Theme:
 The message of the literature drama-comedy wants to convey is we must enrich
and nurture the Philippine cultures, traditions, and lifestyles as Filipinos, it must
remain alive knowing that these are eventually fading because of the modern
era.

 Another theme was also shown from this literature drama-comedy and it is the
significance of women's reputation. Filipino women from the past were known as
conservative and modest just like Maria Clara, they are always being
accompanied by their families whenever there are any occasions. For some
reason, we all know that women receive equal treatment. However, especially in
the present time, they must learn to strive to live life carefully and wisely.

 Also, people nowadays tend to easily judge and criticize others by giving
comments and opinions just based on what they hear and see without certain
evidence to prove from the rumors that they saw and heard.

Relevance of the story today: (I’m not sure with this, it’s just my opinion hahaha).
In the Philippines, there is a saying: “Dapat nating mahalin ang sariling atin.” We as
Filipinos must live our life according to the cultures, traditions, and beliefs that we are
born in and our ancestors passed down to us and made these marks to be recognized
as a Filipino. Let us accept and embrace who we are and where we originate from.
