Information on the Entry Procedures to Korea

As of April 1, 2020 the Korean government implemented strengthened procedures

regarding the quarantine management of overseas arrivals in South Korea. We ask for
your full cooperation. Please follow the instructions below.

1. At the Airport (During Check-in)

You need to download the “Self-Quarantine Safety Protection App” (See the QR codes
below for downloading) before you seek entry to Korea. We recommend that you install
these before boarding. Korean health authorities have indicated that all passengers will
be required to download and respond to daily questions via this Self-Diagnosis Mobile
App for 14 days. Those who violate the self-quarantine order may be subject to a fine,
arrest, or deportation.

You are a “long-term” visitor who has the specific residence in Korea.

Prior to boarding, All passengers will be subject to thermal testing. Passengers with
temperatures exceeding 37.5°C will be denied boarding. If required by your airline, you
will have to provide the COVID-19 test results for boarding. Please check with your
airline.
Bring some snacks with you prior to boarding. You won't have a chance to visit any
convenient store or restaurant from your boarding time till you have the first meal
provided from the quarantine facility. (It could take up to 24 hours from your boarding
time.)

2. During the Flight

Please follow your flight attendants’ instructions to fill out and complete the Health
Declaration Form and a Travel Record Declaration. Please keep your mask on for the
duration of the flight. Please pack extra facial masks.

3. Upon Arrival in Korea

Passengers will be categorized as those with or without symptoms and be subject to the
quarantine process accordingly. Please follow the instructions to be given by the
quarantine personnel at the Incheon Airport. You will have limited access to designated
bathrooms, so come prepared.

4. Going to Gwangmyung train (KTX bullet train) station from Incheon Airport
Check the location of Exclusive Airport buses for the to Gwangmyung station. It runs
every 30 minutes. You do NOT have to buy a bus ticket at the airport. You will be
required to pay 12,000 KRW after you arrive at Gwangmyung station.

5. Going to Gwangju-Songjeong station from Gwangmyung station

You need to pay 56,900KRW for

both a bus ticket from Incheon
airport to Gwangmyung station
(12,000KRW) and train to Gwangju

6. Going to a government facility in Gwangju

Gwangju Fire Academy
(a government quarantine facility
in Gwangju).

4. You will be tested after your

arrival. If you test negative for
the virus, then you will be
transported to our dormitory on
the following day to quarantine
for two weeks. You will be tested
again at the end of quarantine.

If you test positive, you will be

transported to a designated local
hospital for treatment.

5. Before the test result comes

out, a single room will be
arranged for you with a care
package. (Water, Toilet paper,
masks, blankets, trashbags, etc.)

Meals will be provided during

your stay at the facility.

mass-prepared, therefore your
individual dietary requirements may not
be honored. Please understand.
**Everything at this facility, including
meals and the test, will be covered by
NIIED. However, if there’s an extra
charge, it will be deducted from your
September allowance.
7. Going to Chonnam National University Dormitory
You will be transported to CNU dormitory on a charted bus. Once you are admitted to
the designated dorm rooms via the transportation we arrange, you will be assigned to
single rooms for self-isolation for 2 weeks.

Three meals and snacks will be provided to your rooms everyday, and the government
will also get you a care package with foods, snacks and toiletries.
*These meals and snacks are mass-prepared, therefore your individual dietary
requirements may not be honored. Please understand.
**Everything at this facility, including meals and the test, will be covered by NIIED.
However, if there’s an extra charge, it will be deducted from your September
allowance.
***There’s no lift at those quarantine facilities.

Ÿ Meals delivery time

Breakfast 09:30AM, Lunch 1:30PM, Dinner 6:30PM
Ÿ Waste disposal: 2PM everyday

You will be unable to get out of the rooms for 14 days, so you need to bring your
laptop (with LAN connection) and books. If your laptop does not have LAN connector,
make sure you pack an adaptor and the necessary cables. Once the quarantine is over,
you will be released to your own room.
FYI,
S. Korea to revise law to charge foreigners for COVID-19 treatment
Foreign nationals would have to pay for COVID-19 treatment in South Korea as the
government has decided to fix the free coverage amid ballooning bill.

The government will push for a revision of related laws to make foreigners to pay for
treatment when their infection is confirmed during a quarantine period after entry. The
change will initially be applied to those who violate self-quarantine rules.

Must Follow the school's and country's quarantine guidelines. Failure to follow the
instructions may result disadvantages.
