STUDY PLAN

I knew I was into computer science when I would solve the mild booting errors and find out
missing core system files of the computers of the computer labs in my school. I studied
forward with the ultimate goal of pursuing a Bachelor in Computer Science. I became more
ambitious and chose UK education to fulfill my dream. Therefore, I am highly interested to
pursue a BSc. in Computer Science offered by University of Greenwich for the
September-2021 Intake to gain completeness of knowledge and skills; and also help me to
get to the peak of a successful career.

I have completed my Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination from Armanitola

Govt. High School securing GPA 4.91 on a scale of 5 in 2017 and Higher Secondary
Certificate (HSC) Examination from Ideal College in 2019. After my HSC, I was adamant
about receiving the best of education in the computer field and therefore, have come to
the plan of acquiring a foreign degree that focuses more on the practical education. For
pursuing a degree in United Kingdom, I polished my English proficiency and sat for the
IELTS Examination in 2020 and successfully secured 6.5 overall band score.

I have chosen UK as this country is known to have one of the highest ranked Bachelors
programs of Computer Science. Because of the diverse student population and the
increasing popularity of UK as one of the best economical option as it has a lower cost of
education and living compared to USA and Australia I made the decision to study in UK. It
is important to consider a study destination and the quality of degree certification from
that place of how it will affect the future employability. I found degrees are focused
towards further developing professional skills and help in finding employment. Moreover,
pursuing a degree in Computer Science at a European institution comes with the advantage
of receiving both the academic and technical skills that relates with the rapidly changing
industrial requirements. The population of international students in UK makes the learning
environment more diverse.

After a good amount of research I have found and come to the decision of choosing the
program of Computer Science (University of Greenwich). While at Greenwich I will study
with experienced instructors, in smaller classes and adaptive instruction, having a strong
emphasis on group work, presentations and peer assessments. I will have the opportunity
to study on-campus with international students from different countries at University of
Greenwich. University of Greenwich considered as the best in the UK and it will be my
privilege If I get the chance to attend this university for my further studies. It is going
to be an honor for me to be part of it’s beautiful, historic campuses in South-East London
and Kent that is highly satisfied by students.

I will at first attend the International Year Zero (IYZ) which will cover the major
mathematical and scientific principles and is equivalent to the first year of the University
of Greenwich’s Bachelor of Computer Science degree program. The Faculty of Engineering
and Computer Science offer the widest variety of science programs in the province, along
with opportunities to experience research alongside world-renowned scientists. I am
eagerly waiting for attending the courses such as – Database Design and Usage, Pure
Mathematics, Problem Solving and Programming etc. Through the elective program I will be
able to combine Computer Science with study in a wide variety of fields including
mathematics, engineering, management etc. During the BSc. program at Bangor, I am
hoping to conduct academic research collaboratively with professors, researchers and
application development engineers from successful companies of the computer industry in
UK. Furthermore, I am looking forward to have access in the laboratory facilities which
are led and guided by experienced professors.

The constant development of new technologies also means that there’s a constant demand
for brilliant tech minds that can create, maintain, and fix both gadgets and code. Due to
over population and huge number of students in our country, it is evident that students
don’t get the focused attention from their professors/teachers, which is a drawback
studying in Bangladesh. Bearing all these facts in mind, I have decided to get higher
education from abroad. Choosing UK as my higher education destination is also progressive
for my future career here in Bangladesh. At present, Bangladesh is seeing a huge change in
the technological sector. The “Vision 2021” by Bangladesh Government is a manifesto that
targets to ensure the implementation of Information Technology (IT) at every sector of
our country. This will result in the recruitment of large number of IT professionals. My
high ambition of becoming a Software Engineer is going to be rewarding if I come back to
my country and join in the IT industry of our country.

My parents are the main reason why I am intensely pursuing this degree from a foreign
institution. My father’s love, affection, principles and inspirations has kept our family
members close to each other. That is why, after finishing my education in UK, I have a
strong desire to come back to my homeland.I will have to look after my parents as they
have high hope on me and have led me closer to my dreams.
