Lincoln Log Cabin hosts its first tractor show 30° F
at ‘Taste of Summer’ Current Conditions

LERNA - Lincoln Log Cabin historic site's Taste of


Summer featured a tractor show this year. It was a
new addition to the site's annual festivities. Guests
of Lincoln Log Cabin could enjoy Sarah Lincoln,
sweet corn, and a two-family tractor collection.
Matthew Mittlestaedt, director of Lincoln Log Cabin,
says the tractor show goes well with the agricultural
features of the festivities.

"We entered the tractor show because it was local and I like to support local people," Madlem said. "My Tuesday due to storm

Madlem brought the oldest tractors to the show.

Colgrove explained all the plants on Sargent farm are those that were available during Lincoln's time. There
aren't any modern plants grown at Lincoln historic site.

"This weekend we have the taste of summer," Colgrove said. "We have the corn boil. We have a volunteer
that is churning ice cream with a gas engine."
The Lincoln historic site uses heirloom seeds to plant its agricultural fruits and vegetables.
"We don't use any insecticides or weed control," Colgrove said.
"We are always looking for new things to do," Mittlestaedt said.
