A Hectic Beginning!
Who knew a bird could delay my return to South Africa by 2 days? I learned that
it could and returned to Durban on the 13th of January. Three days later we hit
the ground rolling. Our team packed up and headed south for our staff retreat.
Being there was a great time to connect with one another, and clear our minds in
order to focus on effectively reaching the students here in Durban. We also took
some time on our retreat for fun stuff. I taught the new girls how to drive, and we
spent some time going to a small game park, the largest reptile park in Africa, and
to a famous waffle house down south. We had a great time, as we began to
connect and learn about each other in our first week together.
After we returned to Durban I helped my new team get settled in, and we dealt
with some car issues. Once we were settled we spent a long day meeting to discuss
a strategic plan for our ministry this semester. We decided to focus on providing
the students at Westville and Howard with a vision to reach specific target areas,
places where God has already placed them. The vision is to see our students
sharing the Gospel with those who are naturally around them, a lesson which can
be carried into each of their future places of work.
The day after we set a plan, our National Campus Director and the Port Elizabeth
STINT team joined us in Durban to discuss National vision. We loved our time
with the other team and found it easy to be as much of a family with them as we
were becoming already. I also loved having the team here because a friend of mine
from California, Franckie, is on the team. We had a blast showing them around
Durban, but this time also rocked our world and turned our plans upside down!

HISTORY!!!!!!!
Shortly after my return I was able to find time to go visit History! I love this little boy so
much. We arrived and he ran to the car, and then to me giving me a big hug. I gave him the
new Gator clothes I brought for him and he desired to put them on right away! We played
for a little while and then said goodbye. I can’t wait to see more of him this year! He is
growing so fast!

A new year with a God sized vision!
Pravani, our National Director
shared with us that we are no longer
the Durban STINT team but rather
the KwaZulu-Natal STINT team.
This took our focus off reaching 2
campuses and put it onto reaching
over 8 campuses.
At first glance we brushed it off, but
soon we were feeling led to do what
seems nothing short of counter-
intuitive. We are now planning on
staying on Westville and Howard
and discipling the student leaders to
be able to sustain their own
movement on their campus, but we
are also going to being to launch new
movements on 2 to 3 more
campuses.
Two of our students from last year
have moved to a campus 45 minutes
away in Pietermaritzburg. After
speaking with these students we have
decided to encourage them to begin
to launch a movement on their
campus, and have committed to
meeting with them once a week to
PRAY!!!!!!!!!!
~ Pray for our current student leaders
at Westville and Howard. Pray they
are students who are truly
encountering, experiencing, and
expressing the compelling love of
Christ. Pray they would also catch
the vision of reaching the students
they are in class with, or who they
are living with, or communing with
in a natural relational setting.
~ Pray for the large net we are
casting in sharing the Gospel on all
the campuses.
