Safety Information and Notices


Before using the phone, please carefully read the Safety Information and
Notices chapter to prevent any possible accident or malfunction that may be
caused by improper operations.
Using the Mobile Phone and Charger
 Only the specified battery charger is permitted. Using other brands may
cause battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire.
 Avoid exposure to moisture, heat or dust to prevent breakdown.
 The phone, battery, charger and AC adapter are not waterproof. Keep them
away from moisture and liquids.
 Avoid dropping violently, shaking or tampering with the phone or charger
to avoid battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire.
 Don't place the battery, phone or charger near a microwave or high-voltage
device to prevent battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire; also
keep the phone and AC adapter away from overheating, smoke or short
circuiting.
 Don't use the phone where there is volatile oil or other liquids to avoid the
possibility of fire, breakdown or damage.
 To avoid any damage or breakdown, don't disassemble the phone, battery,
charger or internal components by yourself.
Using the Mobile Phone
 Don't use the phone while you are driving. To prevent traffic accidents, park
your car in a safe place before using your mobile phone.
 Usage of mobile phones in aircrafts or in hospitals is prohibited. Switch the

phone off to prevent any possible interference with electronic medical


devices or avionics. Follow all rules and regulations in such places.
 Don't use the phone at a gas station, near fuel or chemicals.
 Don't use the phone near electronic medical devices such as hearing aids,
pacemakers and automatically controlled devices such as fire detectors and
automatic doors.
 Before using mobile phones near electronic medical devices such as
pacemakers, please contact the manufacturer or dealer for advice in
preventing any unsafe interference.
Using the Battery
 Don't expose batteries near a fire. Doing so may cause battery explosion or
even start a fire.
 If you have difficulties installing the battery, please don't force the
installation to prevent battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire.
 Don't connect the polarities of the battery with metals such as pins or wire
to avoid short circuit. Don't place or carry the phone with metal objects to
avoid battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire.
 Battery liquid is extremely harmful for one's eyes. Don't rub your eyes.
Rather, wash your eyes with water first and then go directly to a doctor for
help.
 Don't use or locate your phone near areas of high temperature to prevent
battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire.
 Remove battery and do not re-use the battery when abnormal charging or
storing conditions occur such as overheating, changes of color, shape, etc.
 If the battery leaks liquid or produces an odour, dispose far from the fire to

avoid possible explosion or fire.


 Don't expose the battery to high temperatures because the battery may leak,
overheat, degrade or shorten its usage life.
Using the Charger
 Usage of improper voltage will cause fire or breakdown. If the charger
breaks down, smoke or even fire may result.
 Clean dust away from the power socket to avoid the possibility of fire.
 Don't place containers filled with liquids, such as water, near the charger.
Liquid spilled into the charger will cause overheating or other malfunctions.
 If liquid, such as water, is spilled into the charger, immediately pull the
power cable out of the outlet to prevent overheating, fire or other
breakdown.
 Don't use the charger in places with high humidity such as in bathrooms to
avoid causing fire or breakdown.
Requirements for the Battery
 Batteries should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated place. If not using the
mobile phone for extended periods of time, charge the battery again to
avoid battery breakdown.
 Batteries may wear out fast. Batteries have a limited usage lifespan and
frequent charging will shorten battery life. If charging does not improve
your battery’s performance, the battery should be replaced.
 Do not dispose of the batteries together with other rubbish. Follow the
rules of local administrations regarding the disposal of old batteries.

Requirements for the Mobile Phone


 Avoid using your mobile phone in places with extremely high or low
temperatures. Using the phone within a temperature range of 50C~350C
and humidity of 35%~85% is recommended.
 To avoid interruption of communication quality, not using your mobile
phone near a telephone, TV set, radio or other electronic device is
recommended.
Requirements for the Charger and AC Adapter
 Don't charge your phone under the following circumstances: in direct
sunshine, with temperatures equal to or lower than 00C, equal to or higher
than 400C, high humidity, dust, vibration or near a TV, radio, etc. (Video
and audio frequency signals may cause unwanted noise).
Cleanliness and Maintenance
 Use soft cloth to clean the mobile phone, the battery and the charger.
 Don't use alcohol, diluted liquid or benzene to wipe the mobile phone.
 Sockets with dust will cause connection damage, short-circuit or even
prevent re-charging. Be sure to clean sockets periodically.

Getting Started
Installing SIM Card & Battery
Insert the SIM card to enjoy communication services supported by your
network operator.
1. Press and hold Power Key to turn off the phone.
2. Remove the battery cover.
3. Insert the SIM card in the SIM card slot. Make sure the metal contact area
on the SIM card is facing down.
4. Insert the top side of the battery into the battery compartment first, and
then put the whole battery into the battery compartment.
5. Replace the battery cover and press it to lock.
Installing the microSD Card
Inserting the microSD Card
1. Open the microSD card slot lid.
2. Insert the microSD card. Make sure the
metal contact area on the card is facing
down.
3. Close the microSD card slot lid.
Removing the microSD Card
1. Open the microSD card slot lid.
2. Press the edge of the card slightly and
then remove the microSD card.

Battery Charging
When the battery power is low, a message appears. There are two methods of
charging the battery:
 Charging the battery using the provided power adapter. Attach the adapter
plug to the charging connector of the phone, and the other end to the wall
outlet.
 Charging the battery using the provided USB data cable connected to a
computer.
NOTE
 The battery strength icon motions during charging, and it will become still
after fully charged. Unplug the adapter from the power outlet first, and then
remove the adapter from the phone.
 If the battery is deeply discharged, it will take several minutes before the
battery strength indicator appears.
 Only designated AC adapter and USB data cable provided with the mobile
phone can be used for charging.
Power On/Off
1. Press and hold Power Key for more than three seconds to power on or off.
2. When you switch on the phone, it will automatically check the SIM card
status and warm you if the card has failed or is absent. You are required to
enter the PIN code and Phone Password if SIM Lock and Phone Lock are
enabled. Please refer to the Security Setup chapter for details.
3. The phone searches for an available network and then returns to the
Standby Mode.

Touchscreen
Screen Calibration
You will be given touch screen pen calibration guidance when you turn on the
phone for the first time.
If you find that the screen taps are unavailable during operation, go to Settings
 Touch panel  Pen calibration to recalibrate the touchscreen.
Touchscreen Operation
You can apply the following operations to the touchscreen:
Tap or Touch: Tap or touch a desired icon or option with your finger or stylus
to enable the selected function.
Swipe: Drag your finger or stylus vertically or horizontally across the screen.
You can refer to the following chapters Idle Screen Style / Idle Screen
Widgets / Idle Mode Wallpaper for operation details.
Slide: Tap and hold your finger or stylus with slight pressure on the screen and
then start to drag. You can slide the scroll bar when you are checking the
options or slide the progress bar when you are enjoying music or video.

Idle Screen Style
In the Standby Mode, swipe your finger horizontally to change the Idle Screen
Style. There are three Idle Screen Styles available in the phone.
Idle Screen Widgets
You can tap an Idle Screen Widget to activate its related function. Idle Screen
Widgets vary according to different screen styles.
In the Standby Mode, swipe your finger vertically to open or close the Idle
Screen Widgets.
You can go to Menu  Settings  Display setup  Idle screen style to set
desired Idle Screen Widget functions.

then swipe your finger horizontally to change the wallpaper.

Main Menu
In the Standby Mode, you can tap Menu to enter the main
menu screen.
Main Menu options include Phonebook, Messages, Call
Logs, Fun & Games, Camera, Organizer, Extras,
Services, Multimedia, Settings, Bluetooth and My Files.

NOTE
 In this user manual, some steps for menu access are written for quick
reference, for example, Menu Settings  Security setup.
 The Keys used by function descriptions in this user manual are written in
bold and italic format, for example, Talk Key.

Basic Operations
Making a Call
Standard Dialing
1. Tap the phone icon to open the dial screen.
2. Tap the soft-keypad to enter the phone number  tap Talk Key or the dial
icon to dial.
International Dialing
Tap Asterisk Key twice on the soft-keypad to input “+”  enter the country
code, area code and phone number  tap Talk Key or the dial icon to dial.
Dialing Extension Number
On the dial screen, enter the phone number  tap Asterisk Key repeatedly to
insert “P” or “W”  enter the extension number  tap Talk Key or the dial
icon to dial.
NOTE
 Inserting “P”: The phone dials the extension number automatically.
 Inserting “W”: The phone dials the extension number once you tap Yes.
Dialing a Number from Phonebook
In the Standby Mode, tap Name to enter the Phonebook list  select a desired
contact  tap Talk Key or the dial icon to dial.
Dialing a Number from Call Logs
In the Standby Mode, tap Talk Key to enter Call Logs / Dialed call logs /
Missed call logs / Received call logs  select a desired number  tap Talk

Key to dial.
Speed Dialing
Speed dialing numbers can be set to Keys 2~9. To enable and set the speed dial
number, see the Phonebook  Speed dial chapter.
On the dial screen, tap and hold a desired speed dial key (Keys 2 ~9) to dial a
preset phone number directly.
Emergency Call
On the dial screen, enter the emergency number (such as “112”)  tap Talk
Key or the dial icon to dial.
If the SIM card is not inserted in your phone, tap SOS in the Standby Mode 
Yes  the phone starts dialing the preset emergency number.
NOTE
 Please contact your local network operator for available emergency call
numbers and related services.
Voice Mail
On the dial screen, tap and hold Key 1 to call the voice mail server and retrieve
messages. To set voice mail server numbers, see the Messages  Voice mail
server chapter for details.
Answering a Call
When there is an incoming call, tap Options for:
Answer: Answer the incoming call.
Deflect: Enter a new number to transfer the incoming call.
Call background sound: Activate a desired call background sound effect

during a call. You can also edit Call background sound settings or select a
specific sound effect from the Effect list.
Mute an Incoming Call
When there is an incoming call, tap the icon to stop the ring tone and
vibration of the incoming call.
Sending Template Messages to an Incoming Call
After muting an incoming call, you can tap the icon to open the SMS
templates list, and then choose a desired template message to send to the
incoming call number.
Rejecting a Call
When there is an incoming call, tap End Key or tap Reject to reject the
incoming call.
In-Call Operations
After accepting a call, you can select the following operations:
1. Press Side Keys to adjust the volume level.
2. Tap H-Free to activate the loudspeaker. Tap H-Held to return to the hand
held mode.
3. Tap Options for the in-call options as below:
Hold: Keep the current call on hold. The calling party will hear the hold
tone. To retrieve the call, tap Options  Retrieve to switch.
End: End the current call.
New call: Enter new phone number to call.
Phonebook: Enter Phonebook menu.

Messages: Enter Messages menu. Available menu items are SMS, Voice
mail server and Broadcast message.
Sound recorder: Record current conversation.
Mute: Select On or Off to mute or retrieve the current conversation.
DTMF: Select On or Off to enable or disable DTMF.
Call background sound: Activate a desired call background sound effect.
Options include Status, Playback settings and Effect list.
Call Waiting (Network Service)
The GSM call waiting service is a network or subscription dependent service.
For operational details, please contact your network operator.
Please refer to the Settings  Call setup  Call waiting chapter to activate
the call waiting function.
1. When there is another incoming call during a call, tap Reject to hang up the
incoming call. Tap Options  Answer (or just tap Talk Key) to accept
the incoming call and hold the current call. In the Options list, you can also
select Hold active, End active, Deflect, Mute, H-Free/H-Held and
DTMF.
2. After accepting the new call, the original call is put on hold. You can view
the current caller list and the calling status (Activate or Held) on the screen.
3. Select a caller in the call list, and then tap Options for the following
options:
Swap: Swap the selected call to be active or held in the calling mode. You
can also tap Talk Key to swap call status.
Conference: Activate a conference call.
Transfer: Transfer the selected call number to another phone number.

End single: Terminate the selected call.


End all: Terminate all calls.
You can also select other options including Phonebook, Messages, Sound
recorder, Mute, DTMF and Call background sound.
Conference Call (Network Service)
The GSM Conference Call service is a network or subscription dependent
service. For operational details, please contact your network operator.
1. During a call, tap Options  New call to make a new call.
2. When the second call is connected, tap Options  Conference to enable a
conference call. You can repeat the same steps to add more callers.
3. During the conference call, tap Options for the following options:
Split: Talk to the selected call party privately.
End single: Terminate the selected call.
Hold all: Hold all calls.
End all: Terminate all calls.
New call: Enter a new phone number to call.
You can also select other options including Phonebook, Messages, Sound
recorder, Mute, DTMF and Call background sound.

Keypad Lock
In the Standby Mode, tap and hold End Key or tap the Keypad Lock icon
to lock the keypad. When the keypad is locked, press Side Keys to unlock.
USB Configuration
Use the provided USB cable to connect your phone with your computer.
You can select the following functions:
Mass storage: Set your phone as a mass storage device. After connecting the
phone to your PC with the provided USB cable, you can select this item for
data transmission between phone and PC.
COM port: Set the USB port as a serial port to communicate with your PC or
set your phone as a modem for a GPRS connection. You can contact your
phone retailer to download the Phone Suite toolkit, as well as USB cable
driver and other help files.
PictBridge: Select this item to print out photos stored in your phone by
connecting the phone to a photo printer via USB. When the connection is
established, select a photo  tap Print  select To PictBridge to print
out the photo.

Phonebook

Phonebook
You can save the important phone number in the handset or the SIM card. The
phone can store up to 1000 sets of contacts, while the capacity of SIM card is
depended on the card type provided by your network operator.
To access this menu, tap Menu in the Standby Mode and then select
Phonebook.
Quick Search
Use this menu to search for contacts in Phonebook.
1. Enter one or more letters (up to 10 characters) of any part of the contact
name you want to find. The phone will automatically search for all entries
containing the letters you entered in the search list.
2. Select the desired contact from the list, and then you can tap Talk Key to
dial directly, or tap Options for the following options:
Send SMS: Write and send an SMS message to the selected contact.
Send MMS: Write and send an MMS message to the selected contact.
View: Check the detailed information of the selected contact. Contacts
saved in SIM card will only display Name and Number.
Edit: Edit the information items of the selected contact.
Delete: Delete the selected contact.
Copy: Copy the selected contact from SIM to Phone or Phone to SIM. The
contact entry will be saved in both SIM and Phone.
Move: Move the selected contact from SIM to Phone or Phone to SIM.
Duplicate: Duplicate the selected contact in its original storage site.
Send vCard: Send information of the selected contact to another phone
number. You can select Send by SMS, Send by MMS, Send by

Bluetooth or Save to file.


Print: If your phone is connected to a printer, you can print out the
selected contact’s information.
Add to Black list: Add the selected contact into the black list. The
incoming calls from the numbers in the black list will be rejected
automatically.
Search Contact
You can search the stored contacts in the phonebook by the name.
1. Enter the full name or just a few letters of a contact and then tap Options
 Search to search for a matching contact.
2. Select a desired entry, and then you can tap the dial icon for dialing or tap
Options for more operations (refer to the Quick Search chapter for
details).
Add New Contact
You can add new contacts to the phone or SIM card.
1. Select the preferred storage (To SIM or To phone), and then tap OK for
editing:
To SIM: Edit Name and Number to save.
To phone: Edit the following information items (Name / Number / Home
number / Company name / Email address / Office number / Fax
number / Birthday / Associate picture / Associate video / Associate
sound / Caller group) to save. Refer to the Phonebook  Settings 
Fields chapter to enable desired items.
2. After entering the information of the new contact, tap OK  Yes to save.

NOTE
 The settings specified in Associate picture, Associate video and
Associate sound are given priority over group settings.
Speed Dial
Use this menu to assign your most frequently called numbers to Keys 2~ 9 for
speed dialing.
1. Select Speed dial  tap Enable speed dial to enable or disable the speed
dial function.
2. Select Set number  select a desired key from 2 to 9  tap Options 
select Edit to select the entry from the Phonebook list for the selected key,
or select Delete to clear the current setting.
To dial the speed dial numbers, tap and hold the speed dial key (Key2 ~9) on
the dial screen for dialing directly.
Multi Operation
You can select designated entries and then choose to copy or delete the selected
entries from the Options menu.
1. Tap the check box to select the desired entry (or entries) in the phonebook
list.
2. Tap Options for the following items:
Select all: Select all entries in Phone & SIM card.
Unselect all: Unselect all entries in Phone & SIM card.
Select all from SIM: Select all entries in SIM card.
Unselect all from SIM: Unselect all entries in SIM card.
Select all from phone: Select all entries in Phone.
Unselect all from phone: Unselect all entries in Phone.

Copy selected: Copy the selected entries from Phone to SIM card or SIM
card to Phone.
Delete selected: Delete the selected entries.
Caller Groups
Use this menu to organize your contacts in caller groups (Friends / Family /
VIP / Business / Others).
1. Select a caller group in Caller groups.
2. Tap OK to edit the following items.
Group name: Change the group name.
Alert type: Select Ring, Vib. Only, Vib. and ring, Vib. then ring , Light
only or None.
Group sound: Select the ring tone to be used when you receive a call from
a person in the group.
Group picture: Select the incoming call picture when you receive a call
from a person in the group. If you want to view and select images, tap
View and slide the scroll bar up and down. To select the picture, tap
OK.
Group video: Select the incoming call video when you receive a call from a
person in the group.
Member list: You can check, add or delete group member(s).
Import and Export
You can import or export contact entries of your Phonebook using the
following options:
Export: Export single or multiple Phonebook entries as one .vcf file to a desired
location in My Files (Phone or Memory card). This .vcf file can be used as

Import: Import a .vcf file of saved Phonebook information to the Phone
memory or SIM card. The original entries in Phonebook will not be
replaced.
Settings
You can view and edit the settings for Phonebook as follows:
Memory status: Check the memory status in SIM card and Phone.
Preferred storage: Set the preferred storage either to SIM or to Phone as
default storage in Phonebook.
Fields: Set the information items of the entries saved in Phone. Select the
desired field and then tap the check box to set it to On or Off.
Name list filter: Set the Phonebook list to display the entries saved in the SIM
card, Phone memory, or both.
My vCard: You can edit, save and send My vCard. You can utilize My vCard as
your mobile business card.
vCard version: Select the vCard version.

Messages
Use this menu to send and receive SMS and MMS messages. You can also use
Voice Mail and Broadcast Message features. Messages are available depending
on network services that your network operator supports. To access this menu,
tap Menu in the Standby Mode and then select Messages.
SMS
The SMS (Short Message Service) function is a network service and your
network may or may not support the service.
Write SMS Messages
1. In SMS, tap Write message to edit the message content.
2. During editing, you can tap Options to select Use templates, Insert object,
Format text, Insert number, Insert bookmark and Input method for
desired settings.
3. After completing the message content, tap Options and then select Done.
You can choose from the following options:
Send only: Send the SMS message to a recipient phone number. It will not
save the message.
Save and send: Send the SMS message and save it to the Outbox if it has
been sent out successfully.
Save: Save the SMS message as a draft.
Send to many: Send the SMS message to multiple recipients (up to 10
recipients).
Send by groups: Send the SMS message to the caller group members.
Select a caller group from the list.

Select an SMS message in the Inbox list, you can tap OK to view the message
and then tap Options for the following options:
Reply: Reply to the sender of the selected message.
Delete: Delete the selected message.

Copy to phone/SIM: Copy the selected message to phone or SIM card.

Delete all: Delete all messages in the Inbox.

After reading the selected message, you can tap Navigation Keys (Left / Right)
to view previous or next SMS message in Inbox directly.

In SMS, tap Outbox to view all messages that has been sent successfully.
Select an SMS message in the Outbox list, you can tap OK to view the message
and then tap Options for the following options including Send, Edit, Delete,

Select an SMS template, you can edit or erase the selected template, or use it to
write a new SMS message.
SMS Settings
In SMS, tap SMS Settings for the following setting options:
Profile settings: Set Profile name, SC address, Validity period and Message
type for the provided four SMS profiles.
Common settings: Set Delivery report and Replay path to On or Off.
Memory status: Check the current memory status of SMS messages in the SIM
card and Phone.
Preferred storage: Select the preferred storage site for SMS messages.
Pref. connection: Select the preferred connection type for SMS service.

MMS
Multimedia Message Service (MMS) delivers messages containing a
combination of text, image, video and audio from phone to phone or from
phone to email.
Write MMS Messages
In MMS, tap Write message to edit the MMS message.
1. Insert the phone numbers or email addresses in To, Cc and Bcc fields.
2. Enter the subject of the MMS message in the Subject field.
3. Select the Edit content field to write message content. During editing, tap
Options for the following options including Done, Input method, Add
picture, Add audio, Add video, Add attachment, Add slide before, Add
slide after, Add bookmark text, Preview and Slide timing.
4. After completing the message content, tap Done to go back to the editing
screen, and then select Done again. You can then choose from the following
options:
Send only: Send the MMS message to the recipient’s phone number. It will
not save the message.
Save and send: Send the message and save it to the Outbox.
Save to Drafts: Save the message as a draft.
Save as template: Save the message as a template.
Send options: Configure settings for Validity period, Delivery report,
Read report and Priority.
Exit: Exit the MMS message-editing screen. You can tap Yes to save the
unsent message or tap No to exit without saving the message.

Select an MMS message in the Inbox list, you can tap OK to view the message

View: View the selected message.

Forward: Send the selected message to other phone numbers or emails.

OK to view the message and then tap Options for the following options

Server profile: Select the desired profile for MMS service.


Memory status: Check the current MMS usage status, used space and free
space information.
Voice Mail Server
Your phone is capable of dialing with voice mail server numbers (if provided by
your network) to get voice mails. For quick access to Voice Mail, you can tap
and hold Key 1 in the dial screen.
You can set 2 voice mail servers. Select a voice mail server item in the list and
then tap Options. You can choose Edit to edit the voice mail server number, or
select Connect to voice to dial the configured voice mail server number and
then listen to the voice mail.
NOTE
 Voice mail is a network feature. Please contact your network operator for
more information.
Broadcast Message
You can receive public messages provided by the network operator for
information about weather, news, and etc. in your particular area. Please
contact your network operator for service details.
The following options are available:
Receive mode: Enable or disable the reception of the broadcasted messages.
Read message: Read all broadcast messages received.
Languages: Select your preferred language for displaying cell broadcast
messages.
Channel settings: Select, add, edit and delete broadcasting channels.

Call Logs
Use this menu to view the calls you have dialed, received, or missed, and the
number of times a call is made. You can also check the cost of your calls, if the
SIM card supports this function.
To access this menu, tap Menu in the Standby Mode and select Call Logs.
Missed Call Logs
This menu displays the most recent 20 received and not answered calls.
Select an entry in Missed call logs, and then you can tap the view icon to
view details, or tap Talk Key to make a call, or tap Options for the following

Save to Phonebook: Save the selected record to the phonebook.
Call: Call the selected record directly.
Edit: Edit the selected record to save in the phonebook.
Delete: Delete the selected record.

This menu displays the most recent 20 calls you have received.
Select an entry in Received call logs, and then you can tap the view icon

Delete Call Logs
This menu allows you to delete all call logs of each category at once.
The following options are available:
Missed call logs: Delete all missed call records.
Dialed call logs: Delete all dialed call records.
Received call logs: Delete all received call records.

Auto Quick End
Auto Quick End function allows you to end the call after a preset period of
time. You can set the Auto quick end function to On or Off and then set the
time length (1~9999 seconds). If the function is switched to On and the time is
set, the call will end automatically after the preset time period.
Call Time
This menu displays the time log for calls.
Last call time: Check the duration of the last call.
Total sent: Check the total duration of all dialed calls.
Total received: Check the total duration of all received calls.
Reset all time: Reset the call timers to zero.

NOTE
 The call time records are only for your reference. The actual time invoiced
for calls by your network operator may vary, depending on network features,
rounding-off for billing purposes and so forth.
Call Cost
This network feature displays the cost of calls. This menu is available only if
your SIM card supports this feature. Note that this is not intended for billing
purposes. Please contact your network operator to set Max cost and Price per
unit if necessary.
Last call cost: Check the cost of your last call.
Total cost: Check the cost of all calls.
Reset cost: Enter PIN2 to reset the cost counters.
Max cost: Enter PIN2 to set the Max Cost.
Price per unit: Enter PIN2 to set the price per unit.
SMS Counter
You can view the numbers of sent and received SMS messages and reset the
counter.

GPRS Counter
You can view the GPRS data bytes of the file(s) last sent, last received, all sent

Fun & Games provides you with Java interface and games. You can use your
phone as your entertainment center. To access this menu, tap Menu in the
Standby Mode and select Fun & Games.
Java
Using this menu you can enjoy Java games or applications downloaded by WAP.
The Loading time will depending on the application. You can then follow the
instruction to launch the game or application.
Java Settings
You can configure the following Java settings:
Java audio: Set to Off or to different levels.
Java vibration: Set vibration to On or Off.
Java network: Select the Java network from the list. The available networks
depend on the service that your SIM card provides.
Heap size: View the remaining heap size.
Java Default Security
You can setup Third party and Untrusted domain prompt message frequency
or select Restore settings to restore its default settings.
Games
This phone provides two embedded games (Puzzle and Magic Sushi).
Select a desired game, and then you can select the following options:
Start game: Start playing the game. When you tap , it will go back to
previous menu with the Continue option added.

Organizer
Tap Menu in the Standby Mode and then select Organizer to enter the
Organizer function provided by your phone.
Alarm
You can save up to five alarms as reminders. Alarm settings include Time,
Repeat, Volume, Tone, Snooze and Alert type. When the preset alarm time
arrives, tap Stop to stop the alarm or tap Snooze to set the alarm to remind you
again after a preset period of time.
Calendar
You can view calendar information and created tasks. On the calendar screen,
select a day, and then you can tap Options for operation items including View
tasks, Add task, Jump to date, Go to weekly / monthly view and Print.
To Do
You can create tasks in different categories including Reminder, Meeting,
Course, Date, Call and Anniversary. Select a task in the task list, and then tap
Options for operation items including View, Add, Edit, Delete, Delete all and
Send vCalendar.
World Clock
You can view the date and time of main cities in the world. Press Navigation
Keys (Left/Right) or tap Left/ Right Arrows on the screen to select a desired
city, and then tap Select to set it as the home city, or tap OK Key to set the
Daylight saving time for a foreign city function.

Calculator
Use this menu to perform basic arithmetic functions: addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division.
Currency Converter
Allows you to perform simple conversions from one type of currency to another.
Enter a currency rate and then the local or a foreign currency value for the
converted currency value.
Unit Converter
Allows you to perform simple conversions from one type of unit to another.
Available unit options include Weight, Length, Volume, Temperature,
Velocity and Surface. Select a specific unit conversion type in the Unit option,
and then enter a value in one unit bar. You can view the converted value result
in another unit bar.
Stopwatch
 Typical stopwatch: Features Split timing for measuring each player’s
record from the start, and Lap timing to measure each lap record. The
saved timing records can be displayed by selecting View record from the
menu.
 nWay stopwatch: Use four Navigation Keys or tap icons to measure
primary event time and secondary event times. When one key is pressed,
the timing is paused on the remaining three keys.

E-Book Reader
The E-Book Reader application provides an easy way for you to read
documents stored in the Phone memory or from a memory card. Available file
formats are “.txt” and “.pdb” file. The default folder to save E-book files is My
Files  Phone or Memory Card  My Ebook.
1. Tap E-Book reader to enter the bookshelf. You can view all saved E-books
in the My Ebook folder in the phone or memory card. If the Bookshelf is
empty, you can tap Options for Clean up bookshelf and Global settings
options.
2. Select a file in the bookshelf and then tap Options for operation items
including Open E-book, Clean up bookshelf, Global settings, Book info,
Delete, Delete all files, Sort by, Apply global settings and Help.
3. Select Open E-book to open the selected document in the viewer. You can
scroll through a large document by using Navigation Keys (Up / Down).
And then you can tap Options for more operations.

SIM Tool Kit service is supported by your network operator. Please contact

WAP
The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) on your phone allows you to access
the wireless web. Using the web browser, you can access up-to-date information
and a wide variety of media content, such as wallpapers, ring tones, and music
files.
WAP service options:
Homepage: Access the network service provider’s Homepage.
Bookmarks: Displays all saved bookmarks. Select a bookmark, and then tap
Options for options including Go to, Edit, Send, Delete, Delete all and
Add bookmark.
Recent pages: Displays recently accessed web pages.
Offline pages: Open the saved pages for offline browsing.
Input address: Enter your desired website address.
Service inbox: Saves all received service messages. You can view, delete or
delete all service messages. You can also add the website in the selected
service message to Bookmarks, or add important information (such as the
phone number) of the selected service message to Trust list.
Settings: This option allows you to set WAP settings. There are several profiles
of sites in this phone. You can activate one of them as a home site and

You can view the recorded video with the video player. Press Side Keys to
adjust the volume.
Tap Capture or press Camera Key to capture an image from the video. The
captured image will be saved in Camera folder in My Files.

Play: Play the recorded video. During play, tap Options for Video settings and
Bluetooth settings.
Forward: Forward the video image to Phonebook, screen saver, power on
display, power off display, Email, MMS, Bluetooth or User profiles.
Rename: Rename the video file.
Delete: Delete the video file.
Delete all files: Delete all recorded video files.

Photo Artist
You can edit photo images with this function.
1. Select the image file you want to edit in My Files.
2. Choose Auto resize or Main LCD clip:
Auto resize function resizes the selected image to fit in the Main LCD.
Main LCD clip function clips a part of the image to fit into the Main LCD.
Options:
Save as: Save the edited image with a new file name issued by the phone. You
can edit the file name.
Add effect: You can add effects such as Grayscale, Sepia, and so on. Tap
Navigation Keys (Left / Right) to change selection.
Add frame: Tap Navigation Keys (Left / Right) to change selection of picture
frames.
Add icon: Use Navigation Keys to select the icon. Tap the icon to stamp the
icon on the image.
Add text: Edit the text. You can change text color, border color, shadow color,
font size and italicize the font. Tap Navigation Keys to move the text. Press

OK Key to stamp the text.


Adjustment: You can adjust image and color settings.
Flip: Use Navigation Keys to flip the image horizontally or vertically.
Expand canvas: When the image is smaller than the full screen size, you can
expand the canvas size to full screen.
Image Tiles
You can select multiple images from My Files and combine them (with 2-, 4- or
9-image tiles layout) into one image.
Slide Show
You can view your images as a Slide Show.
1. Select an image folder.
2. Tap Play to begin the slide show. Tap Back to stop the slide show.
3. Select Settings to set Type of play, Speed, Effect, BGM, Horizontal view
and Sound effect.
Sound Recorder
You can record sound for a voice memo, ring tone or MMS attachment.
Enter Sound recorder to view the list of recorded files. If the list is empty, tap
Options to record a new file or edit settings.
Select a recorded file from the list, and then tap Options for the following
options:
Record: Start recording. After recording the file, edit the file name to save the
recorded file.
Play: Play the selected sound file.
Append: Append additional recordings to the selected recorded file. This

Rename: Change the file name of the selected sound file.
Delete: Delete the selected file.
Delete all files: Delete all files in the sound recording list.

Pref. storage: Select a desired storage site to save the recorded file (Phone

Settings
The Settings menu provides you with various setting options to customize the
phone to your preferences and needs. You can also reset the settings to their
default values. To access this menu, tap Menu in the Standby Mode and then
select Settings.
User Profiles
The phone provides you with 7 user profiles including General, Meeting,
Outdoor, Indoor, Headset, Bluetooth and Silent. After selecting the desired
profile, you can tap OK Key (or the icon ) to activate the profile, or tap Edit
to set the following options:
Tone setup: Set tones for Incoming call, Power on, Power off, Message tone
and Keypad tone.
Call background sound: Set the background sound effect during a call. You
can adjust the volume and the repeat mode in Playback settings. The
preset sound types in the Effect list are Motorcycle, Sidewalk, MRT1,
MRT2, Restaurant, Pub, Chord, Alarm, Dou and White noise. You can also
add a background sound of your own.
Volume: Set Ring tone and Key tone volume.
Alert type: Select Ring, Vib. only, Vib. and ring, Vib. then ring or Light only.
Ring type: Select Single, Repeat or Ascending.
Extra tone: Enable or disable the extra tones including Warning, Error, Camp
on, Connect, Missed call alert, New message alert and New E-mail alert.
Answer mode: Choose whether to answer an incoming call by tapping any key
or by only using Talk Key.

This menu allows you to customize desired phone display items as below:
Wallpaper: Select the wallpaper image from System or User defined.
Themes: Select the desired theme style (Theme 1or Theme 2).
Idle screen style: Select the desired Idle Screen Style (Style 1~3). You can
adjust the display items of the selected Idle Screen Style.
Tool bar setup: Set function items for Tool Bar 1~3.
Screen saver: Set the screen saver image, status and waiting time.
Power on display: Select the power on display image from System or User
defined.
Power off display: Select the power off display image from System or User
defined.
Font color: Set the font color for Idle Text Style, Title color, Content and
Softkey color.
LCD backlight: Set Brightness and Time of LCD backlight.
Phone Setup
You can configure the phone setup options according to your needs.
Time and Date
You can set time and date for your phone.
Set home city: Select a city as your home city.
Set time/date: Set the current time and date displayed on the idle screen. You
can also set Daylight saving to On or Off.
Set format: Set Time format and Date format.
Schedule Power On/Off
You can store up to 4 sets of time to power on/off your phone.

Language
Use this menu to select one of the several languages for the display text. Select
your preferred language and tap OK to save the setting.
Preferred Input Methods
Select the preferred input method of the phone.
PhotoDial
You can save up to 12 contacts and set their photos in the PhotoDial function.
After the PhotoDial is set, select a photo and then tap Call to make a call.
Dedicated Key
You can set designated shortcut functions for dedicated keys (Up / Down /
Left / Right). Select a desired function from the shorcuts list, and then tap OK
to save it to the selected key.
Auto Update of Date and Time
You can set the phone to update the current date and time automatically from
the network. You can turn this function on or off by taping On or Off.
Flight Mode
You can select Normal mode, Flight mode or Query when power on.

TV Out
You can view the display of your phone on a TV screen by connecting the
phone and TV with the TV output cable. This enables you to enjoy the photos,
videos and music in your phone with family members or friends on a larger
screen.

Important TV Information
 Match the colors of the plug to the colors of the ports on the TV.
 Depending on your particular TV model, the location and shape of the
video input and audio output ports may vary.
 Depending on the video system, the image may vibrate or in some other
way be less than optimal. 
 Depending on the video quality, some video clips may not display. 
 You cannot use a Bluetooth stereo headset or the zooming feature while
using the TV Out mode. 
Transfer phone display to a TV
1. With the TV switched on, connect your phone to the TV with a TV output
cable, as shown above.
2. Switch the TV to the External Input mode. The display switches to the TV
Out mode and you can view the phone display on the TV screen.
3. If necessary, set the video system of your TV to the TV Out mode.

TV Out Options
Enable TV-Out: Enable or disable the TV Out function.
Settings: Select the output format (PAL or NTSL) and set music output to TV
or both TV and phone.
Visual adjust: Adjust the visual effect of the TV Out function.
Extra Number
With this menu, you can edit and save Owner number and SOS number.
Call Setup
The following Call Setup features are under network services. Please contact
your network operator to check availability and subscription of specific features.
Caller ID
This network service informs the call party of your phone number when you
call out.
Options for Caller ID:
Set by network: The network will decide whether to send or hide the Caller
ID.
Hide ID: Hides your phone number from the person who you are calling.
Send ID: Sends your phone number to the person who you are calling.
Call Waiting
This network service informs you of a new incoming call during a call.
Options for Call Waiting:
Activate: Activates the call waiting service.
Deactivate: Deactivates the call waiting service.
Query status: Displays the status of the call waiting service.

Call Divert
This network service diverts the incoming call to another designated number
under preset conditions.
Options for Caller Divert:
Divert all voice calls: Diverts all voice calls under all kinds of situation.
Divert if unreachable: Diverts calls if you are not in a coverage area of your
service provider or the phone is switched off.
Divert if no answer: Diverts calls if you do not answer the phone.
Divert if busy: Diverts calls if your number is busy.
Divert all data calls: Diverts all data calls under in all calling situation.
Cancel all divert: Cancels all call diverting options.
Call Barring
This network service allows you to restrict outgoing or incoming calls under
certain conditions.
NOTE
 The call barring password is required when you use the Call barring
function. You can obtain the password from your network operator when
you subscribe to this function.
Options for Call Barring:
Outgoing calls: Select All calls, International calls or International calls except
to home PLMN.
Incoming calls: Select All calls or When roaming.
Cancel all: Cancels all call restriction settings.
Change barring password: Change call barring password.

Black List
You can enable or disable the Black list function and set phone numbers (up to
20 entries) in the black list as callers that you do not want to answer. Calls from
the callers saved in Black list will be rejected automatically.
No ID Block
You can enable or disable the No ID block function. The Incoming call
without a Caller ID will be blocked and rejected automatically when this
function is enabled.
Auto Redial
You can enable or disable the Auto redial function to redial automatically or
not, after an unsuccessful call attempt.
More
Call time display: Enable or disable the call time display on the phone screen.
Call time reminder: Set call time reminder to Off, Single or Periodic.
Line switching: Switch the network line between Line 1 and Line 2.

Network Setup
Network Selection
The Network selection feature enables you to either automatically or manually
select a network for use when roaming outside of your home network.
Options for Network Selection:
New search: Search for a New Network.
Select network: Select a new network from the Network List.
Selection mode: Tap Change to select Automatic or Manual. Select
Automatic to set the phone to connect to the first available network when
roaming, or select Manual to manually select the network from the list of
available networks.
NOTE
 The selected network must have a roaming agreement with your home
network. Contact your network operator for details.
Preferred Networks
You can set your preferred networks from the PLMN list. The available options
include Add from list, New, Change priority and Delete.
GPRS Connection
You can tap Change to change the setting of the GPRS connection to When
needed or Always.
Security Setup
There are six types of security setting categories, and you can optimize the
security options by tapping Menu Settings  Security setup. These

security settings will help you keep privacy and prevent other people from using
the phone without your permission.
SIM Lock
Enter PIN code to enable or disable the SIM lock protection.
When the PIN Lock feature is on, you are required to enter the PIN code every
time the phone is powered on.
NOTE
 The Personal Identification Number or PIN (4-8digits) protects your SIM
card against unauthorized use. For some network features, you are required
to enter the PIN 2code. The PIN code and PIN2 code are provided with
your SIM card. You can contact your network operator for details.
 If you enter an incorrect PIN code or PIN2 code three times in succession,
the SIM card will be locked. You need your PUK (Personal Unblocking
Key) code or PUK2 code to unlock. You can contact your network operator
for details.
Phone Lock
Enter the phone password to enable or disable the phone lock protection. The
default password is “0000”.
When the phone lock feature is on, you are required to enter the password each
time the phone is switched on.

Auto Keypad Lock


To prevent unwanted accidental key tapping, you can use this function to have
the keypad lock activated automatically after a preset time-out period.
To lock the keypad lock manually, tap and hold End Key for a few seconds.
To unlock the keypad, press Side Keys.
Fixed Dial
Enter PIN2 code to enable or disable the Fixed Dial function.
When the Fixed Dial mode is enabled, you can only dial the phone numbers
saved in the Fixed Dial list. Please contact your network operator for
operational details.
Barred Dial
When the Barred Dial mode is enabled, you are prohibited from dialing the
numbers saved in the Barred Dial list. To call a barred number, you must enter
PIN2 to disable the barred dial function. Please contact your network operator
for operational details.
Change Password
You can change the PIN code, PIN2 code and Phone password.
The default PIN code and PIN2 code are provided by your network operator.
The default phone password is “0000”.
Touch Panel
Pen Calibration
If you find the phone does not respond accurately to screen taps, you can start
the pen calibration process to recalibrate the touchscreen.

Touch Feedback
You can enable or disable the touch feedback function. If it is on, the phone will
vibrate as feedback when you touch the screen for phone operations.
NOTE
 The feedback vibration function has a limited usage lifespan of up to
400,000 times.
Restore Factory Settings
This feature will reset the phone to the factory settings. Restoring to factory
settings will not delete the downloaded objects and phone book records.
The initial password to restore factory settings is “0000”.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth
To access this menu, tap Menu in the Standby Mode and select Bluetooth.
Power
Tap On or Off to enable or disable Bluetooth.
When the Bluetooth is activated, the Bluetooth enabled icon will appear in
the status bar on the idle screen.
NOTE
 When you are not using the Bluetooth feature, you can turn off the
Bluetooth function to save battery power.
Inquiry Audio Device
You can select this option to search for and connect to a compatible Bluetooth
headset.
NOTE
 This option is only for Bluetooth headset inquiry. To search other
Bluetooth devices such as phone or PC, go to My Device  Inquiry new
device.
Remote Control
You can select this function to remotely control a compatible PC by the phone.
After pairing the phone with your PC, select Remote control and then select
Desktop, Media player or Presenter for related operations.

My Device
You can check all Bluetooth devices already connected to the PC, and search
for new Bluetooth devices for connection.
Inquiry New Device
1. Put the Bluetooth device as near as possible to the phone when you start to
search for the Bluetooth device.
2. Confirm that your phone and the Bluetooth device are both turned on.
Make sure your phone is in the Bluetooth mode.
3. Select Inquiry new device to search for the Bluetooth device.
4. After the desired Bluetooth device is found, tap Bond. If a Bluetooth
password is required, enter the same password both in the Bluetooth device
and the phone. You can also refer to the User Guide of the Bluetooth device
for Bluetooch connection instructions.
5. The phone and the selected device will be paired and connected. If the
pairing attempt fails, try again or change to another device.
Options
Select a paired device in the list of My Device, and then tap Options for the
following options:
Connect: Select a service type to connect to the selected Bluetooth device.
Set as default handsfree headset: If the device that you have successfully
connected to is a headset, you can choose this option to set the Bluetooth
headset as the default handsfree headset. You can select Disconnect to
terminate the headset connection.
Rename: Rename the device.
Delete: Delete the selected device from My Device list.

Delete all: Delete all devices from My Device list.


Service list: You can view and update the service list.
Active Device
You can view details about the currently active Bluetooth device and service
type. You can tap Disconnect to terminate the connection.
Settings
Visibility
You can set your phone to Visible to other Bluetooth devices or not. If you set
Visibility to On, other devices can search for your phone as a Bluetooth device.
You can only change this option when Bluetooth is activated.
Change Device Name
You can change the device name. When other Bluetooth devices are searching
for your phone, the device name of the phone will be displayed.
Authentication
Set Authentication to On or Off. You can only change this option when
Bluetooth is activated.
If Authentication is set to On, other Bluetooth devices are required to enter the
password when pairing with your phone. If Authentication is set to Off, other
Bluetooth devices are free to connect to your phone.

Audio Path
When the Bluetooth headset is connected and paired, you can set the audio
path to Leave in phone or Forward to Bluetooth headset.
FTP Settings
You can set Shared folder and its Access right during Bluetooth transmission.
BIP Settings
Basic Image Profile (BIP) settings allow you to appoint a file folder to establish
data transmissions with other Bluetooth devices that support BIP.
Remote SIM Mode
Remote SIM mode allows your car kit to make or receive a call using the SIM
card installed in the phone, or access the phonebook stored in the SIM card.
While this mode is set to On, you cannot use your mobile phone to make or
receive calls, except for emergency calls.
To use the Remote SIM mode in your phone with a compatible car kit: Enable
Bluetooth  search for car kit  turn on Remote SIM mode  start the
pairing initiation from the car kit.
About
This menu will display related information and supported services of Bluetooth.

My Files

My Files
You can sort and manage important files in My Files.
In the Standby Mode, tap Menu  My Files  Phone or Memory card 
tap Options for the following options:
Open: Open and view the created folders or files included. Select a sub-folder
or file and then tap Options for:
Open: Open the selected folder or file.
New folder: Create a new folder.
Rename: Rename the selected folder or file.
Delete: Delete the selected folder or file.
Sort by: Sort the folders or files by name, type, time or size.
New folder: Create a new folder.
Format: Delete all recorded data. Caution must be used to prevent the deletion
of data files in storage.
When you open a specific file, you can tap OK Key for related action (e.g. Play)
or tap Options for the following options (options may be varied according to
different files):
View: View the selected file.
Play: Play the selected file.
Mark: Select desired files at the same time for more operations. You can mark
one file or several files.
Image info: View detailed information of the selected image file.
Edit: Select Auto resize or Main LCD clip to edit the selected image file.
Forward: Forward the selected file to User profiles, Background sound, MMS,
Email, Bluetooth, etc. The available items will vary according to different
files selected.

Print: Print out the selected file when connected with a printer.
Details: Displays detailed information (Date, Size or Copyright) of the
selected file.
Rename: Rename the file.
Copy: Copy the file(s) to another folder or storage.
Move: Move the file to another folder or storage.
Delete: Delete the selected file.
Delete all files: Delete all files in the folder.
Sort by: Sort files by name, type, time or size.

Text Entry
When you edit a message or select a field that requires text or numbers, you can
tap the keys and icons on the virtual keyboard displayed at the bottom of the
screen to enter desired characters or numbers.

Input Methods
Available input methods include ABC, abc and Numeric. You can select
Options  Input method or tap the Input Method icon on the screen to
select the desired input method.
