INTRODUCTION
An apartment is a multi unit dwelling ,each unit consists of living room dining
room ,kitchen ,bed rooms etc .an apartment may be owned by a person or rented.
Apartments may be useful in housing more number of families in small area for
any social and economic groups .its history goes back to ancient Rome where tall
buildings (6 to 9 storey) were used by middle class people for living and ground
floors for shops. Similar buildings can be seen in Egypt Cairo. Buildings named
Shibam used to be 7 to 14 storey high and made of mud bricks can be found in
Yemeni city.
SITE ANALYSIS
The site is located in king’s way near hotel yak and yeti. The site is approached
through motor way connected perpendicular to the main road and measures
150’*90*.This site has high commercial value and appropriate for residential
purpose hence it can good decision to construct an apartment building in this
location.
Presently Korean restaurant is placed at this site .it has entrance gate at north
adjoining to that of hotel yak and yeti. Residential; buildings and apartments
(landmark) are along the periphery of this site.
The site had some aspects like narrow entrance and access road. No vegetation,
other buildings are located close to the site which will lead to traffic congestion
during rush hour, difficulty during entry and exit, lack of privacy, block of view.

DESIGN CONCEPT
The concept of building is a response to the changing time .As time passes by many
things change and is changing. Simply the present trend of residing in apartments
is related to change in time. As we know the change in time is marked by day and
nights which is ultimately due to movement of heavenly bodies like sun earth etc
.The movement of these used spherical objects are represented by circle and its
changing form .F low to curve intended to create in plan which represent flow of
time.
DESIGN PROCESS
Following concept and consideration the whole design process is conducted .This
apartment is designed to create link between outside world and people residing in
the apartment. The facilities in the apartment will draw outsiders and create link.
Gym and retailers store along with reception and waiting /sitting area is provided in
the ground floor, while restaurants and daycare at first floor , apartments units with
3bed room and 2 bed rooms are provided in 2nd to 6th and 9th floor.7th,8th and 10th
floor is provided with 3 bed room apartment units and two single bed room
apartment .A duplex unit with two bed room is placed at 11th 12th floor .A
community office is also provided at 12th floor .13th floor has facilities of sauna ,spa
and laundry .Overhead water tank will be provided at the top floor.

BUILDING SERVICES
WATER DEMAND
Daily water demand =200 lpcd
419 sq ft area has been separated on top floor which will be capable to store
1254000 liters of water sufficient for a week.
According to calculation single lift is sufficient to carry 185 persons in peak hour of
9am to 10am but two lifts are used for using during failure and reduce unnecessary
delay.
