of a wedding unexpectedly increased by 34% from $16,546 in the second quarter of 2009 to
$22,121 in the third quarter of 2009. These results were based on survey samples of both

You may recall that the average cost of a wedding declined 14% from the first to second quarter
of 2009. The year started out with an average wedding cost of $19,212 and then fell to $16,546
