Summary of Inspection

· Department. Performs supervisory functions at the level established by Management,

reporting directly to Head of Corrosion & Inspection.
· Supervises the inspection and certification of all plant and equipment in the Plant and
ensuring the reports are compliance as per code Requirement
· Plans, establish and supervise Plant Inspection scheduling, reporting and recording systems to
confirm to the requirements / accepted code of practice for inspection and testing. It includes
liaising with the Planning Department for scheduling of equipment due for inspection and
maintaining on-stream programme of all Plants.
· In-service – Baseline / corrosion monitoring / Asset Integrity, Risk Base Inspection, Pre Turn
around Testpack preparation
· Sets up and maintains comprehensive records of all Plant and equipment and compiles
technical reports and memoranda for Management review as reported through Head of
Corrosion & Inspection.
· Assesses and advises the need for the services of specialist contractors and the
capability of potential contractors to satisfy such needs.
· Provides technical advice to ensure compliance with accepted Company Standards.
- Maintains Plant and Equipment ‘overdue for inspection schedules and takes appropriate
control action
· Reviews all new and modification development work to advice on construction standards,
material selection and testing requirements in line with company and international standards.
· Ensures that safe operating and maintenance procedures related to inspection activities are
followed, and counsels employees about compliance with safe working procedures as
necessary.

· Carries out other related or similar duties, such as enforcing safe maintenance procedures
co-coordinating welder performance testing, preparing various specialized, technical and
engineering reports, etc.
· Arrange for physical random and periodical inspections of all facilities, structures and
equipment, accordingly assess the condition of all plant, recommend repair or replacement
where necessaryand specify inspection method(s) and frequency(ies) appropriate to the
condition of the equipment.
·Investigate failures of plant facilities and equipment to identify causes and raise
recommendations with the objective of preventing reoccurrence.
·Assist the inspectors in writing technical reports and failure analysis reports.
·Evaluate and approve inspection reports and report all abnormal findings to head of section.
·Assists Project section on needed basis regarding approval of vendor documents for
new equipment.
·Participate in technical discussion to arrive at consensus with other sections for the
effective implementation of inspection recommendations for the safe operation of the plant
