Three Bead, Two-Needle Netting Technique, similar to two-needle peyote. This one is a simpler version
of the shaman’s Windows design, or Nierika, and is worked in size 11beads.
Materials:
Step by Step
The bracelet’s stitched portion is 6 ½ in. (.16m) long with 12 design repeats. Add or remove complete design
units to change the size. To substitute 15 beads for the 11 use finer thread and add repeats to increase the
length.
Netting
When you work with two needles, it’s easier to have the working needle on the right-hand side when you
start each row, so you can work the row from right to left (just the opposite for lefties).
1. Cut 6 yd. (5.5m) of thread. Start at the center and wind half the thread onto cardboard as a temporary
bobbin. Thread a needle on both ends od the thread.
Row 1, Right-hand - First Needle (Figure 1, a-b): Pick up 2B and 1P five times, then 4B. Slide these
against the bobbin.
Row2, First needle (b-c): a. 2P, go through the end P on the previous row.
b. 3P, go through the next P, repeat three more times.
c. 2P and slide against the other beads. Undo the bobbin.
Row 3, Second needle (a-f): a. 2B, through the end P.
b. 2P, M, through P.
c. M, T, M, through P.
d..M, G, M. through P.
e. M, T, M, through P.
f. M, 2P through the last P on row 2.
Clasp
1. Start with a least 18 in. (.5M) of thread. Exit through a black bead on the short edge (figure 3,a).
2. String four black beads, an 8mm bead, and a 2mm bead. Go back through the 8mm bead, string four
black beads, and go through the second black bead of the base pair (a-b). Go through the beads again to
reinforce them.
3. Skip two pairs of black beads and repeat step 2. Secure the thread.
4. Anchor a new thread at the other end and exit a black bead as in step 2 (figure 4, a). String 19 black beads
(the loop has to go over the 8mm bead) and go through the second black bead of the base pair (a-b). Go
through the loop again.
5. Skip two pairs of black beads and make a second loop as in step 3. Secure the thread in the netting.
