JOB DESCRIPTION
1- MISSION:
As a support to Program and Business Line Management, manage the contractual business
relationship with the customers and industrial partners of the Company
Establish and negotiate the contractual agreements of the Company (such as MOU, LTPA,
Contracts …) and the amendments of these contractual documents
Sign in accordance with the delegation of authority and associated approval process and store
all the contractual documents
Ensure the positive relationship with the Commercial Department of the Shareholder
Organization
In support of Program Management, administer the Sales (OEM, spares, repair and overhaul,
services …) and ensure that the PO are consistent with the contractual agreements
Lead and manage the Sales Administration team
Define, maintain and improve the bid process of the Company and ensure the respect of this
process
The Contract Manager is the Company focal point for the treatment of all contractual issues
The Contract Manager manages the contractual relationship with the customers and industrial
partners and with the Canadian government representative in charge of the funding programs.
Ensure the respect of all the contractual obligations and ensure customers meet their
contractual obligation.
Along with Program Management, ensure the effectiveness of the contractual risks
management activities and the associated corrective actions
Ensure a high quality level of the relationships with the customer and the industrial partners in
order to perpetuate or improve these relationships,
Collect and organize the information relative to the customers needs including those relative to
new business opportunities
Contribute to the business development of the company
Mentor his/her Sales Administration team and actively develop their competence
Ensure Sales administration in an accurate and timely manner : Obtain the PO from the
customers, verify the PO consistency with the contract, ensure that the PO are correctly taken
into account by the supply chain, inform the customer of the advancement
Conduct an investigation concerning the technical changes or disputes, and perform the
negotiation of the contract amendments or extension within the mandate given by the program
management or the upper management level
Manage invoices from generation to payment
Manage all the documents issued by the Customers and prepare the answers according the
contractual relationship and the directive from the program management or the upper
management level
Perform the reporting and establish the dashboard relative to the contract and sales activities
Ensure the respect of the Bid Process
Other duties as required
3 - MEANS:
The Contracts Manager is supported by a team for the Sales administration. The members of
this team report to the Contracts Manager
For specific purpose such as IP protection and Company liabilities, the Contract Manager has
the support of an external lawyer
4 – EFFICIENCY CRITERIA:
Notes:
Should have a Bachelor or Masters Degree
At least 10 years experience in Aero/Defence of similar industry
Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills applied to commercial topics (negotiation,
sales, estimating and pricing)
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills – and be highly capable in message
formulation and communication to customers
Must have demonstrated leadership capability
Must have fluency in formulating and evaluation commercial aerospace/defence contracts including
working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Procurement laws.
Must have advanced skills in computing, and must be able to work efficiently mining information from
large data sets
Must be a mission oriented team player
Must have courage and tact necessary to safeguard company’s interests while maintaining
constructive relationships with customers.
