The original Slack House building was built by

Dr. George A. Slack, Lakeside's first physician,

as his residence and office and occupied this

site from 1891 to 1961. Over the years, it has

also served as a boardinghouse and cafeteria

where the community gathered. The Slack

House is still an anchor for Lakeside; a place

for our neighboring communities along the

shore to come together and celebrate our

shared history.

In an effort to preserve our past and protect

our future, a portion of revenue from the Slack

House Historical Cafe will be donated to

ecological and environmental initiatives that

benefit Lake Erie and all those who live here or

simply come to play.
