Introduction
This portfolio is designed to show potential employers the skills that I have and why I am a
good choice for the role that I may be applying for. It allows them to make a judgement on
whether I will be a suitable applicant out of the many people who will also be applying.

1. Home Page
The website will include a homepage which will introduce the audience to what the site is

about. About me which explains what type of person I am and some of my hobbies. Future

plans which allow people to understand where I plan to go in the future. Units which

shows all of my work organised into different subfolders for quick access. And finally a

contact section which will allow people to get into contact with me if needed.

I am 19 years old and I love everything computing, which is why I chose to take computing

as a course at college. I also have many hobbies such as pc building, riding electric vehicles,

and software installation which gives me a wide area of interest.

The profile page shows information abou8t myself and anything that employers may need

to know such as my age, name, hobbies, etc.

2.1. About Me.

My name is Bradley Hosker I am 19 years old. I have been to high crags primary school,

salts upper school, went to bradford college for 2 years to study electrical engineering.

I study level 2 IT in Shipley College, I plan on going level 3 IT if I pass english and maths, and

I selected IT because I love to mess around with computers, everything from building PCs

and fixing software issues with friends, or just gaming daily. I have come to enjoy IT.

2.2. Purpose..

I have created this portfolio to demonstrate my skills of producing high quality work and

show that I can complete any task I am given. It will help employers and friends

understand what type of person I am and hopefully allow them to make a better

judgement on me.

It will be split into different sections which will be grouped under a specific item such as

units where a dropdown will appear and allows you to select any of the completed units as

supposed to single documents.

I have chosen to include certain work because it showcases my potential and shows that I

am capable of maintaining a high standard of work quality.

3. Future Page.

The future page shows what I plan on doing in the future of my career such as going into a

job or advancing onto level 3 in IT it shows what my progression will be if I have access to

the right grades.

I believe that planning is a very important aspect of anything that you do in life, such as the

portfolio. It allows me to change and adapt aspects of the work to fit any need that I want.

It also reduces mistakes because you already know what you are going to add to the work

and how to structure it and so my mistakes will be to a minimum.

In the future I am going to organise all of my completed work into the mentioned

dropdown menu and make sure that anyone can access the information easily without any

confusion.

3.1 Next Steps

The next thing that I want to do in my career is to hopefully advance to level 3 IT which is

dependent on my English and Maths grades. If I don’t get to move onto level 3 then I would

want to work for an IT company that builds and repairs computers, or either the software

side of them such as software installation, online help, in person help etc.

I will achieve these goals in a few ways and one of them is by showing my commitment by

working as hard as I can to get the grades that I deserve, this makes sure that any grade

that I get is the best I could have got and I know I couldn't have tried and harder.

3.2 Five Year Plan

In 5 years I hope to be working in the computing industry as stated above and hope to have

a job that I enjoy as opposed to barely getting through. I will achieve this by working as

hard as possible now ensuring that in the future all of my hard work gets recognised and

employers see me as a suitable applicant for the job.

3.3 Ten Year Plan

Same as the 5 year plan I still hope to be in a stable job and want to be seen as a hard

working and skillful employee. I will achieve this by trying my best to keep on top of all of

my work and making sure that I dont give them any excuses to give someone else my job.

4. Units.
I will be studying 6 unity on this course, Units 1,2,3,9,11,13 and each one of them will be

teaching new skills such as networks and online communication.

4.1 Unit 1 - The online world

This unit is about the online world and includes things like online communication between

different computers or the use of the internet in our daily lives which we take for granted.

4.2 Unit 2 - Technology Systems

This unit is all about systems in businesses such as retail and how they use technology in

daily life such as cctv in retail to help prevent crime. This unit allows us to understand how

different businesses use technology in different ways.

Unit 3 - Digital Portfolio

This unit is about an online website which allows anyone wanting information about me to

have a well structured and easy to access database of everything that I have completed

throughout the units and they can see if I need help or need to add anything.

This unit is about different types of computer networks such as PAN, LAN, MAN, WAN and

how they communicate and share information between multiple different networks. This

network knowledge will allow me to understand how different servers connect together

and share resources.

4.5 Unit 13 - Website Design

This unit is about designing an online website that allows us to have all of our completed

work organized into one area so that it can be easily accessed and graded. It shows anyone

that needs any information about any work I have completed or my information in an easy

to access and well structured place.

5. Design Justification.
I have chosen the screen designs above because it makes navigating the website easy and

efficient for anyone accessing it, this shows to employers that I have thought about the

user experience of other users and catered to their needs on my work. The website is

suitable to employers because all of the information is well laid out and easy to access

meaning they don't have to search for something they need to access.

Also write about how the assets you used enhance the user experience.

6. Alternate Designs

I chose not to go with this design because I wanted my homepage to be clean and

minimalistic allowing people to easily navigate my website without being distracted by

other information. Also I didn’t like how the navigation buttons were sticking far down into

the screen because it looks unprofessional and basic.

I also didn’t choose this sort of design because I didn’t want my navigation buttons to be

below my title because I want them to be the first thing people notice and also be out of

the way and not interfering with other parts of the page. I also didn’t like the fact that I had

boxes with information just placed in an empty space with nothing around them to make

them fit in.

Your storyboard is good, each thing is made to stand out and you have used your
colours well and have ensured every separate detail is made to stand out in its own way.
I would recommend adding some detail to the Units page, users mainly will use the
navigation bar and the drop enu to access the unit pages however if they do happen to
click on the actual Units page, they wouldn't like to be met with an empty page. I also
suggest you add some images that are appropriate to make your website and
storyboard stand out more.

13. Conclusion.
I havelearned many things from completing this assignment and one of the main things

that stands out to me is the fact that I have managed to improve my reliability for getting

work completed and finalised much quicker and more efficiently.

This shows that I have retained information wel and are able to easily get the information

written down on a document.
