What’s Happening Around Town
God’s tender mercies are new every morning,
and I trust He has reminded you of His good-
ness in many ways this week! We began the
week with a wonderful Valentine’s Day party,
complete with ice cream sundaes, silly games,
and great fellowship! A great big round of ap-
plause goes up to Mrs. Kolln, Mrs. Winkel, Mrs.
Miller, Mrs. Rojas, and Mrs. Myers for their
help! I believe everyone really enjoyed the party!
I am also pleased to report that the students
continue to do a great job this week with Mrs.
Chomic as their substitute teacher. She has left
encouraging words about the students each day
this week, and it is a blessing to know that the
kids are working together so well with her! I
hope to return on Tuesday, and I trust you and
your child will also be able to get some extra rest
and enjoy the long, extended weekend as we cele-
brate President’s Day with a day off of school!
As we close out the last full week of Febru-
ary, we will be studying Italy, forms of water
transportation, addition fact families 1-7, count-
ing by ones, tens, and twos, and reviewing special
sounds ck (in duck), o (in go), e (in me), y (in fly),
and ay (in pray) in phonics. Though I haven’t had
the opportunity to hear students read much this
week, I would ask that you would continue to
faithfully read with your child! Feel free to prac-
tice older reading material or adventure forward
a couple of pages if you want a little challenge
this weekend! Please read for enjoyment too!

Answers to Questions on the Ranch
A: Well, I can say we are definitely not in the
lead, and I am okay with that thought. Howev-
er, we have contributed a very little amount of
money, and it would be wonderful if we could
round up a bit more change to give to the
fund to help future ACA students who will be
unable to afford tuition on their own next
year without a little help from us! So, would
you please consider digging out some pennies,
nickels, dimes, quarters, or maybe even a few
bills to help us help others? The all-school coin
contest runs through the end of the month,
and we would greatly appreciate your help!
A: Conferences will be held
and . You will be scheduled
at the same time slot as you signed up for dur-
ing fall conferences, so if you had a conference
on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the fall, you
will have your spring conference at 6:30 p.m. on
Thursday, March 10. I will try to send several
reminders in the upcoming weeks as to your
conference time slot, and you are welcome to
let me know if you need other accommodations!
I should also mention that will be

due to kindergarten round-up!
 Spotlighting Students and Volunteers
Thank you to Mrs. Kolln, Mrs. Miller, Mrs.
Myers, Mrs. Rojas, and Mrs. Winkel for help-
ing with our party on Valentine’s Day! I also
greatly appreciate everyone who contributed
to the party! I am especially grateful for the
joy jar that I received at the party! It was won-
derful surprise! I have enjoyed reading a heart
a day! Thank you for the kind words of en-
couragement and blessing!
I’d also like to update you again on snacks!
We have had so many individuals contribute to
our snack “collection,” and the snack sign-up
sheet is filled for several weeks to come! So,
thank you for your willingness to help! You
can check back on our sign-up sheet, which is
located outside the classroom, to volunteer!

A Bible Course Map for the Upcoming Week
Monday: No school
Tuesday: (Beside a Pool - Lk. 5:17-26 and Jn. 5:1-16)
Jesus heals a man who had been unable to walk
for 38 years. This man did not have any friends to
help him into the pool of healing, which he laid
next to for many years, until Jesus came along
one day. Jesus healed the man, and he went
home with joy but was stopped by the Jewish reli-
gious leaders for carrying his mat on the Sabbath.
Jesus later found the man at the temple, and He
talked with the man about being forgiven of his
sins. Jesus proved, yet again, He is God by healing
and, more importantly, saving him.
Wednesday: Chapel review and extension.
Thursday: (Cleansing the Temple - Jn. 2:13-25) Je-
sus went to the Temple in Jerusalem, the most
holy building where Jews went to make sacrifices
for their sin three times a year. However, the
Temple had been turned into a market where mon-
eychangers, who did not love God, were cheating
the Jews out of their money as they bought ani-
mals to sacrifice. Jesus became angered by their
sin, so He made a whip and swung it about to
force all of the animals and moneychangers out of
the Temple. He told the religious leaders they
were using the Temple the wrong way, and He
told them He, as God, had the right to be hon-
ored in His house. We, too, should enter God’s
house with respect to worship Him.
