CHILDREN’S MESSAGE
The Mission of the Month for February is Family Promise
(Salem County). The mission of Family Promise is “to help
homeless families achieve and sustain their independence.”
Family Promise is a non-profit organization that is
committed to providing temporary overnight
accommodations, meals, and assistance to homeless families.
With the help of trained volunteers and support from
religious congregations, civic organizations and local schools,
FPSC reaches out to displaced families with compassion and
acceptance. The network provides a safe haven to stay while
they try to find affordable housing, social service, and/or
permanent employment. This organization is also comitted
to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence.
Please keep this ministry in your prayers. If you would like
to make a donation there are preprinted envelopes in the
narthex. Feel free to take one.
Join us for a prayer time every Sunday morning in the
youth lounge before church at 9:20am. We will begin
praying by 9:30 am.
There are 8 assisted listening devices available for people to
better hear the worship service. They are located in a
basket in the narthex. Please return the devices to the
basket at the conclusion of worship. CD copies of our
worship service are available every Sunday in the narthex.

Tomorrow, February 21 – President’s Day Project
Join Pastor Julia and the youth as we go to St. Theresa’s
Good Shepherd dining room in Bridgeton. We will leave the
church around 10am and return by 2 pm. We will be helping
to prepare and serve a meal for the many adults and children
that will visit St. Theresa’s on the 21st. Please donate paper
towels, plastic bags (grocery store), and any gently used
clothes/books/toys/Bibles/etc. Bring them to church next
Sunday and leave them in the narthex or in the social hall
and mark them “St. Theresa’s”. Let us know today if you
would like to join us!

The Mission meeting will now be held on Monday,
February 28th at 7:30 pm.
The flowers this morning are presented in honor of Evie
William’s and Dave Ewart’s birthdays by Sam Ewart & family.
Crock Pot Creations and Talent Show – March 13th-5pm
We are going to be voting for the best crock pot
creations…soups, deserts, chicken, lasagna, or whatever you
can create! There are forms located in the narthex. Please
fill one out and return it to Dana or it can be placed into the
offering plate if you can help in some way. We also need
people willing to entertain us. If you have a talent you are
willing to share please sign up for the talent show. Feel free
to sign up as a group or as an individual. We will also be
having a silent auction on gift baskets and items. If you
have a gift basket or item (or gift/talent or service) you
would like to donate please let us know. What wonderful
night to come out for fellowship and for supporting our
youth. Please plan to attend!
30 Hour Famine: The Youth Group will be participating this
year in the 30 Hour Famine to help raise money for World
Vision in order to help fight hunger. It is being held this
coming Friday, February 25-26. Volunteers are needed to
stay with the group for blocks of time. Please see the sign
up sheet in the narthex.
Attention all Compassion International Sponsors.
Compassion Sunday is April 3rd. This year Ken & Donna will
be collecting pictures of your sponsor children. They are
putting together a world map and would like to show how the
church reaches around the world with missions by sponsoring
children. Please give your pictures to either Ken or Donna at
your earliest convenience.
A very special thank you to Harold Ware for playing
during Margaret’s absence.
Home Groups for Growth
If you would like an opportunity to grow during this Lenten
season we are hoping to begin a “home group” in Pastor Julia
and Joe’s home. We would like to have at least 10 people to
join us (more would be welcome!) as we meet together on
Sunday nights from 6-7:30 for fellowship, prayer and a brief
devotional. Of course we’ll also have a time of
refreshments! Children are also welcome to come and will be
“entertained” by Anna, John and Joshua in a separate room.
The early church met in homes as they grew to know and
love the Lord together. Meeting in homes is a great way to
get to know one another better and to challenge each other
to be all we can for God! If you are interested please sign
up in the narthex or please talk to Pastor Julia or Joe. If
we do not get at least 6-8 other interested people we will
wait to begin until we have a sizable group. Couples,
Families, Individuals, Neighbors and Friends are all welcome
to attend!
We are currently planning on studying some of the ideas
from the book “Gospel in Life: Grace Changes Everything” by
Timothy Keller . You will not need to purchase the book.
THE FOLLOWING MEETING DATES ARE CURRENTLY
BEING PLANNED: March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3, 10, 17.
Why not invite a friend, neighbor or family member to
church this winter! It has been wonderful to see our
attendance growing in our 10 am worship but there is always
room for more! Please contact Pastor Julia if you would like
a pastoral visit or know someone who is in need of one.
