On Thursday, February 24 we will host a MS Parent Coffee starting at 15 Parent Teacher Conferences
7:45 A.M. in the Little Theater. The topic of discussion is connecting 18 Activity Period (1:20 P.M.)
and communicating with your child. We hope you will join us.

MATHCOUNTS ANNOUNCEMENT
MATHCOUNTS is back on for semester 2. Your child can join the fun as we
explore cool math problems and throw in some real-life puzzles in the mix.
Plus, there is the chance to represent ISM in May at the National Competi-
tion at Disney World, Florida, USA. It is in room 2067, Hgh School Faculty
Tower, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. They need to bring their calculator and
check out the blog at Mathcounts (ism-online.org).

MATHCOUNTS CHAPTER COMPETITION is on Friday, February 25th, 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in room 1057. This
is your child’s chance to make the MATHCOUNTS school team (top 8 scores make it) and to possibly represent
ISM at the National Competition at Disney World, Florida. They need to bring their calculator with them.
Please tell your child to see me during MATHCOUNTS for more details.
We are looking for volunteers to help us in the Grade 8 end of the year activities. If you would like to help,
please attend our first meeting on March 17, 2011, Thursday at 7:30
A.M. in the Middle School Office.

Please Note: If your child is 9 years old or below and receiving their flu vaccination for the first time, a
second vaccination will be required at least 4 weeks later. If there are sufficient numbers, I
will arrange for this to be available in school, if not, you will need to make alternative ar-
rangements with your own health care provider. The above price is per individual vaccine.
If you would like more information about the above vaccine, please contact the clinic on the number/email
below or call in to pick up a registration form (next to the elementary canteen). Only people with a valid
ISM ID may participate in this program.
PAYMENT FOR THESE VACCINATIONS MUST BE MADE TO THE CASHIER BY NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 4TH MARCH,
2011. VACCINES WILL THEN BE ORDERED AND NO FURTHER REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Dear Parents
A regular reminder – please check that your child’s vaccinations are up-to-date. This is the first line of
defense against a number of serious diseases and I encourage you to visit your pediatrician if you feel that
your child may be due for any vaccinations.
The following link will give you access to current US vaccination schedules which may be used a guide. Most
countries have similar schedules and advocate a similar regime. If in doubt, please visit your pediatrician
or ask at the school clinic for contact details if you do not already have a pediatrician.
