Dear Students

Last 40 days are sufficient to prepare for CET. To achieve that you need to make use of the available
time in the best possible way and need to do a focused study.

Kindly see the attached file which contains breakup of the last 6 six years CET papers. The following
allotment of marks remains the same for all the areas hence we can conclude the same for the coming
CET.

Looking at that we can conclude that allotment of marks for each area is almost fixed and we can predict
this year paper also.

Pure Maths : 20 Marks

Data Interpretation : 20 Marks

DS (Quant Based) : 5 Marks

Reading comprehension : 15 Marks

Verbal Ability : 35 Marks

Analytical Reasoning : 60 Marks

Verbal reasoning : 20 Marks

Visual Reasoning : 30 Marks

Next two weeks should be utilized for preparing the basic concepts concerning all the areas.

Pure Maths :

• Solve exercise 21 to 40 From SM 521104 . This will take care of BODMAS and Approximation as
well as Quantitative comparison. Solve one exercise every alternate day. Solve at least 10
exercises.
• CAT + CET Students can practice these types of questions from AMMCETs and MTs as they have
already done quant at a very high level during their CAT preparation.
• Solve Percentage, Profit and Loss topic fully as basics of this topic will help you to solve DI
questions quickly
• Solve all questions pertaining to permutation, combination and Probability.
• For rest topics just do basic concepts.

Data Interpretation :
• You must know percentage equivalent reciprocals up to 1/15 ie ½ = 50 % , 1/3 = 33.33 % and so
on.
• From the speed Maths book practice following types of questions
1. Addition/Subtraction of 4 to 5 numbers of three and four digits
2. a % of b = ?
3. a/b = ?
• Solve all classroom Handouts first ie. DIHO, DEXs and DATs
• Attend DI workshop in which we will discuss few concept based types which were asked in CET
in last 5 years.

Data Sufficiency :

• DSHO 1 and DRHO 1 handout.

Analytical Reasoning :

• Solve all the chapters from SM 521106 except chapter 6 ( Clocks) and chapter 7 ( calendars)
• From chapter 7 solve Q. No. 1 to 5 and 22.
• While solving these topics make note of landmark questions which will help you while doing
revision in the last week.

Verbal reasoning :

• Solve all classroom handouts ie. LAHO 521108 to LAHO 521111. After that solve questions from
AMMCETs. If you getting 3 to 4 correct out of set of 5 questions then solve all verbal reasoning
exercises from SM 520909. If not then first attend Verbal reasoning workshop and then Start
solving SM 520909 book.
• For additional practice you can solve exercises from TPB 520903

Visual Reasoning:
• Solve LAHO 521112 to 521115.
• Also solve questions from AMMCETs on regular basis.
• At this stage do not solve SM 521108
Analysis :
After solving the above mentioned material and analyzing AMMCETs you need to divide the topics in
four regions on the basis of speed of solving and accuracy in that topic.

Low Speed High Speed

High Accuracy High Accuracy

Low Speed High Speed

Low Accuracy Low Accuracy

• High Speed and High Accuracy : This is your strong area. You need to perform in the same
manner till your final paper.

• Low Speed and High Accuracy : As speed is low you need to practice more questions from these
areas and work on how you can reduce time taken for solving questions. If required be talk to
your faculty members for short cuts.

• High Speed and Low Accuracy : You need to revisit your basics and classroom notes. Attend all
workshops.

• Low speed and Low Accuracy : Revisit the basics and practice few questions so that you can
score at least 50% marks in these areas not spending more time.
Finalize your Strategy :

• Design strategy in such a way that there will be a time pressure throughout 150 minutes and not
in last 30 minutes.

• Rounds or Sequential

• Areas that you will attack first / last

• Areas that you will not attempt

• Attempt Visual reasoning at the last in 15 to 20 minutes and try to score 15 to 17 marks.

• Keep last 10 minutes for marking the answers for unattempted questions as there is no negative
marking.

• Be prepared for last minute changes.
