Church to meet
at Canterbury
The River Christian Church will begin meeting at
Canterbury High School, just south of the corner of
Covington and Smith Roads near Time Corners, on
March 6.
After launching nearly five years ago, The River has
continued to grow. From fewer than 100 people in atten-
dance that first Sunday, The River now reaches hundreds
of families, and offers programs for kids, pre-teens, teens
and adults. The River has also partnered in service proj-
ects with local schools, inner-city missions, and missions
around the world—including Mexico, Russia and
Uganda.
According to Mark Cleaveland, founder and lead pastor
at The River, “God placed a burden in me to gather
together as many other broken people as possible, who
were filled with life-baggage, with different life-stories,
with different strengths and current struggles. I want The
River to be a church that is refreshingly radical, authentic
and simple, a place where hundreds and even thousands
of people would begin to pursue God through Biblical
truth, genuine community, and life transformation.”
For more information about The River Christian
Church, visit www.theriverchurch.us or call Cleaveland at
227-0227.
