The Case of the Final Messiah

MUHAMMAD
VS
JESUS
Thalha Aboo Yoosuf
The Case!

The case is to define, discuss and decide in whose favour, whether

Muhammad or Jesus the bell rings to confirm the final Apostleship of God.

The reader should study the case in detail, weigh the claims of both sides

and come to a decision.

Let the reader be the Judge!

-1-

The Muslim version

Islam bases its belief in the Oneness of God. ‘God, our Lord is One and one
only; He neither begets nor begotten’ (Al-Quran CXII:3; Bible Deuteronomy
6:4, Mark 12:19) For a Muslim the incarnation theory in whatever form, is not
acceptable.

God has sent His messengers to all sections of mankind, as He says in the
Quran ‘Verily we have raised in every nation a Messenger (proclaiming)
worship of God (Allah) and shun false gods.’ (Quran 16:36). As such Abraham,
Jacob, Noah, Hud, Saleh, Elijah, Elisha, David, Moses and Jesus and finally
Muhammad are the chosen Prophets of God, proclaiming His message and
calling upon the nations to surrender to Him-‘aslamthu ilallah' , from where
Islam is born and its name derived!

Each one of the total One hundred and twenty-four thousand Prophets was
assigned a specific territory to carry out the Proclamation. For Jesus it was
Israel, the destination (Mathew 15:24), where eleven Prophets in the
descandency of Jacob, otherwise called ‘Israel’ preceded him. Jesus himself
declared that he was sent to ‘the lost sheep of Israel’ and none other than the
Israelites he preached or proclaimed what he carried then!

On the other hand the mission of Muhammad the ‘periklutos’ or the ‘other
Comforter’ foretold by Jesus, was awaited to be Universal in character and in
fact proved to be so even in the very beginning of the Revelations of
Muhammad. He was commanded to “Say: O’ Mankind! Verily I am the
Messenger of Allah (God) to you all” (Al-Quran 7:158). And nowhere in the
Quran, a particular community, say for instance the Arabs are addressed to the
exclusion of all others, though Muhammad was born an Arab! The
Message addresses the whole world together. Hence Universal!
-2-

In the chain of God’s Messengers, Muhammad is the last of all and the seal
of Prophet-hood, to say so, that none either before or after Muhammad had ha
or shall have any claim to that office. And even the awaited second messianic
mission of Jesus son of Mary shall not be in any individual prophetic nature
but to carry out what Muhammad carried! Hence Muhammad is the Final
Messiah!
-3-

The Christian Version

Christianity puts forth that Jesus is god, that Jesus son of Mary is
also the son of God and the incarnated god on earth.

In the very beginning, to say that long before God started the
process of creation, Jesus was the ‘Word’ and that ‘Word’ was
with God and that ‘Word’ was god! (John 1:1).

Later on God, desiring an incarnation chose to enter the wombs of

mother Mary in the form of the Holy Ghost and came out to the
World with a human body and flesh and that is Jesus, the
incarnated god.

However the Unitarians, the first and primary sect of Christianity

say that Lord God is One and no more than Unity; that the earthly
Jesus was not god nor God’s incarnation but His Messenger to
Israel only! Thereby Unitarians reject in total the ‘trinity’ theory of
the other section, say the Catholics.

In short according to one view, Jesus was a ‘Word’ in the

beginning, kept in the safe custody of the real God and later
invaded this universe as Jesus, son of god. Yet the
Word+God+Son is one, to say 1+1+1 shall not constitute three but
one! An arithmetical non-sense!
-4-

According to the other claim Jesus was only a Messenger of God –

a Messenger sent to the ‘lost sheep of Israel’. He was crucified on
the cross by the then erring rulers and the mass. He will visit this
universe again. Hence the Final Messiah!
-5-

The Points in Issue for consideration of His Honour the

Reader!

From the above brief, the reader is left with the following
questions for a careful study to arrive at a justified verdict:

1. Is Jesus God?

2. Is Jesus son of God?

3. Is Jesus the ‘Word’?

4. Is Jesus part of the Trinity?

5. Is Jesus the promised ‘Periklutos’ or ‘that Prophet’ of John the

Baptist?

6. If not Jesus, can the gavel of His Honour the Reader strike in
favour of Muhammad?

The reader shall now proceed to study and scrutinise the evidence
adduced by both the parties and decide to himself who is the real
Final Messiah.

Let truth alone triumph!

Towards Understanding Islam

Islam is neither a religion nor Muhammad its founder. Islam is the only way
of life approved by God to lead the human race and the genies towards
perfection and nearness to God. Islam means ‘peace and surrender’ and its
followers ‘Muslims’ (the surrendered). Muslims strongly believe and testify
in the Oneness of the incomparable God, Who neither begets nor begotten.
The path of ‘shalom’ (Islam) spreads peace and universal brotherhood in this
world!

Islam believes in the Apostleship of all the One hundred and twenty-four
thousand Prophets including Abraham, David, Moses and Jesus.
Revelations of the Psalms, the Torah and the Gospels are called the ‘Books’
and all other revelations to the remaining Prophets are known as ‘Suhfs’
(Agamas) and all these things in their uncorrupted form are acceptable to a
Muslim. Islam testifies that the Quran revealed to Muhammad is the final
Message!

A Muslim believes that Quran being the final revelation from God is the seal
of all revelations. It adopts and incorporates with suitable modifications, all
the previous revelations. It is not the work of Muhammad but the truthful
Message of the Merciful God!

Muhammad – a Muslim agrees, accepts and testifies is the final Messenger

of God and there will be none after him in such capacity. Even the awaited
mission of Jesus to this planet Earth, would be to profess and preach the path
that he taught to Israel and Muhammad propagated to the whole world.
-7-

During his second visit, the Messiah Jesus will not bring any new ‘Book’ as
he did during his first messianic mission. The first mission of Jesus ending
with his elevation to the heavens had a limited coverage of Israel and aimed
to bring glad tidings to the Jews only. The awaited second visit would cover
the whole Universe, with glad tidings to everybody. This time Jesus will
preach ‘peace’ and total submission to the will of the Almighty and that is
‘Islam’!

The term Islam means complete and total submission to the will of the
Gracious God Almighty. The story of Abraham in the attempted and
renowned sacrifice of his ‘only son’ Ismael (Gen 16:15), is well explained
both in the Scriptures and the Quran. To clearly point out how Abraham
unconditionally carried out the command of God to sacrifice his son, God
selected and used the word aslama in the Quran and this is from where Islam is
born!

No one will disagree that Abraham had two sons Ismael and Isaac and none
will further disagree that Ismael is the first born. The Biblical description
of‘only son’ will apply to Ismael as at the time of the attempted sacrifice
Isaacwas not at all in existence, not even in the wombs of his mother Sarah.

Therefore the conclusion shall be that the Biblical reference of the ‘only son’
was Ismael and not Isaac. (Gen 22:2).
-8-

Muhammad and his lineage:

Muhammad was born in the tribe of Quraish to Abdullah and Aminah in the
year 670 AD. In Arab calendar this is called the Year of the Elephants
as in that year there was an unsuccessful attempt by a Yemeni king Abraha
with a battalion of elephants, to invade and capture the Ka’bah.

Muhammad’s father died while he was still in his mother’s wombs and his
mother followed suit during the very early childhood of Muhammad, leaving
him a total orphan. Muhammad grew in the custody of his grandfather Abdul
Muthalib and later after his death, Abu Talib, Muhammad’s uncle took care of
him.

To study the lineage of Muhammad would be interesting in the sense that it

leads to and connects Muhammad with Abraham through both of his sons
Ismael and Isaac. Moses and Jesus trace their lineage to Abraham through
Isaac only. For Muhammad, it is a miracle that he traced through both the
offspring of Abraham, the great forerunners of the Arabs and the Jews. It is
of necessity I propose to narrate the Biblical story of Isaac to show how the
tribe of Quraish descended from Abraham through Ismael and Isaac in
which Muhammad the miraculous was born.
-9-

The Blessings of Isaac!

The Genesis narration runs thus:

Isaac was older and blind. He realised that those were his last days. Before
death might invade him in an unexpected hour, Isaac decided to offer his
blessings to his ‘firstborn’ Esau, towards whom he was most affectionate.

None could ever doubt or even object to Esau inheriting the coveted
blessings of his father, it being his birthright according to the law then – to
inherit twice of others. Yet, Rebecca, Isaac’s wife, out of her extraordinary
love and affection towards her younger son Jacob – the very same ‘Israel’
after whom all the Israelites were so named and all the Jewish tribes
descended, was desirous of diverting the blessings to him, of course taking
advantage of the blindness of the good old seed of Abraham – Isaac!

The time ripened. Isaac summoned his son Esau and commanded him to go
for hunting to make a farewell feast to him. Esau obeyed his father’s wish
and proceeded for the hunt. Rebecca was overhearing the conversation
between them. She now staged her drama.

Rebecca directed the younger Jacob to go to the nearby flock and to fetch
her ‘two good kids of the goat’ (Gen. 27:9), which Jacob did.
The feast was over. The good old blind Isaac was ready to bless ‘his
firstborn’, thinking that the firstborn Esau had done the service as desired.
Yet Isaac’s firstborn was away at hunting!
-10-

Rebecca put the clothes of Esau on Jacob and even took care to cover his
hands with a nice hairy skin cloth (Gen. 27:15-16), all to cheat the old man
and to show that the one receiving his blessings was Esau, for the hands of
Esau were hairy and those of Jacob were ‘smooth as silk’, as the Royal Thai
Airways describe its flights!

Jacob moved to his father and sat before him, as Bible asserts, to receive his
blessings. Isaac embraced his son and even smelt his coat, to check the
identity of the one sitting before him to receive his blessings. He was
always doubtful of his spouse Rebecca and afraid she may even play a game
of impersonation. He checked the hands of Jacob to make sure that the one
sitting before him was Esau.

The hairy cloth gave the impression of the hands of Esau and the costume
the smell of Esau’s. Isaac sat confused for a while and even hesitated to
bless (Gen. 27:21-23). The Scriptures acknowledge that Isaac double-checked
to make certain that the one receiving his blessings was Esau, the firstborn and
not Jacob, the secondary!

Isaac’s suspicion was that his wife Rebecca could have attempted to divert
the blessings to Jacob, the younger, out of her affection to him, by using
third rate techniques.

The theory of diverting the blessings to whom it were not destined and
obtaining the blessings by deceitful means may not be acceptable to a
Muslim as well a modern thinker. A Muslim can not be compelled to
imagine that a Prophet so great as Jacob could have ever thought of such an
attempted or actual cheating.
-11-

Anyhow, as the Bible asserts, Isaac asked Jacob sitting before him,
disguising himself and impersonating Esau, “Are you Esau?” The answer
from the younger Jacob was in the affirmative! (Gen. 27:24). Can anyone, he
be a Muslim or Christian would ever imagine a celebrated Messenger of
God, obtaining the blessings by impersonation that too by cheating his own
father who was none other than a great Prophet of God? Can you further
imagine God to be so foolish to deliver the blessings to a person other than
the one to whom they were already destined and kept in store, not only by an
established law favouring the firstborn but also by God’s own commands?

No one can accept the theory of obtaining the blessings by impersonation as

the blessings were in favour of the firstborn and not in favour of the person
sitting in front of Isaac and blocking its course.

See how Isaac double checked to satisfy himself that the one sitting before him
was his firs-born Esau.

Genesis 27:19 - And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according
as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.

Genesis 27:21 - And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my
son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.

Genesis 27:22 - And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice
is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.

Genesis 27:23 - And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's
hands: so he blessed him.

Genesis 27:24 - And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.
-12-

It is not acceptable that a Prophet of God so great as Jacob, after whom the
whole clans of Israel are named so, could have played or even attempted to
stage such a drama, just to obtain the blessings of his father Isaac. A
Prophet of God ought not to have been demoted to such a bottom-line by
his own tribesmen and by the Bible writers, rather than Jesus, just to quench
their desires!

Jesus, if alive would not agree to bring down the status of his great
forerunner Israel to that of a ‘cheat’ and admit his forerunner to have
committed a crime of ‘cheating’, which even the man-made laws of the
world accept to be punishable!

We proceed on the Biblical lines and see the episode of blessings was over.
After the double-checking was done, the Bible ‘records’ Jacob being
blessed. And what was the blessing referred to?

We go back to the story of Abraham ad see God promising him and his
offspring a great nation and multitudes (Gen 13:16, 16:10 and 21:18). This
indicates that the descendant of Abraham should inherit the throne of the
final Messiah and the blessing denote that only. We scan the Quran for a
revelation that may decode the blessings referred to. We find a convincing
response in Sura 2, Verse 128-129, wherein we see to our astonishment,
Abraham and his firstborn Ismael joining hands soon after they completed
the renovation of the Grand Mosque at Mecca, known as the Kaba, praying
to God Almighty to reward them with the promised final Messiah to come
out of their offspring!
-13-

The prayer runs thus: “125. And We made the House at Mecca a resort and
sanctuary to the mankind, (saying): take as your place of worship the place
where Abraham stood (to pray). And We imposed a duty upon Abraham and
Ismael, (saying) Purify My House for those who go around and those who
meditate therein and those who bow down and prostrate themselves in
worship.

127. And when Abraham and Ismael were raising the foundations of the
House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept from us this (duty). Lo! Thou,
only Thou art the Hearer and the Knower.

128. Our Lord! Make us submisssive (Islam) unto Thee and of our seed a
nation submissive unto Thee and show us our ways of worship, and relent
toward us. Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Relenting and the Merciful.

129. Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them
who shall recite unto them thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the
Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. O! Thou, only Thou art
the Mighty, Wise”.

It is very clear from the above Quranic verses, that it were Abraham and
Ismael who rebuilt the Ka'ba, it were they who prayed for the Adon or the
Powerful Prophet to descend among the Arabs and from out of their own
blood and the religion of them is total submission to God.

Coming again to the Biblical narration and from the Genesis story, we are
quite convinced that the blessings of Isaac were fully aimed and centred at
Esau and at no point of time at Jacob. However the later Bible writers
managed, though not successful to put the blessings upon Jacob, by simply
making him sit in front of Isaac to receive them.
-14-

Blessings are something that emanate from the bottom of the heart and of
course one would agree that they must reach the person to whom they are
destined and not a human flesh sitting and blocking (!) its course. Here a
prudent mind would accept the intention (mens rea) is the material thing and
not the blockade made.

After finishing his task, Esau returned home and learned that the drama of
the mischief-mongers was over. Naturally Esau grew angry and left the
household. He is mentioned again in the Scriptures as returning home at the
time of his father’s death and once the burial was over we see him leaving
the home again.

The angered Esau was later seen marrying the daughter of his father’s
consanguine brother Ismael son of Abraham, the monotheist and Agar, the
Egyptian (Gen. 28:8,9). It was in this lineage the great forerunners of the
Arabs, Kedar and Kora were born. The tribe of Quraish is named after Kora.

We see in the beginning of Chapter 28 of Genesis recordings, a specific

command from Isaac not to take Jacob his wife out of the daughters of the
Cananites. In this Book, we also see a previous command by Abraham not to
take the bride for Isaac out of the Cananites (Gen 24:37).

On the other hand we see that Esau was not forbidden from marrying a
Cananite and it is stated in the Book that, ‘Esau seeing that the daughters of
Canaan pleased not Isaac, his father; Then went unto Ismael and took unto
the wives which he had Mahalath, the daughter of Ismail, Abraham’s son,
the sister of Nabajoth, to be his wife’ (Gen. Chapter 28:8-9).
-15-

Though the Bible attempts to show the command of Isaac banning Jacob
from marrying a Canaanite, in fact the idea behind such a ban should be
taken to read that Esau, the firstborn alone should marry a Canaanite to
avoid any corruption or confusion in the ascendancy of the final Messiah.

Isaac being a Prophet knew well that the final Messiah would rise among the
Canaanites only in conformity with the prayers of Abraham and Isamil to
God. It was the very same reason for Abraham banning Isaac also from
marrying a Canaanite (Gen.24: 3). Hence the purity of the descendancy is
clearly preserved. It was in this lineage the Quraish clans named after its
famous leader Kora emerged in which Muhammad the miraculous was born!

The following chart will help the reader in determining the ascendancy of
Muhammad through Ismael and Isaac to Abraham:

Muhammad Jesus

The number of god’s messengers from Jacob to Jesus in the Banu Israel (The
Israelites) are twelve and in the Ismailites is only one. Among the Israelites,
David, Moses and Jesus are the celebrated Prophets with their Psalms, Tora and
the Gospels respectively, being revelations from the Gracious God.
-16-

Among the Arabs none claimed Prophet-hood except Muhammad. Before

Muhammad, such a name was given to none in the whole history of the
Arabs. But after the advent of Muhammad, the very same proper noun in
the history of humanity is being taken by everyone as a proud and
prestigious name for a Muslim that itself identifies the bearer a Muslim! It
is the most popular first name history witnessed even today.

This ‘Periklutos’ Muhammad is the praised Messenger of God (John 16:7,8).

He is the seal of the Prophets, the Saviour of humanity, acknowledging and
honouring the Scriptures before him as foretold by Jesus (John 16:13,14) who
is second to none in the family of Prophets.
-17-
Muhammad and his Mission!

Muhammad Ibn Abdullah was born in the year 670 AD in the city of Mecca
in the present day Saudi Arabia. Since time immemorial, Mecca
is considered to be a holy city. It is in the very same desert of Canaan
referred to in the Scriptures.

Muhammad was brought up by Abdul Muthalib, his grand father and after
his death by his uncle Abu Talib. Muhammad led a highly disciplined life
that brought him the coveted title Al-Amin-the trustworthy-one who is away
from all lies!

Muhammad joined the company of a wealthy Quraish widow Khathija, as

her manager in trade. He later married her though she was ten years elder
than him. This, as Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, a well-known English
convert writes, elevated the status of Muhammad among the Arabs.
Both before and even after his marriage Muhammad used to retire to
seclusion to engage in divine meditation. Even from his childhood for
reasons known or unknown, Muhammad hated idolatry and viewed it
meaningless to imagine and ascribe partners to the Almighty.

He hated the then prevailing practice of Arabs to worship a number of gods

beside God. He strongly believed that the Supreme Creator and Sustainer of the
worlds should be one only and could never be more than Unity!

One day, during the course of his meditation in seclusion, in the holy month
of Ramadhan, in the cave of Mount Hira, in the outskirts of Mecca,
Muhammad was awarded with the Revelations of the Holy Quran through
the Archangel Gabriel.* The very first message of Muhammad received
-18-

from the Glorious God contained only six verses of Surah Al-Qalam
(Chapter: The Pen), which directed Muhammad to read – a command to a
total illiterate – Ummi Nabi, to read which he knew not!
• The date of the first revelation is supposed to be the 17th of Ramadhan,
610 AD. However the Quran speaks of a ‘Night of Power’ (Lailathul
Qadr), which the Prophet said falls in one of the odd nights of the last ten
nights of Ramadhan. The whole revelation of the Quran was spread over
a period of twenty-three years.

As Gabriel directed Muhammad to read, he replied that he was illiterate and

could not read and did not know how to read and what to read. Again the
command went on repeating thus:
“Read in the name of thy Lord Who createth
Createth man from a clot.
Read: it is thy Lord the Most bountiful
Who teacheth by the pen,
Teacheth man that which he knew not.”
--- Al-Quran
The Prophetic experience of mysterium terrible et fascinans was a terrific
experience itself, as Jeremiah narrates:
“Yahweh, you have seduced me and I am seduced,
You have raped me and I am overcome…
I used to say, ‘ I will not think about him,
I will not speak his name anymore’
Then there seemed to be a fire burning in my heart,
Imprisoned in my bones.
The effort to restrain it wearied me,
I could not bear it.”
Jeremiah 20:7-9
-19-

The experience was as if God was pulling Jeremiah in two different

directions; On the one hand, he felt a profound attraction towards Yahweh
that had all the sweet surrender of seduction but at other times, he felt
ravaged by a force that carried him along against his will.

The state of revelation to Muhammad is well explained in the words of the

famous nun turned writer Karen Armstrong thus: “Muhammad used to enter
a transe state and sometime seemed to loose consciousness; he used to sweat
profousely, even on a cold day, and often felt an interior heaviness like grief
that impelled him to lower his head between his knees, a position adopted by
some Jewish mystics when they entered an alternative state of consciousness –
though Muhammad could not have known this.” (History of Gods by Karen
Armstrong).

This was the very beginning of the revelations to Muhammad, during which
time he developed signs of shivering and even fits. Immediately he rushed
back home and disclosed to his wife Khathija what had happened to him and
the declaration of the Archangel Gabriel that Muhammad was chosen to be
the beloved Messenger of God to receive His Message. It was Khathija who
believed that Muhammad was elevated to be the Prophet of God and what
was revealed to him was nothing but the Message!

Khathija immediately consulted her cousin Waraqa Bin Naufal who was a
monotheist and a hanif following the way of Abraham, who never associated
anything with God or worshipped any idol. Waraqa accepted the Scriptures and
mastered them, though he was blind at the time of the Prophethood to
Muhammad. Waraqa, like the other truthful Jews, was awaiting the arrival of
the final Messenger of God.
-20-

He knew very well that the promised Messenger should arise among the Arabs,
they being the brethren of the Israelites (Due 18:18). When Khathija narrated
the incident that overpowered Muhammad, Waraqa had no hesitation in
concluding and accepting Muhammad as the long awaited Final Messiah, the
seal of all the Prophets and what did he receive was nothing but the Message!
-21-
Growth of Islam!

Followed by a few more revelations, God commanded Muhammad to preach

the religion. The first among the Quraish to embrace Islam was Abu Bakr, a
very close companion of Prophet Muhammad. Abu Bakr believed so much that
Muhammad would never come forward with a false claim, for
Muhammad was Al-Amin, the truthful.

Islam began to spread despite great persecution from the Quraish and other
Arab clans. There were incidents, in which an earlier convert Yasirin’s legs
were tied to two camels and the camels were made to run in opposite
directions, just to tear Yasirin to pieces. Even after all these persecutions,
Islam continued to attract the mass and began to spread slowly but steadily.
In the beginning, Muslims offered their prayers in hiding and when
commanded later, they began offering prayers in public.

This attracted more enmity from the stronger Quraish. They attempted
everything to put Muslims to cipher. At the same time, the Arabs were afraid of
killing Muhammad, as such an act would trigger tribal fights of revenge from
the mighty Quraish, to which Muhammad belonged. But at times there were
unsuccessful stray incidents and attempts to eradicate Islam by putting an end
to Muhammad. By now Islam witnessed an accelerated growth, gaining
momentum.

Events in which the stronger Quraish like Omar, who later became the
second Caliph of the Islamic Empire, rushing to the house of Muhammad,
with a drawn sword in his hands and with a sworn declaration to behead
Muhammad, upon hearing a few verses of the Quranic revelation being
recited in the house of his sister, that too very secretly with a minimal sound
both by her and her husband, throwing out the sword to the grounds and
embracing Islam the very next moment, were also seen in the annals of
history.

-22-

Omar, an authority on Arab poetry then, and as a poet laureate, he had no

hesitation whatsoever, to believe that the Quran is but a Revelation and no
human hands much less the hands of Muhammad, a total known illiterate
ummi, could have ever played any role in its creation. Such is the magnetic
and truthful force of attraction Islam showed then and now!

The persecutions of the Muslims continued. Muhammad and his

companions were put under seize, in the outskirts of Mecca, without proper
food and shelter, but with epidemics. Still the spirit of Islam and the faith of
the new converts remained intact and diminished not.

It was in the fifth year before the Hijrath, Muhammad chose to send a
mission to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) seeking asylum for Muslims. It was a
Christian kingdom then, worshipping one God and not trinity. Learning the
decision of Muhammad, the idolaters despatched a powerful team of the
Quraish under the leadership of Abu Sufyan, who later became a Muslim,
to Negus the Abyssinian King to restrain him from helping the Muslims.

In the Royal Court, Negus asked the Muslims to tell him what was stated in
the Quran about Jesus. Muslims, to the great astonishment of the King,
recited those verses bearing testimony to the virginity of Mary, the purity
and greatness of her status and the miraculous birth of Jesus. The cousin of
the Prophet, Jafer Ibn Abi Talib answered the Ruler’s questions. Ibn Ishaq,
an Arab historian quotes the explanation of Jafer, which I am reproducing
from the translation of Mohamed Marmaduke Pickthall here:

“We were folk immensed in ignorance, worshipping idols, eating carrion,

given to lewdness, serving the ties of kinship, bad neighbours the strong
among us preying the week; thus were we, till Allah sent us a Messenger of
our own, whose lineage, honesty, trustworthiness and charity we knew, and
he called us to Allah that we should acknowledge His Unity and worship

-23-

Him and eschew all the stones and idols that we and our fathers used to
worship beside Him; and ordered us to be truthful and restore the pledge and
observe the ties of kinship, and be good to neighbours, and to abstain from
things forbidden, and from blood and forbade us lewdness and false speech
and not to prey upon the wealth of the orphans and not to accuse good
women; and commanded us to worship Allah only, ascribing nothing unto
Him as partner, and enjoined upon us prayer and legal alms and fasting.”

Jafer enumerated the King the other teachings of Islam in detail and
continued “So we trusted him and we believed in him and followed that
which he had brought from Allah, and we worshipped Allah only, and
ascribed nothing as partner unto Him. And we refrained from that which was
forbidden to us and indulged in that which was lawful for us. And our people
became hostile to us and tormented us, and sought to turn us from our religion
that they might bring us back to the worship of idols from the
worship of Allah, Most High and that we might indulge in those iniquities
which before we had deemed lawful.

“And when they persecuted and oppressed us, and hemmed us in, and kept
us from the practice of our religion, we came forth to thy land, and chose
thee above all others, and sought thy protection, and hope that we should not
be troubled in thy land, O’ King!

“Then the Negus asked him: hast with thee aught that which he brought from
Allah? Ja’fer answered: ‘Yes’. Then the Negus said: ‘Relate it to me’ and Ja’fer
recited to him the beginning of Kaf, Ha, Ya, Ain, Saad (the beginning verses of
chapter Mary) from the Quran.
-24-

Sura Maryam (Chapter Mary) contains lengthy details from the

announcement of the Archangel Gabriel to Zackariya about John’s birth and
elaborates the messianic mission of Jesus to Israel. It narrates the story of
Mary and Jesus in verses 16 through 35, starting with the arrival of the
Archangel to Mary and completes with the ascension of Jesus to the
heavens, a message that coincides with the narrations in Luke 1:26-35!
“And make Mary mention of Mary in the Scriptures when she had
withdrawn from her people to chamber looking east;

“And had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our spirit
and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfected man;

“She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Benificient One from thee, if thou art
God-fearing;

“He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a
faultless son;

“She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither
have I been unchaste?

“He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And it will be
that We may make him a revelation for mankind and mercy from Us, and
it is a thing ordained”.

Then the Negus was fully satisfied with the truthfulness of the declarations
of the Quran and granted the Muslims asylum and full protection in his
country despite the objections and persuasions of the Arab delegates.
-25-

Yet the persecutions of the Muslims by the Arabs in Mecca continued,

though the seizure and sanctions against the Muslims were lifted. The leader
of the Arab persecutors, Abu Jahl (father of darkness) whom the Quran
describes Abu Lahab (father of hellfire), was none but the full brother of the
Prophet’s father Abdallah!

The preaching of Muhammad and his followers also widened. More and
more embraced Islam. Later during the pilgrimage that year, a group of the
residents of Yathrib (now known as Medina), then a predominant Jewish
settlement, met Muhammad and extended an invitation to him to settle in
Medina, which Muhammad accepted migrated to Medina. This happened on
the 16th July, 622 A.D and this marks the beginning of the Muslim calendar
Hijra.

The Arabs decided to kill Muhammad before his departure to Yathrib

(Medina), that too during the night while he was asleep in his house. Each
and every clan of the Arabs joined hands, so that the Quraish may not
revenge and fight against a particular clan or sect.

However Muhammad managed to escape by putting his cousin Ali to lie on

his bed. After knowing the escape of Muhammad, the Arabs tried to trace
him but in vein.

The then Yathrib, a predominant Jewish city, gave a warm welcome to

Muhammad who established the Islamic empire in that city which then came
to be known as Medinathunnabi (City of the Prophet). During his life in
Medina Muhammad fought a few wars including the wars of Badr, Uhad
and Khaibar. In the tenth year of the Hijra (632 A.D) Muhammad
performed his farewell pilgrimage with ten thousand followers (a foretelling
becoming true), and Mecca was brought under his full control.
-26-

Idols occupying the Grand Mosque were cleared and destroyed and the Kaba
was cleared from all impurities of idol worship.

Meccans felt unsafe in the hands of the Muslims, but to their astonishment,
Muhammad declared a general amnesty to all, the first of its kind history has
ever recorded. Even in modern days we witness the coalition forces of the
West in Iraq, still wandering to capture and declaring a list of most wanted
whom they don’t want to give amnesty but to kill and quench their thirst!

During the Meccan invasion nobody was allowed to suffer or face ill
treatment in the hands of the invading Muslims. This made the Meccans to
realise the nature and reality of the brotherhood Islam taught, as the Quran
says everybody came from a single gene (Sura An-Nisa, verse 1) and not
much later the whole of Arabia entered the Islamic fold.

In the pilgrimage sermon that year Muhammad declared to the Muslims the
message of God that Islam has been completed and perfected that day. All
the Muslims assembled in the great ground of Arafat to remember the
sacrifice and submission of their great forerunner Abraham to the will of
God in offering his son as sacrifice (later a goat in actual sacrifice), which
forms part of the Haj rituals even this day, were filled with joy except, Abu
Bakr, who knew that the revelation indirectly pointed the departure of
Muhammad.

The next year, that is in the 11th year of the Hijra (633A.D)
Muhammad passed away. His best companion Abu Bakr was elected as the
first Caliph of Islam followed by Omar, Uthman and Ali, all known as the
rightly guided Caliphs.
-27-

A certain section of the Muslims who were the supporters of Ali, the fourth
Caliph, maintained that Ali alone should come to succeed the Prophet and
did not recognise the election of Abu Bakr. The deviational thinking
widened further and ended in a major division among the Muslims, which
later paved the way for the war of Karbala (in Iraq), in which Muhammad’s
grandsons Hasan and Hussain (sons of Ali) attained martyrdom.

The deviationists were of the view that only the descendants of the Prophet
alone should come to rule or to lead the religion, which is totally against the
tenets of Islam. Gradually they snowballed into a separate group known as the
Shias (Shiites), now predominant in Iran and Iraq, away from the doctrines
of the majority Sunnis, but accepting the Oneness of God and the final
Apostleship of Muhammad and associating none with the One!

Towards understanding Christianity

What is Christianity?

Christianity is just a development over Judaism, further incorporating God’s

added commandments given to Jesus Christ. Can Christianity be accepted to
be a separate religion is a question for consideration. Present day
Christianity is highly different from the era of Jesus and what Jesus thought
and preached. In fact there is nothing to show that Jesus established a
separate religion or a distinct path, be it Christianity or Jesuism, if named
after Jesus!

The life and history of Jesus, except for a few deviations are well known.
His miraculous birth and the miracles he did, by the leave of God can not
denied. Yet Muslims, though they believe and expect the second mission of
Jesus to the planet earth do not have any faith in the crucifixion. For them it
is only a crucifiction!

Jesus never claimed he was a law giver or the founder of a new religion.
What he, in his own words, mentioned was that he was there to follow the
very same law of Moses (Mathew 5:17-18). If it is so, where from
Christianity is born and for what?

God almighty has sent His messengers to almost all nations and tribes. Jesus
was simply one of such messengers sent to ‘the lost sheep of Israel’ and to
none other than the Israelites he proclaimed his message, the very same
message of Moses as modified and codified by God to suit the then people
of Israel (Mathew 15:24). It is more apt to call Jesus a Jew rather than a
Christian or the founder president of Christianity.
-29-

If not corrupted, be it Judaism or Christianity, it is total submission to the

will of God, and that is what Islam means! It further means that Jesus was
none but a Muslim!

Like other religions, if we admit Christianity to be a religion, it has its own

groups such as the Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants, Unitarians, Jehovah’s
Wittnesses, Pentacoste and the like or a further few.

Unitarians believe that God almighty is One and not more than Unity, never
incarnated in human form and flesh, Bible is the word of God mixed with
earthly intrusions, Jesus is merely a man and Messenger of God and the
salvation of man does not lie with Jesus but depends upon his own works
and what his own hands earned and hence he has to carry his own cross.

They deny the Trinity principle, which was a later intrusion into Christianity
and they can not imagine Godhead away from Unity!

Christian Science group, another faction of Christianity also deny godhead

to Jesus and admit that Jesus was a very simple human being of an
outstanding character, crowned with God’s Apostleship. They say though
Jesus was pinned to the cross, he did not die on the cross. The crown and the
crowd was fooled to believe that he was dead, but he was buried alive in the
tomb.

Jehovah’s witnesses, a Christian sect also deny the Trinity principle and
maintain there is only one God . As Muslims do they also deny Christ’s
deity but say that the birth of Christ is a miraculous act of God, but not God
himself incarnating. The resurrection of Christ on the cross is totally denied.
They believe like Muslims, that Jesus was raised up without death touching
him.
-30-

Contrary to all these thoughts, the Catholics are the strong advocates and
even the creators and sustainers of the Trinity theory and the principle of
God’s incarnation on the earth. They are well pleased in elevating the status
of Jesus to Godhead or His equal, whereas ‘the Lord God is One!’
(Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 10:18, 12:32 and Mathew 19:17).

They even reduce God to a ‘word’ in the beginning which later became itself
god, which later incarnated in the form of Jesus, son of god-the word! (John
1:14). A ridiculous imagination!

How the teachings of Jesus got corrupted!

Christianity as we receive today is certainly not a distinct religion away from

Judaism or the way taught by Jesus son of virgin Mary. It is an accumulated
corruption on the teachings of Jesus, by Saul later known as Paul of
Alexandria. This Paul was once a staunch opponent of Jesus during
messianic mission. Yet for his personal benefits he later embraced
Christianity and preferred and professed to corrupt the faith of Jesus, just to
satisfy the needs of the Greek and the Roman inhabitants and created a
suitable godhead that may properly fit into the Greek-Roman frame.

In short God’s messiah was made a scapegoat to satisfy the lust and desire of
Paul, the corrupter.
-31-

As a result of his deceptive compromise to convince the Roman and Greek

mass:

1. The Hebrew Esa was transformed to be the Greek Jesus, named after
their sun-god ‘Zeus’!

2. Mary was made to be identical to the virgin goddess of Rome - Diana!

3. Sunday, the day of Roman resting was made to be the ‘Sabbath’ day of
Christendom!

4. 25th of December, the birth day of their sun-god Zeus was declared to be
the birth day of Jesus!

5. The ‘cross of the light’-the symbol of their sun-god was made to be the
torch-bearer of the newly formed religion named after Esa!

Catholics do not stop with this. They even go to worship mother Mary, as
Fritz Redenour puts it, ‘Belief in the power of Mary is so great in some parts
of the world that some superstitious Catholics worship her in the place of
Christ! It means that some Catholics, in the words of a Christian author,
have installed Mary in the place of Jesus, because she was the first in the
World to see Jesus the incarnated god (!) in human flesh!

Yet, the orthodox Christians held Christ to be identical in being

(homousinous) to God, the Father, while Arius (253-336 A.D) considered
him only similar in being (homoiousios) to Him-it was just that resemblance
of the Father but not of the same substance as the Father. I would like to
draw the attention of the readers to the Biblical and Quranic revelations,
which describe the creation of in the likeness of God. It means that Adam’s
shape and structure was the likeness of God but not Adam himself!

-32-

Nestorius (Died 450 A.D) declared that Jesus was two distinct persons, one
human and the other divine. And that Mary was the mother of human Jesus
and not the divine one. The orthodox view is that Mary is the true mother,
not of the godhead but of the incarnate logos containing both the human and
divine natures of Jesus Christ. (C.J.Hefle, ‘History of Christian Councils’ –
Edinburg 1894).

Catholics are idolaters pure and simple whereas Protestants, a different

group following the ideas of Martin Luther and his associates are non-idol
worshippers, who strongly believe in the divine revelations of Bible, which
they take authoritative. On the other hand Catholics treat the decrees of the
Church on an equal footing with the Scriptures, that is to say man-made
intrusion to be equal or even supersede the revelations of God!

Idolatry and the Scriptures!

Idolatry is strongly and totally opposed to the basic Christian theology. Yet
the Catholics are second to none in carving images and worshipping them.
Even in Hinduism idol worship is seen as the beginning to idol-less (Aruva)
worship and this Aruva worship is considered to be the highest and most
advanced form of worships.

Bible is very clear in condemning idolatry. It describes in more than one

place that idols are man-made and, capable of doing nothing. As said in the
Psalms:

‘Their idols are silver and gold

The work of men’s hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
-33-

They have ears, but they do not hear;

Nose they have, but they do not smell;
They have hands but they do not handle;
Feet they have, but they do not walk;
Nor do they mutter through their throat.
Those who make them are like them:
So is everyone who trusts in them’.
Psalms 115:4-8

And to such an image created by his own hands, a Catholic “falls down
before it and worships it and prays to it and says ‘deliver me for you are my
god’. They do not know nor understand, for He has shut their eyes, so they
can not see and their hearts, so they can not understand.”
Isaiah 44:17-18.

God is certainly unwilling to share His might and praise with anybody, much
less an idol. The Lord God says, “I am the Lord, that is My Name and My
Glory I will not give to another nor My Praise to graven images” Isaiah 42:8

In the same book Chapter 37, verse 19, God declares that images are not
gods and He goes on to command to do away with them, says, “You will
throw them away as an unclean thing; You will say to them ‘Get lost’”
Isaiah 30:22.

After all these direct commandments, in crystal clear terms that nothing
man-made will be God or His equal, Catholic Christendom is still falling
down before the graven images-that too their own hands made. This is the
way present-day Christians are following the way Jesus Christ a non-idolater.
-34-
A word about Jesus:

Jesus son of Mary was of a miraculous conception. The virginity and

dignity of Mary was preserved. Mary was selected to be above all the
womenfolk. It was said by the angels to Mary was preserved, “O’ Mary!
God hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath made thee above all the
women of creation” (Al-Quran 3:42) and her conception of Jesus was
announced to her. (Quran 3:45). Luke records a similar version, which runs
thus: “To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house
of David; And the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her
and said Hail, thou art the highly favoured, the Lord is with thee; blessed art
thou among women’ (Luke 1:27-28).

Jesus was a born Jew and a true follower of the faith and divinely guided in
all his affairs. Jesus possessed miraculous powers to heal the sick and even
to raise the dead alive. Jesus was born in the lineage of Abraham and Isaac
through the descendancy of Abraham’s grandson Jacob. Yet Jesus is neither
god nor God’s incarnation on the earth.

Jesus was powerful Prophet chosen by God, born by way of a miracle, with
no male touching his mother, the virgin Mary. It was not a great thing and
not something, which God can not achieve. It is the same God who made
Adam out of nothing, not even a female to deliver him; it is the very same
God who made Eve out of Adam with no woman to beget her as well.

In the case of Jesus, this no-father no-mother formula was followed. There
was Mary to beget him. Hence, in terms of the Quran, one can accept the
birth of Jesus to be a lesser miracle than that of Adam and Eve. From the
Islamic point of view, (as the Christians believe) Jesus will visit the world
again to carry out the balance of his mission, which he left in the middle as
he was elevated by God to the heavens well in advance of the crucifixion
drama. The second visit of Jesus, Muslims strongly believe will not be
limited to the ‘lost sheep of Israel’ but will be universal.
-35-

Is Jesus God?

As I have mentioned earlier, what Jesus worshipped and preached was the
Oneness of God and the Apostleship of Jesus to Israel. The earlier followers
of Jesus and those who established Christianity, were Unitarians. Jesus
could not be the founder of Christianity for in his own words he proclaimed
he did not bring in a new law but to follow and strengthen the Law of
Moses. At no point of time did he preach a different and distinct religion.
Even today, a considerable number of Christians are Unitarians save the
Roman Catholic idolaters and a few smaller groups.

If the words of Jesus were true and if he came to strengthen the Law of
Moses, there is no room in the Law of Moses, for a bone and flesh to claim
godhead. Moses’ Law clearly proclaims that the Lord God is One and
stresses that none should be treated on par with God.
“Listen (shema), Israel! Yahweh is our Elohim, Yahweh alone (ahad)!”
(Deut 6:4-6)

And the declaration did not stop with this.

“No god was formed before Me,
Nor will after Me.
I, I am Yahweh,
There is no other Saviour but Me.”
Isaiah 45:21

The Scriptures clearly established that the God Elohim (Arabic: Ilahi or
Allah) is one and not more than one. There was and will be no god either
before or after Elohim. This means that God is God, never begotten and
begot nothing. He is the Alfa and Coma (beginning and the end). There is
nothing bigger than Him or at-least equal to Him so as to allow an acceptable
claim to god-ship.
-36-

In Islam Allah is the ultimate with no equals. He neither begets nor begotten.

He is absolutely the One worthy of worship. He is One only (ahad). The

following what is called the essence of the holy Quran clearly describes the
Nature and Might of God thus:

“Say: He is the One God!

God, the eternally besought of all!
He begetteth not nor was begotten.
And there is none comparable unto Him!
Sura: Unity.

This establishes beyond all doubt that the Lord God our Creator is One only;
the only One to whom worship is due. All other things are his creatures and
in no way comparable to Him.

God is Supreme and above all things. He is not created but He created
everything. He created Adam from adamah (earth/soil).
“Yahweh God fashioned man (Adam) from the soil (adamah). Then He
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and thus man became a living
being.” (Isaiah 6:10.) And the holy Quran records a similar truth in 15:26,
where our Lord God says: “We created man from sounding clay; From mud
moulded into shape;”

I wish to take the reader to traverse through the Quran to get a clearer picture of
how God created man. He says that He created Adam out of sound clay.

Reader should compare this with the latest finding of the scientists that the
clay has the potential to save eggs and thus can keep life with it.
He says in another place that He created man out of a single gene (Quran
4:1). Present day Scientists are proud to announce that man, be he tall or
short, black or white all came out of a single gene.

-37-
This Human genome finding has been said to be greater than that of the man
landing on the moon and the greatest achievement of man in the twenty-first
century. The man who said so is no other than the then President of the United
States. But verse 1 of Sura 4 (Sura An-nisa) of the holy Quran has revealed this
fact fourteen centuries back!

Once it is agreed that the very first human being, say Adam, was created out
of the soil, all his offspring must also have been created out of the same soil.
Jesus will be no exception to the rule of law, since he came out of the
wombs of mother Mary.

None will disagree that Mary was humane – a pure creation of dust
descending from Adam, the firstborn out of dust. Therefore Jesus is also a
creation of dust, through Mary – through Adam, by the miracle of God of
course with no male touching Mary either before or after her conception of
Jesus. (Chapter Mary, Verses 16-35 and Luke 1:26-35).

Absolutely with no father and mother to conceive and carry Adam, God
created him out of dust. There is nothing impossible for God to create Jesus
by the command of a ‘Word’ – ‘Kun’ – ‘Be’ and Mary conceived Jesus.
When the glad tidings of the forthcoming birth of Jesus is announced to
Mary by Archangel Gabriel, she was astonished and said:

“O my Lord!
How shall I have a son
When no man has touched me?” (Quran 3:47)
-38-

And for this Gabriel replied:

“Even so;
Allah createth
What He willeth:
When He hath decreed
A matter, He but saith
To it, ‘Be’ and it is…” (Quran 4:47).

The same thing happened with the creation of Adam, the world and
everything in existence. The Old Testament is very clear in describing how
the world was created:

“By the Word of the Lord the Heavens were made,

And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth…”
Psalms 23:6

Is it possible to accept a human being like Jesus to be above or equal to

God? A God-created Jesus can not be god or become god or part of god.
Any prudent mind will have no hesitation to agree with this notion.

A Christian can not imagine Adam to be god. Adam is also a creation of

God, out of nothing but a heap of sand. Jesus is also a creation of God but
unlike Adam he is created out of something – a living human being, that is
Mother Mary. Hence the birth of Adam is more miraculous than that of
Jesus. As I have pointed out before, the Quran is clearer in comparing the
creation of Jesus to that of Adam.
-39-
Yet none other than the Eastern worshipper accept Adam to be god.* The
same truth of God creating Adam shall also apply to Jesus and it is
absolutely wrong to take Jesus to be god.

*The Hindu trinity comprises of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva... With their
respective powers of creation, protection and destruction, yet “Yekam sat
vipra bahuda vadanti” – to mean ‘Truth is One; sages call it by various
names’, which as Swami Adivedanda of the Order of Ramakrishna
Paramahamsa states, disproves that Hinduism is polytheistic.
Siva and Parvathi of India could very well be Adam and Eve. As Eve is
created out of Adam (Quran 4:1 and Gen.2:22), the Hindu theology believes
that Parvathi is half of Siva. Siva is also called Nilakanta, meaning the one
who is having a poisonous throat, referring to Adam ’s apple. Hindu
mythology maintains that because Siva ate the poison called ‘Alakaalam’ he
got that pet name. Here I am of the view that the Sanskrit Alakalam shall
have to be compared to the Arabic term Al-Kalam, meaning pen, a symbol
of perfected knowledge.

Adam violated God’s command and ate the fruit of the prohibited tree of
knowledge. While eating so, he, upon remembering that prohibition and
being afraid of God, caught hold of his own throat, thus it formed a small
forward structure in his throat, which is peculiar to the male generation.

The eating of the fruit naturally implanted in Adam a desire to sex and he
approached his consort. Linga worship – worshipping a penetrated male
organ into the female vegina is popular in Siva temples. This penetration is
symbolic of Siva housing with his wife Parvathi, the basic cause of our own
creation, for, if Siva and Parvathi consummated not, the entire human race
could not have been come out.
-40-
It is stated both in the Bible and the Quran that Satan entered the paradise
through or in the form of a snake and seduced Eve to eat the prohibited fruit
which resulted in their fall from the heavens. After their fall, Adam and Eve
realised their fault and sought God’s Mercy. Adam overcame Satan. The
symbolic snake on the head and shoulders of Siva idol might be pointing out
this.

Adam’s Peak is a hilltop in northern Srilanka. A footprint seen there is

known from time immemorial to be the footprint of Adam, and thought to be
imprinted upon the hill during his fall to the planet earth. By the Hindus the
same print is called ‘Sivanadippatham’ (footprint of Siva), proving Adam and
Siva are the names of the same person.

God is above all comparison. He, as Islam believes and affirms neither
begets nor begotten. The incarnation theory or the theory of multiple gods
each one looking after different tasks as if they are running business firm or
company, is not acceptable not only to a Muslim but also a modern thinker.
It was believed until the advent of Islam, that in the beginning of the world,
people were practicing polytheism and idol worship and later as the
civilisation grew, they changed to monotheism.

It was not a correct view. Quran is very clear in stating the early people
were pure monotheists and did not worship any idol at all. Later the society
was corrupted and as a result, polytheism and idol worship came into
existence. Prof Dr.Longton of the Oxford University went further and added
that they had believed firmly in the life after death.

Islam does not admit that Jesus was crucified. Islamic view is that he was
elevated to the heavens alive. If we presume that the person crucified was
Jesus, when he was so taken to the cross, Bible admits that he cried aloud
and shouted ‘Eli, Eli, Lemma Sabachtani’ (My God, My God, why you have
deserted me) Luke 23:46, Mark 15:34, Mathew 27:46 and John. All the four
gospels agree on this point.

-41-

What does the shouting means? By addressing his God, Jesus clearly and in
direct terms admit that:

1. He was not god;

2. There is the Only Supreme God to whom one can beg for help;

3. That Supreme Helper is a total and separate entity;

4. That Jesus is inferior to God and

5. God alone save him and us from all evil.

The Gospel according to Mark, which was the earliest in point of time and
regarded to be more authentic, describes Jesus as a normal human being. It
leaves the childhood of Jesus untouched and starts only with the history of
him coming to John the Baptist, to be baptised in River Jordan, in
accordance with the then prevailing practice of Baptism, a practice which all
normal men went through in those days. No claim to godship was
mentioned therein. If Jesus was god, he need not be baptised.

Jesus himself never claimed to be god. As Karen Armstrong, a once-upon-a-

time-nun, puts it, it was only his followers, that too after his death, decided
that Jesus was divine. (‘A History of God’ by Karen Armstrong page 98).
She continues, ‘This did not happen immediately; as we shall see the
doctrine that Jesus had been God in human form was not finalised until the
fourth century. The Christian belief in the incarnation was a gradual and
complex process. Jesus himself certainly never claimed to be God”.
-42-

Even St.Paul who is regarded to be the founder of modern Christianity did

not entertain such a claim. He preached that God-like powers had been given to
Jesus. He placed forward the ‘son and Father’ theory, which maintained God
and Jesus as two distinctive personalities, not combining the one with the other
and not giving Jesus godship.

Peter, the disciple of Jesus also never claimed that Jesus was God. On the
other hand all the disciples held that ‘Jesus was a man, commanded to the
Israelites by God by the miracles and potents and signs that God worked
through him when he was among them’. Peter addressed the mass very
clearly, “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested
by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs which God did through him in
your midst, as you yourselves know.”
– Acts of the Apostles 2:22

Regarding the miracles of Jesus, giving life to the dead, of course, by the
leave and will of God almighty is itself a miracle, yet it can not confer the
title of God, or His son or His incarnation or any other similar title upon
Jesus Christ.

There was evidence in the Old Testament to show that such

miracles were done by Prophets before him. A man's own heirs just to
inherit his wealth killed an Israelite. The blame was put upon the
neighbouring villagers with a demand for ransom or death money. When the
innocent villagers pleaded not guilty to the charge, God directed Moses to
sacrifice a calf and to throw the meat of it upon the dead body. Moses did
what God commanded to do. The dead man arose, pointed out the killer and
gave up his ghost again. Can you not believe that this was a miracle no
lesser in weight than that done by Jesus?
-43-

Even when his brother Aaron threw his stick before Pharaoh, it became a
serpent. (Ex 7:10). Such episodes are much in Biblical stories.

Another interesting story contained in the Bible is that when a contagious

disease spread over Israel. Some Israelites, fearing the calamity, vanished
their town and ran away. At an intermediary place God commanded them to
die and upon death their bodies decayed.

After a few years, Prophet Hiskeel (Arabic: Dul Kifli) came that way and
knowing about the dead, prayed to God to give them life and they were
given life and arisen up.

None can deny that raising up a dead person at a time when the body was
totally decayed into a heap of sand with a few bones remaining is more
miraculous than rising up a dead man within minutes of his death.

I invite the attention of the readers to verse 21 of Chapter 13 of II Kings

where the story of a dead person who was about to be buried getting his life
back miraculously upon touching the decayed bones of Elisha, the Prophet
of God.

Here is how the miracle happened, in the very words of the Bible:

“And it came to pass, as were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a
band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha; and when
the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood
up on his feet” (II Kings 13:21)

Yet you can not call Moses or Hiskeel or Aaron or Elsiha as God or His
sons.

-44-

In John 5:30 Jesus himself admits that he, out of his own self did nothing. To
quote the Gospel (King James Version by the Gideon’s):
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is
just because I seek not my own will, but the will of the father which hath sent
me.’

This crystal clear admission shows and proves primarily that Jesus was
capable of doing nothing except by the will of the Almighty who had created
him and made him His viceroy to Israel and secondly that Almighty God is a
separate and distinct Creator, Sustainer and Director of all that He wills. And
Jesus is no exception to the rule!

In John Chapter 8, after the story of the adulterous woman, Jesus is shown to
declare that he is a light and his followers will be rightly guided. And the
Pharisees reject this as a self styled declaration, for it can not be true without
the attestation of two witnesses according to the Law of Moses.

Now to prove this, Jesus, apart from his own testimony tries to bring in
the testimony of God, his Creator, thus to make the number of witnesses to
two to make out his claim validated.

In his own words, “I am one that bear witness of myself, and Father that
sent me beareth witness of me” (John 8:18) is a further admission negating
the Christian claim that Jesus and God are one. Here the arithmetical
addition of 1+1=2 is clearly admitted.

According to Jesus, God is separate and Supreme and He had sent him to
Israel and therefore the sender and the sent are not one and the same and the
‘sent’ is not an incarnation of the ‘sender’!
-45-

If both are one, the minimal requirement of two for a valid testimony is not
complied with and the claim of Jesus that he is a light to his followers to be
dismissed in limine. Jesus may even be charged with Perjury for showing
himself and the Father as two distinct persons, whereas according to the
Bible writers both are same and 1+1 is equal to one!

If on the other hand, the testimony is taken to be valid, treating Jesus and
God as two different and distinct persons, his claim as a rightly guided light
to guide the folks of Israel will no doubt be acceded to.

Since Jesus is a truly guided Prophet (Mathew 21:11) and not a liar, there
will be no hesitation for His Honour the Reader, to accept the claim of Jesus
as a ‘light’ and to reject the claim of the Church, (which Jesus never
claimed) that Jesus is ‘God', as false and frivolous.

If we further travel into the Holy Books, the pages of Mathew stand to prove
that Jesus did everything by the will of God. The people saw how Jesus
cured a sick man of the Palsy, lying on a bed, ‘they marvelled and glorified
God which had given such power into men’ (Math 9:8). Here the word
‘men’ denotes Jesus and similar other prophets of God.

We also witness Mathew admitting that Jesus prayed to God. (Math 14:23).
We also see Jesus falling in ‘prostration before his Lord’, saying “O, My
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless not as I will,
but as thou wilt’. If Jesus is himself God or part of God where comes the
necessity for such prostration and prayers?
-46-

A specific narration is contained in Mathew 23:9 that none upon the earth
out of the wombs of a human carrier, should be called god, with no
exception to Jesus, go to show, maintain and prove that God is One, above
all things and beings and Supreme in all aspects to Whom everyone has to
beg for help (Quran -Sura Fathiha) as Jesus did in Mathew 26:39.

In fact Jesus never claimed himself to be god or part of godhead or an equal

to God. He says “… and the word which ye hear is not mine but the
Father’s which sent me’ (John 14:24). This was the case with all the
Prophets and messengers of God as is revealed in the Quran 53:3-4, that
What Muhammad speaks is not his words but those he hears through
Archangel Gabriel from God.

John 8:40 is a step forward in the admission of Jesus that he was none but
humane with all the natural requirements and habits of a human being such
as hunger (Math 4:2), thirst (Math 19:28), tiredness (John 4:6), regrets (Luke
19:34), weeping (John 11:5) and even sleep (Math 9:24).

Therefore in all probabilities, there will be no hesitation for a prudent thinker to

come to a conclusion that the claim of the Church to crown Jesus with god-ship
can not be sustained. In the result, the actual claim of Jesus to be an Apostle of
God to Israel (Mathew 15:24) is well maintained should be
upheld and decreed accordingly.
-47-
Is Jesus Son of God?

The Trinitarian Church describes Jesus son of Mary as the son of God.
What necessity is there for God to have a son? Even if there is any
necessity, why he chose Mary to bear his fruit and in what way He placed
his ‘son’ in the wombs of mother Mary?

God is accepted to be Supreme and above all imagination. He is the Lord

God of all. No human character of birth and death can be ascribed to Him.
There is no need for God to be begotten and borne by someone, that too by a
human being like Mary. If God wants to do anything, as I have mentioned
in the earlier chapter, just a very simple command would meet the ends.
God needs not a father or a son either to inherit or to be inherited.

The theory of giving birth to a son in human form and flesh may not sound
foolproof. God’s first human creation was Adam. Adam is also called the
son of God in the Bible (Luke 3:38). In that case Jesus shall only be a
grandson of God and not His son!

Absolutely there is no justification in calling Jesus His son. You may call
him the son of Mary but not the son of God, Who neither begets nor
begotten.

Roman Catholic Christendom or the Pauline Christianity in particular,

attempted to crown Jesus with their coveted (!) title of the ‘son’ of god, just
to boost up the image of Jesus, thereby to boost up their own images as
heads of the Church. The theory of killing Jesus for the salvation of
mankind may then only sound good. It is only for this purpose the Father
and the Son theory was introduced into Christianity.
-48-

In fact Jesus never put forth any such claim. If at all anything to that effect
is shown in the Bible, the hands of others, hidden behind those writings can
not be denied. The reader should remember that the Bible as available today
is neither the word of God nor the word of Jesus in its entirety. When the
reader goes through what he calls the red-letter Bible of the King James
Version, he can find out clearly the so called red-letters which were
purported to be spoken by Jesus himself, forming hardly around 3% of the
whole Holy Book! Then from where comes the authority or authentication
to call the Bible from its beginning to the end ‘the Word of God’?

Jesus clearly describes himself ‘son of man’ to mean the son of Adam. As a
selected Prophet of God, he knew very well that he was ‘sent’ by God,
meaning that he is not independent but a tool in the hands of the mighty God
and thereby dependant upon Him.

To quote Jesus’ very own words as spoken to in the Bible, “The spirit of
God is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the
poor. He has ‘sent’ me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to
the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are
opposed.” Luke 4:18. Here, Jesus not only described and decreed who he
was but went further to explain what was the nature and extent of his
mission.

We see at more than one place in the Bible, Jesus calling him as ‘son of
man’, as he was and not ‘son of God’, as he was not, which he knew very
well. (Luke 5:24, 9:22, 17:30, John 12:34, 13:31, Mathew 8:20, 9:6, 10:23,
and Mark 2:28, 8:38, 9:31).
-49-

Even when Jesus was apprehended under deceit from Judas Iscariot, who
pretended to kiss the hands of the Messiah, Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you
betraying the son of man with a kiss?” Luke 22:48. Here also Jesus did not
claim God’s son-ship. Jesus knew well that there was no need for God to
have a son.

However John in his Gospel attempts to put something in the mouth of

Jesus, to make a claim to son-ship of God. The description ‘son of God’ is
seen only in his Gospel (John 1:14). This departs from the other three
Gospels, which confirm their claim coming out of the mouth of Jesus just to
be a son of man – a real truth! Even in John the claim is indirect and it says
that God loves His sons, to mean His creations much.

At one place, Jesus, while curing a man calls him ‘son’. None can take it to
interpret that the man was born to Jesus. It only denotes and points out the
depth of the love and affection Jesus had and displayed towards his men.
The same interpretation shall also apply to calling Jesus ‘son’ in the Bible
wherever the term occurs.

It should not be construed to mean that Jesus was born to God or God
Himself incarnating Who is neither begotten nor begot anyone. Quran
clearly defines the nature and mission of Jesus and says:

“O’ People of the Scriptures! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter
aught concerning God, save the truth. The Messiah, son of Mary, was only
a Messenger of God and His Word, which He conveyed unto Mary, and a
Spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His Messengers and say not
‘Three’ – Cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only one God. For is it
removed far from His transcendent Majesty that he should have a son…”
4:171.

-50-

In the Scriptures, not only Jesus, but also even Abraham, Jacob alias Israel,
David and a host of others are called ‘sons of God’, thereby allowing an
array of ‘sons’ rather than ‘only son’ to God! (Deu 4:22 and Psalms 2:7).
Even the Reader and the Writer are no exceptions (Deu 14:1).

In Romans 8:14, it is said, “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are
the sons of God”. This puts Jesus in an equal footing with the reader as far as
the ‘son of God’ theory is concerned. A travel through the Gospel according to
Mathew 5:45-48, shows the common man being addressed as son of God.

A description of Jesus’ elevation in the crucifixion drama, contained in John

20:17 in the very own words of Jesus, to say:

“Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my

brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father; and
to my God and your God,” is a more clearer admission of truth by Jesus, the
Messiah to Israel, that:

i) he is not God;

ii) he is not the son of God;

iii) everyone whom he addressed and all the men are placed in the same
footing as the children of God;

iv) God is described to be his God and the God of all and

v) He is neither a part of God nor an incarnation of God.

-51-

What we derive from the Biblical description of the Father and son is the
degree and depth of the love and affection between the two. Except this, no
other Father-son relationship can be ascribed to. Such a description if
allowed and accepted would place all the womenfolk the daughters of God.

If at all the ‘son of God’ description suits one, it might be Adam, the first
creation of God in human flesh and form, as is said in Luke, “which was the
son of Eunos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which
was the son of God” (3:38). Yet we accept Adam to be a miraculous
creation of the Supreme Creator and not His son. The same rule applies to
Jesus as well.

The actual claim of Jesus was that he was sent to the ‘lost sheep of Israel’
And therefore he should be treated as a shepherd guarding the flocks of the
Israelite or guarding the children of Israel as their king. The trial of Jesus
for blasphemy was over and he was carrying his cross in the crucifixion
drama.

The mob placed a crown made of thorns on his head. Pilate’s

writing “Jesus King of the Jews’ was placed on the cross. (John 19:19, Mark
15:16, Luke 23:38 and Math 27:37) This is the only verse contained in all
the four Gospels alike and uncorrupted. Here if the claim of Jesus during his
tenure was God or God’s son etc, the writing of Pilate could also have been
different to that effect.
This is ample proof to decide that the real claim of Jesus was only that he was
guide to make the path straight for the Israelites.
Even to a more specific question put to him during his trial by the High Priest
Cia’phas, whether he was son of God, Jesus denied by saying, ‘you say like
that’ or something to that effect. (Math 26:63-64).

-52-

However in Luke (23:2) and in the eighteenth chapter of the Gospel according
to John, where we find an elaborate story of Jesus from his arrest to his delivery
to Pontiac Pilate, instead of the ‘son of God’ accusation, only a charge of ‘King
of the Jews’ is maintained.

This shows that the versions in John and Luke may be more authentic than that
of Mathew, as far as this claim is concerned.

Anyhow, the declaration of Jesus regarding the Prophethood is written down

in red letters in the so-called ‘Red Letter Bible’. The claim limits Jesus’
mission in his own undisputed and clearer words to that of a God’s
Messenger.

Therefore we need not hesitate to accept that Jesus is a true and

celebrated Messenger of God, but himself not that God or part of God or
even His incarnation rested in the wombs of mother Mary to be begotten as
His ‘son’.
-53-

What is the ‘Word? /The Mystery of the Word!

The ‘word’ Bible refers to is, according to the Biblical scholars was the
initial form and state of Jesus, the god, kept by His ‘Father’ the God! Yet no
one knows why God chose to keep Jesus in such a wordily form and
Christendom also failed to offer any convincing explanation to this theory.

A critical analysis of the Gospels in its earlier form will reveal more clearly
how the Scriptures have been corrupted or at least ‘modified’ in their
translated versions, to ‘upgrade’ the Word to the level of God Himself. The
original ‘theou’, meaning ‘with God’ was corrupted to be ‘theos’ to mean
‘God’. St.John was the chief advocate of the ‘word’ theory. The Gospel
according to John starts straightaway with the ‘Wordily’ invention. It says:

“In the beginning was the Word,

And the Word was with God,
And the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made;
Without him nothing was made that has been made.”
John 1:1-3.

Here John says the Word was with God. It means that the Word was a
separate thing, so another, say the God kept it in His safe custody.
Immediately John puts up another controversial claim that the Word was
itself God. It means God existed as a Word, the ‘Word’ being God, kept ‘it’
itself for a while, like the brew is kept for fermentation, then all of a sudden,
it had transformed into God Himself.
-54-

Then again, being not satisfied with such a transformation, ‘it’ decided to
incarnate and chose Mary to rest for a while. Why this hide and seek drama for
God? Nobody knows!

Verse two of John’s Gospel suddenly turns the Word into a human being and
give it a separate entity and claims ‘he’ was with God in the beginning. A
confusing mechanism, by which Christendom attempts to convert Jesus in to a
‘Word’, so as to place that ‘Word’ with God, (of course not on His right
hand as the Torah claims), to give elevation or a boost up to show that Jesus
was god, which in fact was not!

For a prudent man, the Word can not be construed either as God or a human
flesh. On the other hand it should be taken to denote or point out some
‘mystery’ – a formula or knowledge. As Quran states when God desires
something to be created, all he needs is a very simple command or word
“Be” and that would be sufficient to create what He desired, ‘for nothing is
impossible with God’ (Luke 1:36), as Mary was told when the miraculous
carriage of Jesus was foretold to her.

As of necessity I refer to the Quranic story of the announcement of ‘glad

tidings’ to Mary as contained in Chapter III, verses 42 to 51, which refer to
the ‘Word’ command to Mary by God.

The Revelation runs thus:

42 “And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and
made thee pure; and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation.

43 O Mary! Be obedient to thy Lord, prostrate thyself and bow with those
who bow (in worship).

-55-

44. This is the tiding of things hidden. We reveal it unto thee

(Muhammad). Thou was not present with them when they threw their pens
(to know) which of them should be the guardian of Mary, nor wasn’t thou
present with them when they quarrelled (thereupon).

45 (and remember) when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath given
the glad tidings of a word from Him (Quran: Kalimathum Min Allah),
whose name is the ‘messiah’, Jesus son of Mary, illustrious in this world
and in the Hereafter and one of those brought near (unto Allah).

46 He will speak unto the mankind from his cradle and in his manhood and
he is of the righteous.

47 She said: My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched
me? He said: So (it will be). Allah createth what He will. If He
decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only ‘Be’ and it is.

48 And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the
Gospels.

49 And he will make him a messenger unto the children of Israel, (saying)
Lo! I come unto you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out
of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breath into it and it is a bird, by Allah’s
leave. I heal him who has born blind and the leper and I raise the dead by
God’s leave. And I announce unto you what you eat and what yea store up
in your houses. Lo! Herein verily is a portent for you, if ye are to be
believers.
-56-

To imagine Jesus being reduced into a heap of a ‘Word’, instead elevating

him, would only degrade him. Jesus was no doubt a rightly guided Prophet
of God, with all the miraculous and wonderful powers of healing and even
giving life to the dead and images of birds. But he was neither the ‘Word’
nor God Himself incarnating, as for God there is no necessity to incarnate.

Alternatively the Word can be ascribed to be the knowledge of some

secrecy, might even be the knowledge of the final Messenger and his
Message. According to Barnabas, the disciple of Jesus who lived with him
during his lifetime and accompanied him in all his sojourn and who
propagated the true faith after the elevation of Jesus to the heavens, ‘Adam,
having sprung upon his feet, saw in the air, a writing shone like the sun,
which said “There is only one God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of
God.” Whereupon Adam opened his mouth and said: “I thank thee O' Lord
my God, that thou had deigned to create me; but tell me, I pray thee what
meaneth the message of these words: “Muhammad is the Messenger of
God.” Have there been other men before me?”

‘Then said God: “Be thou welcome, O' my servant Adam, I tell thee that
thou art the first man whom I have created. And he whom thou hast
[mentioned] is thy son, who shall come into the world many years hence,
and shall be my messenger for whom I have created all things; who shall
give light to the world when he shall come; whose soul was set in a celestial
splendour sixty thousand years before I made anything.” (Gospel of
Barnabas Chapter 39).

And upon Adam committing the sin, God commanded Michael to drive the
serpent and Satan away from paradise and then told the weeping Adam and
Eve to go out and to do penance. And Barnabas goes on, ‘God hid Himself
and the angel Michael drove them forth from paradise. Whereupon Adam,
turning him round, saw written above the gate, “There is only one God, and
Muhammad is the messenger of God.”

-57-

Islam admits that the Quran, which encompasses the entire three prior
Scriptures, the Torah, Psalms and the Gospels (Taurath, Zabur and Ingeel in
Arabic) was kept in a ‘Lauh’ (Tablet). And the final Message and Messiah’s
coming were also part of it. This Message regarding the authenticity of the
Final Messiah is known to a Muslim as ‘Kalima’ which literally means ‘the
Word’! This is a very simple declaration of the Unity of God and the final
Prophethood of Muhammad! The Word might denote this secrecy!

No doubt Jesus was also a final Messiah but for the Israelite Jews, whereas
Muhammad is for the whole Universe. There lies the difference and this is
the ‘first’ knowledge referred to in the Gospel of Baranabas. *

*A word about Barnabas: Barnabas was a Jew born in Cyprus. A true and
faithful disciple of Jesus, he commanded to the Jews what Jesus wanted him
to do. The name Barnabas was given to him by the other disciples in
confirmation of his devoted service to the cause of Jesus. The term means
“Son of Consolation” or “Son of Exhortation”. To the credit of Barnabas,
there are a lot of references in the Holy Books. In his Epistle to the
Colossians, Paul describes Barnabas thus:

“… Barnabas, touching whom ye received commandments; if he comes unto

you, receive him.” Colossians 4:10.
Yet the present day Christianity is not set to receive either Banabas or his
commandments, which are the truth and truthful of Jesus.

During the period of Emperor Constantine in 325 AD, when Christianity

was steered by the Pauline principles, and at a time where there existed more
than 270 versions of the Bible, it was decreed that those versions not
approved by the Church should be destroyed and were actually put to fire.
Barnabas’ Gospel was no exception to it. However a copy of it escaped
unhurt and is still kept in the Imperial Library (Hofbibliothek) at Vienna.

-58-
It’s an Italian Manuscript and the only available truthful version of the real
Gospel of Jesus. In 478 A.D, in the fourth year of Emperor Zeno, the
remains of Barnabas was discovered along with a copy of the Gospel of
Barnabas, written by his own hand. (Acia Sanctorum Boland Junii Tom II,
Antwerp Edition).

The Vulgate Edition seems to be based on this.

I intend to give an alternate explanation to the Word theory, though I am

highly specific that the Kalima I have referred to earlier shall be the real
meaning of the Word mentioned in the Gospel of John.

As I have mentioned earlier, the Greek form of ‘theou’, meaning God’s was
corrupted to be ‘theos’, to mean God. I prefer to reproduce here the
explanation of the once upon a time Father Benjamin Keldani.B.D; who
embraced and died as Abdul Ahad Dawood, a Muslim, below:
‘Concerning the Logos, ever since the second century, a very fierce
controversy about it arose among the ‘fathers’ of the Church, especially in
the East, and it continued until the Unitarians were crushed and their
literature destroyed. Today unfortunately any portion remains intact or an
unaltered fragment from the ‘Gospels’ and ‘commentaries’ as well as the
controversial writings belonging to the Unitarians, except what has been
quoted from him.

Among the ‘Fathers’ of the Eastern Christians, of the most distinguished is

St.Ephraim, the Syrian. He is the author of many works, chiefly a
commentary on the Bible, which is published both in Syriac and in Latin,
which later edition I had carefully read in Rome. He has also homilies,
dissertations, called ‘madrashi’ and ‘contra Haeretici’, etc. Then there is a
famous Syrian author Bar Disan (generally written Bar Disanes) who
flourished in the later end of the second and first of the third century AD.

-59-

From the writings of Bar Disan nothing in Syriac is extant except what
Ephraim, Jacob of Nesibin and other Nestorians and Jacobites have quoted
for refutation and except what most of the Greek fathers employed in their
own language.

Bar Disan maintained that Jesus Christ was the seat of the
temple of the Word of God, but both he and the Word were created.
St.Ephraim in combining the ‘heresy’ of Bar Divan, says:-

(Syriac) ‘Wai lakh O, dovya at Bar Disan

Dagreit l’Milta eithrov d’Allaha.
Baram kthaba la kthabh d’akh hakhan
Illa dMiltha eithov Allaha’.
(Arabic) Wailu ‘l-laka ya anta a-Safil Bar Disan
Li-anna faraita kana l-kalamo li-l-Lahi
La-kina ‘l-kitabo mi kataba kazi
Illal Kalmo Kana l-Lah.
(English) Woe unto thee O miserable Bar Disan
That thou didst read the “Word was God’s”!
But the Book (Gospel) did not write likewise,
Except that the “Word was God”.

Almost in all the controversies regarding the Logos, the Unitarians are
‘branded’ with the heresy of denying the eternality and divine personality of
it, having corrupted the Gospel of John, etc. These imputations were
returned that the Trinitarians were always reproached with having corrupted
the Scriptures.
No other Gospel except the one according to John quotes anything about the
‘Word’, which was said to be in existence in the beginning, saying it was
with God and it was also God, meaning God keeping the God!
-60-

The creation of Adam out of sound clay, with not even a female (like the
blessed Mary), to carry him, is more miraculous than that of the carriage of
the Messiah. That too God did by His command ‘Be’, the Word!

Even when God caused the automatic arrival of food and fruits to Mary, it
was with His command ‘Kun’ (Be). He has created all those in this earth
and all other things in existence, without any elemental cause but all by a
simple wordily command.

God had chosen Jerusalem a holy land and Israelites His chosen people.
Mary the daughter of Hanna menstruated during those days the spiritual
power penetrated the Holy Land, for she was dedicated for God’s service,
contrary to the then established practice of the male only doing the service.

As Hanna desired a male child, her imaginative faculty with the firm
purpose of dedicating the child to the service of God and the soundness of
her hope that a deep impression upon her embryo with the result that the
bodily constitution of Mary formed like that of a male.

When Hanna gave birth to a female against her wishes for a male child to be
dedicated to God, she expressed her grief to God and He accepted Mary for
His service.

God chose Zackaria, the Prophet then to be the guardian of Mary and
inspired the temple keepers to accept her for the temple service.

One day when Mary became pure of menstruation she went to privacy to
take bath, where by the command of God, Gabriel appeared before her in the
form of a well-built beautiful young man. Mary in a state of excitement and
fear sought the protection of God and His refuge.

-61-

Mary’s condition at that time was rather wonderful. As for her nature
(Tabiah), it acquired what is always acquired during the intercourse, namely
the excitation of the procreative powers, just as a mere look (at a fair and full
grown) at times becomes the cause of seminal effusion. As regards her mind
(Nafs), it sought and acquired protection of God and refuge in Him, till it
became filled with the state of protection, poured down from the Unseen.

As for the human form it was because of the association of the Gabriel, at
the top of making appearance’.

Gabriel announced who he was and the reason why he appeared to her in
such a disguise and during her privacy. She became pleased and cheerful and
was ready to receive the boy in her wombs, which caused an automatic self
seminal effusion.

As there was the partial potentiality of the semen of male in her, she became
pregnant to carry the Messiah in her wombs.

All these happened by a very simple and powerful command of God through
His Archangel Gabriel. This should be the real meaning of God saying that
He strengthened Jesus with the Holy Ghost, as Gabriel is the Holy Spirit!
And the command of God ‘Be’ which created Jesus in the Wombs of Mother
Mary might alternately be construed as the mysterious ‘Word’!

Therefore the issue ‘Is Jesus the Word’, at any cost, can not be decided in
favour of Christendom as it claims through the Gospel of John.
-62-

Unity or Trinity?

Ever since man began to understand God and worship, he worshipped a

single God. Later on when generations turned, he worshipped the Sun, the
Moon, the Stars, trees and even the earth. Animals were also did not escape
his purview. Some religions even created special gods for special occasions,
such as the gods of air, fire, rain and so on and so forth.

The number of gods grew, one for education, one for seduction, one for health
and one for wealth and there are still religions worshipping an innumerable
number of gods.

These gods are ascribed wives and children too!

The principle of uncorrupted Christianity is the worship of Unity, a single
God only. Most of the Christian sects believe in the Oneness of God. The
Trinity principle if approached properly will lead to only One God.
The Trinity policy gives its god a human flesh and form and before taking
such a manly form, the shape of a ‘Word’ (Holy Ghost) to be kept by God
himself for a while! A wonderful imagination that cheated millions of
Christian believers for centuries together. An imagination, which the
common sense of the most common man may hesitate to accept!

The Lord God of Adam, the Creator and Sustainer of all the offspring of
Adam was one. The God of Abraham, the monotheist was one. The Lord
Yahweh of Moses was one. The God Lord of Jesus was one. Yet, the gods
of Trinitarian Christians, the so-called truthful followers of Jesus, the
monotheist is three! That is 1+1+1 is equal to one! An arithmetical
nonsense!
-63-

The creation of Adam and Eve and their fall are unknown to none and their
regaining of the paradise by their continuous worship of the one and only
God is well known to everybody. Their God was Unity!

The forerunner of all the Israelites and Arabs was Abraham. His story of
destroying all the idols worshipped by his own people except the big statue
and placing an axe with which he destroyed them, in the hands of that big
statue is well known to every Muslim and Christian through the Quran and
Bible. For a question put forth by his father Azar as to who destroyed their
gods' statues, Abraham politely told him to ask ther big statue for an answer,
indicating thereby that idols won’t respond and that they were the created
and not the creators. Abraham worshipped one God and never associated
anything with Him and denied worshipping a carved image.

The God of Moses to whom the Torah was given and with whom God was
pleased with His magnanimous audience was also one. Moses never
allowed polytheism and never imagined God to be part of a three.
‘Listen, Israel! Yahweh is our Elohim (Arabic: Ilahi) Yahweh alone!
You shall love Yahweh with all your heart, with all your soul, with all
your strength.

Let these words I urge upon you today be written on your hearts!
Deu 6:4-6

The Lord God of Jesus was also one and there is none else beside Him (Deu
4:35). Jesus, when pinned to the cross, as the Christians believe, called and
cried to the Unity alone and not to a third of the trinity, that is a one third
god!
-64-

Jesus never encouraged his disciples either to worship him or the

trinity. The principle of trinity was totally unknown to Jesus!
The Pharisee and priests tried to charge him as if he was claiming himself to
be God in order to put him to death and thereby to keep their own positions
undisturbed.

When once they understood that their claim could not be well
maintained they jumped to a different charge, to say that Jesus claimed
Israel’s kingship which, according to the Law then was also punishable with
death. And this was how the claim to God-ship or His son-ship was first put
as a charge and the later lovers (?) of Jesus who wanted to see Jesus as God,
elevated him to that level by sticking to the claim of the Pharisees. Thereby
the so called ‘fathers’ who established the present day Christianity incurred
not the pleasure but the wrath of God, who was never willing to share His
Might with anyone, (even if we presume that He has a ‘son’ – Italics are
mine) (Isaiah 45:22).

The God of Muslims (In Arabic: Allah, which simply means God) is also
One. Islam never imagines God to be more than Unity. The qualities of
God, Islam, believes, as the Old Testament stresses, can not be shared with
anybody. God is God, simply One, the Supreme Creator and Sustainer and
none is equal to Him, is the faith and belief of a Muslim and a true believer
of the real Gospels.

This is what Yahweh the one and only God speaks in Isaiah:
“No god was formed before Me,
Nor will after Me,
I, I am Yahweh,
There is no other Saviour but Me”
Isaiah 45:21

-65-
The reader may compare what the God claims in the Holy Quran as to His
nature and Might:
“Say: He is God (Allah), The One;
God, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him”.
Al-Quran 112:1-4.

“The nature of God here is indicated to us in a few words, such as we can

easily understand. In Quran as well in the Scriptures the qualities of God are
described in numerous places. We are specially taught to avoid the pitfalls
into which men and nations have fallen at various times in trying to
understand God. The first we must understand is that His nature is so
sublime, so far beyond our limited conceptions, that the best way in which
we can realise Him is to feel that He is a Personality, “He” and not a mere
abstract conception of philosophy.

He is near us, He cares for us and we owe our existence to Him. He is the
one and only God to whom worship is due; all other things and beings that
we can think of are His creatures and in no way comparable to Him.
He is Eternal without beginning or end. Absolute, not limited by time, place
or circumstance, the Reality. We must not think of him as having a father or
a son, for that would be to import animal qualities into our conception of
Him. He is not like any other person or thing that we know or can imagine.
His qualities and nature are unique.”

The famous translator of the Holy Quran, Maulana Abdallah Yusuf Ali
continues, "the above chapter of the Quran clearly negatives the idea of
polytheism, a system in which people believe in gods many and lords many.
Such a system is opposed to our truest and profound conceptions of life. For
Unity in design, Unity in the fundamental facts of existence proclaim the
Unity of the Maker." (Maulana Yusuf Ali in his 'The Holy Quran '– English
Translation).

-66-

‘For the Eastern thinker gods are many and innumerable. For him
incarnation of God on the earth that too within his own country and among
themselves is an interesting phenomenon. He may imagine a cow, a pig and
a tortoise as incarnations of his god. But for a western thinker, this type of
an approach to godhead may not be acceptable and he may even think it to
be a hopeless hodgepodge’. ('So What is the Difference?' By Fritz
Ridenour).

Even among the Eastern thinkers there are people like Sri Ramakrishna, who
said, “Many faith are different paths leading to reality, God”. One can not
establish beyond doubt that Buddha worshipped more than Unity.

The Hindu Trinity comprises of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva, with their
respective powers of creation, protection and destruction. Yet as the Hindu
Vedas admit “Ekam Sat Vipra Bahuda Vadanti” (Rig Veda 1.164.46) to
mean “Truth is One; sages call it by various names”, which as Swami
Adidevananda of the Order of Ramakrishna Pramahamsa states disproves
the notion that Hinduism is polytheistic.

Islam ascribes different beautiful names to the One and the same God to
denote His different qualities, characters and potentialities. God is called:
Khaliq the Creator
Malik the Ruler and Protector
Razzaq the Sustainer
And so on and so forth. Yet He is One only and not more than Unity.

If God is more than Unity, there will always be hell and a chain of fights
between themselves as the Hindu mythology of the East reveals. If the gods
are imagined to be with wives and concubines there will remain only utter
chaos. To accept God as One and none but One is a pleasing formula of
truth and that is what Islam sees and stresses!
-67-
The Sebellians of the third century after the advent of Jesus, developed a
new theory by which they treated Jesus as a human being but attributed
certain power or energy from God pouring upon him, thereby making him
‘son’ of God. This, according to Gibbon was the real cause that spread an
epidemic of disorders in the Church, though it was an approach towards
Unitarianism. But this was turned to be the base on which Origen developed
his Trinity theory in the fourth century, thereby making a compromise
between the teachings and practice of Jesus, the Nazarene and the pagan
worship of personalities.
.
The imagination of plurality of gods and trinity of gods are unacceptable to a
modern thinker. As I have pointed out there are always justified and serious
thinkers in Christianity who advocated the Unity of Godhead. The revolt of
Arius, even against his own Bishop led to the assembly of the Council of Nice
in 325 A.D, by Emperor Constantine.

The Nicene Council met in Bithynia witnessed a lot of heated exchanges but
unfortunately ended in stamping out the right and commissioning the wrong
as the policy of the Church. Arian theory was declared to be unchristian.
Arius and his followers were put to oppression and persecution.

Even then the Unitarian principles of Arius began to spread in Egypt and
North Africa. It was Socinus of Sienna, in Italy who revived and gave life to
the principles of Arius in the 16th century A.D, totally denying the divinity of
Jesus and the doctrine of sin and atonement.

As Brandon writes “if Christ is divine in an absolute sense, yet distinct from
God, there were two gods and Christianity was a form of ditheism and not
monotheism. On the other hand if the filial relationship were literally
interpreted, then God the Father would be the progenitor of god, the son.
But the logic of this relationship meant that Christ would not be fully god,

-68-
since there must have been a time when he ‘was not’ and God the Father
alone existed.” (S.G.F.Brandon – 'A History of Ideas' - New York 1973 Ed).
Orthodox Christians held Christ to be identical in being (homousinous) to
God, the father, while Arius (253-336) considered him only similar in being
(homoiousios) to Him.

Nestorius declared that Jesus was two distinct persons, one human and the
other divine. And that Mary was the mother of the human and not the divine
Christ. It would be better to call her the mother of ordinary Christ rather
than divine mother. The orthodox view is that Mary is the true mother but
not of Godhead but of the divine logos, Word of God containing both the
divine and human natures of Christ. (C.J.Hefele 'History of the Christian
Councils' – Edinburg 1894).

Arius was a skilful propagandist, during the time of Athanasius a rival

thinker and priest, around 320 A.D. This Athanasius contributed much in
upholding the Trinity principle in Christianity. On the other hand Arius,
without denying the dignity of Jesus Christ and his divinely guided mission,
denied the Trinity.

The ecumenical council of the Church was convened at Bithynian Nicea on

the 20th May, 320 A.D and issued a creed mainly under pressures from
Athanasius, on the mystery of the ‘Trinity’. The Nicene theology ran thus:
“We believe in one God,
The Father Almighty,
Maker of all things, visible and invisible,
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
The son of God,
The only begotten of the Father,
That is of the substance (ousia) of the Father,
God from God,
Light from Light,
True God from True God,

-69-
Begotten not made
And we believe in the Holy Ghost!”
Thus what Jesus denied during his lifetime for a charge of the Pharisees,
became the policy of the Church!

Some scholars opine the belief in the Holy Ghost to be a later addition,
which was not in the code of Athanasius. The anxious were the
Capadocians who developed the notion of the Holy Spirit and formed it part
of Christian dogmas. Christianity as it stands today, never hesitated to
accept whatever be the theory, if it shows an exaggerated picture of Jesus!
Arius wrote to his Bishop Alexander, that ‘God was the only eternal, the
only One without beginning, the only Wise, the only Good and the only
Potentate’.

The unrepentant Arius was anathematised by the council and exiled by

Emperor Constantine. The Emperor also issued a decree that all Arius’
writings should be burned and their possession should be punished with
death.

Even after this Nicene decision and decree of the Emperor, the Arius crisis
did not come to a halt. There were times when Athanasius was also exiled
more than thrice. However later councillors and ‘guardians’ of the Church
managed to thrust the ‘trinity’ into the later day Christianity. The present
day Christians are so programmed that they accept the trinity blindfolded!

But for the advanced man and a careful thinker, the trinity may not sound to
be acceptable. It should be there decision that if there was the ‘Word’ in the
beginning, as the Gospel according to John cites, it should be and it must be
in all probability a creation of the Creator and not the Creator Himself.
-70-

Even if we admit that Jesus was the ‘Word’ out of which God created
everything (including Jesus), that ‘Word’ could have been created by the
Creator out of nothing and that ‘Word’ or Jesus could never become God.
As to the Trinitarians, Quran brands them as disbelievers and says, “They
surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah (God) is the Messiah, son of Mary.
The Messiah (himself) said O, Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord
and your Lord…’ and they surely disbelieve who say: Allah is the third of
the three; when there is no God save the One God”.
Quran 5:72-73

Prof Abdul Ahad Daud, the former Reverend David Benjamin Keldani.B.D;
a once upon a time Roman Catholic priest of the Uniate-Chaldean sect
analysed the Gospel of John and wrote how the Gospels were corrupted to
manipulate their meanings.

He writes, ‘The first verse with which St.John’s Gospel commences was
often refuted by the early Unitarian writers, who rendered its true meaning
as follows: “In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God
and the Word was God’s”. ('Muhammad in the Bible' – Prof. Abdul Ahad
Daud).

It will be noticed that as stated in the previous chapter, the Greek form of the
genitive case ‘Theou’, i.e. ‘God’s’ was corrupted to be ‘Theos’, that is ‘God’
in the nominative form of the name!’ So, the Word was not God but God’s,
denoting some knowledge or common command.

The advanced thinker goes for looking a more rationale God, who should be
acceptable for anybody and everybody, the God without a beginning and an
end, the God Omnipotent, the God Almighty, the One and only Eternal, with
no animal action of eating, drinking, resting etc. and one can only find such
characteristics in the God of Islam – Allah!

-71-

The Quran describes the One God to be:

‘Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber
nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the
Heavens and in the Earth… He is never weary of preserving them. He is
the Sublime, Tremendous.’
Quran 2:255

The present day science with all its advancement, particularly in the field of
archeology and anthropology, is able to establish what the Quran says about
God is correct as Charles Marston writes, ‘The evidence of anthropology
proves the religion of the early races is monotheism’.

So, the Eternal God is:

God, the One!
God, the Eternally besought of all!
He begetteth not nor was begotten!
And there is none comparable unto Him.
Al-Quran CXII:1-4
-72-
And Jesus? …… Nay!

In all the four Gospels according to Mark. Luke, Mathew and John, we see
John the Baptist baptising men in River Jordan. While doing so, Jesus came
to him and asking him to get baptised. All the Gospels, including the most
authenticated ‘Gospel according to Mark’, (there is no Gospel existing
which may be termed to be ‘according to Jesus’), acknowledge a “voice
from the ‘heaven’, saying: “You are my beloved son, in whom I am well
pleased” Mark 1:11

Yet, this direct revelation is not reported in red letters in the Red letter
Bible, because Jesus never acknowledged such a claim!
After all, Jesus claimed himself to be a Messenger of God, by saying, “No
messenger is honoured in his home town”. This red-lettered admission
clearly shows two things:

1. Jesus was a messenger of God and himself not God and

2. Jesus was sent to his hometown of Nazareth and its surroundings only,
Where he was not well received and honoured.

In the beginning of this book, I have clearly pointed out how the messianic
blessings offered by Isaac to his firstborn Esau was shown by the Bible writers
to be ‘stolen’ by a great Prophet and forerunner of the clans of Israel.
This corruption in the Scriptures was made to show that the final Messiah or
Messenger of God had to come in the descendancy of Isaac through Jacob.

If this is to be admitted, Jesus fits only to some extent but not fully and
perfectly into the messianic frame, but neither himself god nor the
incarnated God in the form of flesh and bones as the ‘son’ descending in the
Banu Israel clans of Jacob (Israelites or Jacobites).

-73-

On the other hand if the corruption of receiving the blessings of Isaac is

brought to light fully proved and the theory of the blessing reaching the
person blessed and not the one blocking its course (in this case the elderly
Esau) and not Jacob, who is shown to have obtained it by deceitful means,
which no Prophet of God can be imagined to do and which Jacob being a
Prophet had not done, the crown which Christendom is attempting to place
on the heads of Jesus, of course against his will and wish, falls to the ground.

Naturally we have to look for ‘another comforter’, whom the crown fits in.
From the viewpoint of the messianic blessings, which the Scriptures admit,
Jacob obtained the blessings by fraud and impersonation. We are sure that it
was Esau who was sitting in the heart of Isaac when he was offering the
blessings and not Jacob who just sat before him.

An article posted, in the ordinary course of postal transmission, will reach

the addressee and none else in between. Even if it is wrongly delivered it
will soon be redirected to the correct address. This is quite natural with the
ordinary human being, whose man-made laws consider fraud and
impersonation penal, deserving the hardest punishments.

To imagine God, the Supreme Lawgiver could have erred in His

administration of the Law is quite foolish and amusing. If the firstborn has
to inherit, it must be the firstborn, a right that can be sold to none.

If at all Isaac, out of his blindness, even after attempting all such
precautions, blessed Jacob, God is not blind enough to accept and redirect
the blessings of Isaac to a person other than the addressee, for God is above
all postmen and Wise! Here the case of the fraudulent possession of the
blessings fall to the ground and the case of Jesus becoming the Final
Messiah fails on the first count!

-74-
Secondly comes in the case of David calling the Final Messenger of God, as
‘My Lord’, occurring in the Prophetical revelations contained in the Psalms (
) “The Lord said to my Lord".
Jesus, no one will disagree is a descendant of David not his forerunner. The
proper term the Scriptures used to denote a descendant is ‘son’ and for the
forerunner it is ‘father’, as Abraham being the forerunner of Israelites and
Arabs is aptly addressed the ‘father’.
There lies some mystery in the case of David addressing Jesus as ‘My Lord’.
It points out in a different direction – a direction entirely away from the
Israelites, for no Israelite descending from David could have been addressed
as ‘MY LORD’ by a forerunner, say David.

Secondly the person so addressed shall be more stronger and bigger than
David himself either in administering a great nation as a ruler or in bringing
a more wider prophetical mission as a Prophet of God. From this viewpoint,
the reader can not accept that Jesus was mightier than David or his
Prophetical coverage was wider than that of David.

Jesus’ mission stopped midway and both the Muslim and the Christian
world expect would be continued and completed only during his second visit
to the globe. Again the case fails on a second count!

Now we go to analyse the Prophetic message contained in Deuteronomy

18:15-18, corroborated and confirmed by the ‘Acts of the Apostles 3:22,
which says that the forthcoming Messiah shall be ‘like’ Moses.
We now proceed to compare how far the qualities of Moses were found in
Jesus.

1. Moses was born of co-habitation by a living male with a female (the

father and mother of Moses), whereas this primary qualification is
missing in the case of Jesus as his birth is of a miraculous one, with no
male touching mother Mary! (Holy Quran and the Holy Bible).
-75-

2. Moses led a married life whereas remained to be single and unmarried!

3. Moses had the direct vision of God whereas Jesus did not!

4. Moses was a law-giver whereas Jesus did not bring any new law but to
confirm the law of Moses! (Mathew )

5. Moses died a natural death but Jesus was elevated in his crucifixion
drama! (Even if we admit for the sake of arguments that Jesus also died, it
was not a natural death but a pure homicide!

6. Moses fought against the Pharoah but Jesus did not fight against
anybody!

7. Moses propagated the covenant of Abraham with God, the covenant of

circumcision, whereas Christendom dropped it!

8. Moses was against idolatry whereas Christendom (the Roman Catholic)

promotes idolatry!

9. Above all Jesus did not come up from among the ‘brethren’ of the
Israelites but he himself an Israelite!

Therefore Jesus is most ‘unlikely’ of Jesus instead of ‘likely’ and this also
fails and falls to the ground!

Then comes the case of the ‘Mighty Warrior’! The final Messenger is
described to be entering the ‘city’ as a mighty warrior. Jesus always had
seen to be roaming in hiding and to have been taken to the cross by the mass.
-76-

He never shined like a king or warrior throughout his career as a Messenger

of God. Simply for want of proper evidence to show at least, much less to
prove, the claim goes out and the case again fails on a third count!

Now the case of the ‘Ten Thousand Followers’ is taken up for consideration.
Christendom can not deny the fact that during the lifetime of the Messiah,
there were hardly twelve disciples or followers of Jesus, since one among
the twelve, Judas Iscariot defected. Even the supper attended by Jesus
contained thirteen including the Messiah. Eleven or twelve can not be
10,000, as there we need three more distinct digits to make it up. Again, the
case miserably fails as this point prima facie not proved and is clearly
disproved!

Therefore no one can take it for granted that the Final Messiah be Jesus!
-76-

If Not Jesus ……Who?

Now Christendom is left with no other option except to look for another
person in whom the prophecies are completed. We enter for the search of
the real Final Messiah of God now!

The case of the ‘Firstborn’ is now taken up for consideration. The Law
approves that the blessing shall go to the person to whom it is destined.
Criminal impersonation and misappropriation can not be held to be rightful
in any court of law. The appropriation (if any), by Jacob in an unapproved
manner is totally discredited. Even an ordinary man can give no weight to
it.

The point for consideration emanates from Ismael. It was only after the
birth of Ismael, then the barren Sarai was promised a son and Abram
elevated to be Abraham and Sarai promoted to be Sarah! God accorded
these higher elevations only after the birth of Ismail and long before the
conception of Isaac and the birth of Isaac were also promised.
(Gen. 16:15, 17:5, 15-16).

Ismael, being the firstborn was to inherit twice as the law then was. Be it a
property, the firstborn should inherit twice and if it was a right to have the
final messiah in his descendancy, the firstborn had to have that right!

Analysing the history, we find both Isaac and Jacob admittedly the honest
and most honoured Prophets of God and the blessed too. The Biblical
narration of a Prophet of God stealing the blessings may not be true and
might only be a corruption.
-77-

The marriage of Esau, the firstborn of Isaac with the daughter of Ismael the
firstborn of Abraham, doubly confirms the arrival of the Final Messiah in the
descendancy of Ismael-Isaac taken together.

Care is also taken that in order to avoid a later confusion, a specific ban was
imposed upon Jacob in Genesis 28:1, not to take his bride from out of the
Caananites, the reason being that Esau, being the firstborn was destined to
marry the daughter of Ismael, a Canaanite and the Final Messenger was to
emerge out of that tribe alone, being the brethren of the Israelites. (Deu
).
Both the sons of Abraham are honoured in getting the Final Messiah in their
combined descendancy, leaving no blood of Abraham untouched and
thereby having a perfection in the creation and arrival of the Last Prophet,
the Seal of all the Prophets!

We travel further and analyse the entire Arab clans and all the descendants
of Esau and Kedar, the Chieftain of the Arabs and we find only one person
with a peculiar name Muhammad claiming to be such a Prophet of God.

We study the history of Muhammad and his childhood. An orphan illiterate

(Arabic: Ummi) being called the ‘Rightful and Trustworthy’
bringing down a Revelation so nice in rhyme and rhythm, (though it was
revealed bit by bit in a period spread over twenty-three years) is the real
miracle indeed!

The name ‘Muhammad’ (Gospel of Barnabas Chapter, ‘Periklutos’ John

16:14), the first pronoun in history is an added miraculous attraction. The
name, which means ‘praiseworthy’, was given to none before Muhammad
but the same name became a prestigious representation of a Muslim and
almost bore by billions of Muslims today.

-78-
Therefore there will be no hesitation in concluding that the blessings of Isaac
properly reached Esau, the first-born and through him ‘shined’ in Muhammad,
the one ‘shining from Paran’ (Deuteronomy 33:2)! (Paran is the desert of
Arabia, where Macca is situate. This point in issue is decided in favour of
Muhammad accordingly!

Now the case of David’s calling 'My lord' is taken up for examination.
David says:
“The Lord said to my lord,
‘Sit at My right hand,
Till I make your enemies your footstool”
Psalms

Here there are two Lords mentioned, the first Lord giving refuge to the
second lord and hence the first becoming Superior. And the first Lord
making the second lord’s enemies his footstool, meaning giving victory to
the second lord in his encounters with his enemies, that too an unparalleled
and incomparable victory history could have witnessed ever.

Which of the two is the real Lord God of David and what is the real position
of the other?

Admittedly the Lord God of David shall only be the first Lord, to denote
which the term used in the original Bible is Yahweh, meaning God and for
the inferior second lord the term used is ‘Adon’, which means the
‘comforter’ or ‘advocate’ rather than the ‘Lord’.

To consider both the Lords and to imagine that the ‘God said to my God’
(Dominus meus dixit Domino meo), would only be ridiculous and will not
give the follower or the reader what the message wants to convey. So we
are certain that David is referring to in the second place only to a comforter
sent by his Lord of the first instance.
-79-

Even if the revelation is taken to be construed as referring to Jesus as the

‘Comforter’, David, still, can not call Jesus ‘his lord’, for Jesus is only a
descendant of David and inferior to him in age but equal to him in bringing a
revelation, the Gospels, to his own people the Israelites!

It is seen that David can not call his own descendant ‘his lord’ and it should
be some other person who must come not out of the descendancy of David.

If we go back and search the Old Testament, we find a convincing link in

Deuteronomy which points out the Prophet should hail from the brethren of
Moses, to mean go back further and the trace the brothers Esau and Jacob. We
find that Esau marrying Ismael’s daughter where Muhammad and Muhammad
alone emerged as the Prophet – a Prophet from the brotherly link of David as
well Moses.

15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your
midst, from your brethren, him ye shall hear,
And the Lord said to me…..

18 “I will raise them up a Prophet like you, from among their brethren and
I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all I
commanded him”.

This revelation is ample proof of what Muhammad claimed!

The Prophecy contained in these lines clearly denotes that the Adon shall be
raised up from among the brethren of the Israelites and not from among
themselves, but shall also cover them, that is the Prophet foretold shall be a
Universal Prophet and not like Jesus who was confined to Israel in his first
mission!
-80-

The foretold Messenger of God shall be like Moses. This stress should be
taken more seriously. When we proceed to compare the ‘likenesses of
Moses with Muhammad, we come across the following:

1. Like Moses, Muhammad is born of co-habitation of a natural born man

and woman!

2. Like Moses, Muhammad led a married life!

3. Like Moses, Muhammad had the direct vision of God!

4. Like Moses, Muhammad died a natural death!

5. Like Moses, Muhammad fought with his enemies and came out
successful, whereat God made his enemies his footstool!

6. Like Moses, Muhammad followed and propagated the covenant of

Abraham with God-the Covenant of Circumcision!

7. Like Moses, Muhammad fought against idolatry and destroyed all the
three hundred and sixty-four idols inside the Grand Mosque in Macca,
on his victorious Meccan entry! And a Muslim shall cease to be a
Muslim on his choosing idolatry!

8. Above all Muhammad emerged out from among the brethren of the
Israelites, he being an Arab in the descendancy of Ismael brother of
Isaac!
-81-

The mission of Muhammad is universal in nature, in which case it applies

and covers the Israelites as well, which the term 'for you' denotes in the
prophecy referred to above. Jesus never claimed that he came to the whole
world. He just confined his messianic claim to Israel only, by saying that 'he
came to the lost sheep of Israel' (Math 15:24).

On all these points and comparisons, the case of 'My Lord said to my lord'
(Psalms 110:1) can only be decided in favour of Muhammad and no one either
those admitted as prophets by the people or the other self-styled prophets as
well.

Now its is 'The Case of the Mighty Warrior' (Isa 42:11-13) taken up for
scrutiny.

11Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar
doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the
mountains.

12Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

13The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of
war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

-Arabic Life Application Bible

It should be noted that the Arabic term for the word praise, is translated as:
‘hamd’, from where Muhammad is derived!
-82-

It is already established that Jesus did not fight against anybody

during his first career and hence the question of 'warrior-hood' does not arise
at all, in the sense the term is associated with war and victory! Even if you
attempt to see whether we may consider Jesus as a mighty warrior in
establishing a great religion of the world, that too fails in the sense he had only
a fewer followers during his lifetime.

The Mighty Warrior is said to have entering the city 'alive!' Now Christianity
could have grown to be a big and mighty religion. Alas! Jesus, as Christianity
claims had been crucified and dead or as the Muslims rightly believe had been
lifted to the heavens alive by the Almighty God! In either case none can accept
that Jesus entered his city as a 'Mighty Warrior!’

On the other hand we go through the story of Muhammad and are astonished
to see him winning a number of battles, notably the battles of Badr, Uhad,
Khaibar and the battle of the Trench and a few more.

In the battle of Badr, Muhammad fought his stronger Quraish enemies with a
meagre 313 men on the side of Muslims and a 14,000 strong well trained
soldiers on the side of the Arabs. Yet Muhammad, the 'Mighty Warrior' won
the battle!

Should the 313 Muslims perished in that war of Badr, Islam could have been
crashed to the land then and there itself. Here lies the might of God
crowning the 'Prince of the World' (John 16:14) with the coveted 'Mighty
Warrior-hood'! No doubt this issue goes in favour of Muhammad and should
be decreed accordingly!
-83-

Finally the case of the 'Ten Thousand Saints' is taken up for perusal. We
have already negated that this prophecy does not suit Jesus, as followers of
Jesus had during his lifetime were a two digit one. But for Muhammad, his
victorious entry into Macca at its fall to him was meritorious, as he entered
the holy city accompanied by ten thousand followers! (Deu 33:2)

-New Standard Version

I have shown above various versions of Deuteronomy 33:2. The reader can easily
see how Bible has been corrupted to show the wishes of the writer rather than the
original revelation. In the Arabic translation they went a step further and
translated as if the Messiah coming with ten thousand Angels.

In most cases reference to “Ten Thousand” is carefully omitted. And in some cases
where the “Ten thousand” is mentioned, some editions translate as holy ones
whereas the highly approved

The proper and correct meaning would be that of the KJV and the saints should be
construed to the be the followers of the Messiah!

When Muhammad and his early converts were persecuted in Macca, he

chose to send a few to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) seeking asylum. Later on the
invitation of a group of pilgrims from Yathrib (Medina), Muhammad
migrated to the then predominant Jewish city and there he established a
stronger Islamic empire that the name of the city turned to be called the City
of the Prophet (Medinathunnabi) from its older name Yathrib.

After ten years of stay and a very stronger and successful propagation in
Medina, Muhammad returned to Macca for the farewell pilgrimage. While
so Macca surrendered to him and he entered the holy city triumphantly as a
'Mighty Warrior'!

The number of Muhammad's followers who entered Macca at that time

along with Muhammad, as history evidences were 10,000 Muslims. And the
prophecy of Ten Thousand Followers got fulfilled in Muhammad and His
Honour the Reader may not hesitate to decide the issue in favour of
Muhammad! The ten thousand saints referred to in the Bible are no other than
the companions of Prophet Muhammad!

-84-

The time of the Maccan entry took place just one year before the death of
Prophet Muhammad. In his pilgrimage sermon, Muhammad declared that
his mission was fulfilled and Islam stand fully completed that day. This, no
doubt was a message of glad tidings for the Muslim assembly there standing
