Describe the five job-related issues found in this case study.

I. Unhappy Working environment

- The employee is complaint about the environment in Indah Garments Company

which is too dull and boring, and the most entire situation in the office is silent. That

means this issue can effect on employees performance of work because they are too

boring when doing their work.

II. Specialized on one job responsibility

- The employee in Indah Garments Company feeling tired with all the same activities

every day which can increase their boredom. When they are doing the same job and

task, it would not challenge their mind and at the same time they cannot think out of

box because they just doing one specific task.

III. Does not have sources of reference for employee

- The employee does not know about their job description because there are no

people such as supervisors that must recruit and tell them about their job and task

which it is their routine work in the office and there no any source of reference for

them.

IV. Barriers in communication

- The barriers in communication will appear when there is more than one boss for one

employee that gives different instruction to employee for specific work. So, the

employee will get miscommunication bout the work if they are not taking any notes

about the job given by the bosses.


V. Lack of self esteem

- The employee will feel like disqualified for the job when the Indah Garments

Company opening for a new job of their position to new and fresh person. If this

problem appear again the employee’s ability on doing their job will decrease.

Provide one solution to each of the five issues or problem stated in Question 1. Include

descriptions on any special terms used n the solution.

I. Provide some music in the office

- This is the solution for unhappy working environment by turn on a calm and suitable

music for employee. As we know, the music can help employees to increase their

job satisfaction and productivity. Besides, music can help to reduce boredom and

monotony which can reduce nervous tension and strain. Music also can help relieve

mental and physical fatigue.

- For example: The employee can open a local radio or use their own music such as

tape and CDs.

II. Various the job responsibilities through multi-tasking.

- The Indah Garments Company should provide various the job responsibilities

through multi-tasking is the solution of focused on one specific job responsibility.

Where there should have multi-tasking for the employee that can reduce their

boredom in the office. At the same time, the employee can increase their knowledge

with the other types of task given and practically can do any type of job while

produce a better work.

III. Offer employee manual

- The company should offer employee’s manual to the staff as a reference and this is

the solution for the point of “does not have source of reference for employee”. The
employee’s manual have list of information about the company and job in that

organization which can give benefit to both party. When there is reference for

employee that can increase employee role and ability to finish their task.

IV. Use right flow of communication

- To avoid the barriers in communication, the bosses should use downward

communication, which means direction of communication that’s flow from superior to

subordinates. This type of communication can keep their subordinate in form give

them job related instruction inform them of organization policy and procedure and

provide them with feedback regarding their performance. This is the solution of

barriers in communication.

- When we are using the right flow of communication, it will not make the employee

confuse and complaint about the job.

V. Provide any training and program for motivation

- The solution for last point “lack of self-esteem” is providing any training and program

related to the motivation or self-esteem for the employee. This solution can give

benefit by increase their self esteem and at the same time they will more encourage

when being in the office. Beside that the employee will more confident in doing job

such as doing presentation or meeting with the client.
