Introduction:

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company is a joint venture between ICICI Bank - one
of India's foremost financial services companies-and Prudential plc - a leading
international financial services group headquartered in the United Kingdom. Total
capital infusion stands at Rs. 47.80 billion, with ICICI Bank holding a stake of 74%
and Prudential plc holding 26%.

We began our operations in December 2000 after receiving approval from Insurance
Regulatory Development Authority (IRDA). Today, our nation-wide reach includes
1,900 branches (inclusive of 1,074 micro-offices), over 210,000 advisors; and 6
bancassurance partners.

For three years in a row, ICICI Prudential has been voted as India's Most Trusted
Private Life Insurer, by The Economic Times - AC Nielsen ORG Marg survey of 'Most
Trusted Brands'. As we grow our distribution, product range and customer base, we
continue to tirelessly uphold our commitment to deliver world-class financial
solutions to customers all over India.

Ulips is insurance cum investment product, if invested in a proper manner it can meet ones long term
financial goals apart from giving all insurance cover. ULIPs are combination of insurance and investment.

Statements of the problem:-

Different investment avenues are available to investors. ULIPS provide good investment opportunities to
the investors like all investments. It also carries risk. The investor should compare the risks and expected
yield after adjustment of tax on ULIP while taking investment decision.

Objectives of the study:-

1. To understand the concept on ICICI Prudential ULIP and its working mechanism and types.

2. To know on the perception of investors toward ICICI Prudential of ULIP.

3. To known the factors considered by investors while investing in ULIP of ICICI Prudential

4. To analyze the Risk and returns of ULIP

5. To make necessary suggestion to overcome problem in ULIP.


Scope of the Study:

The study is limited to Bangalore City. This study is an attempt to know the investors perception
regarding ULIPs Life insurance and other investment either investors prefer to invest in ULIPS or they go
for life insurance plan and to known the investor’s perception towards other investment. Research will be
the help of primary and secondary data.

Sources of data are as follows:-

The study refers to a great extent on primary data and to some extent on secondary data.

Primary Data:

Primary data is gathered by using questionnaire and observation and interview technique.

Secondary Data:

The main sources of secondary data would be published sampling so customers are selected from the list
by using selectors.

Sample size for the study:

A sample size of 50 responders was taken to carry all the research.

Sample frame:

People who have invested in capital market.

Stastical analysis:

Stastical tools used are table and charts.

Data collection approach:

Primary data has been used to carry out the research. The secondary data has been collected from various
journals and publication for the purpose of gathering primary data a structure and non-disgussed
questionnaire is designed to collect data from the investor.

The questionnaire contains both open-ended and close ended questions.

Method of communication:
In order to minimize the bias data collection the method of personal interview was adopted.

Limitations of the study:

1. Due to time constrain it is not possible to cover entire area of Bangalore city.

2. Some of the respondents are reluctant to give information regarding their investments

3. The study is based on a sample size and hence the findings cannot be generalized.
