Make a reflection paper regarding the current situation caused by the pandemic covid-19 and how it affects our social, political and
cultural behaviors. (15 points)

When Covid 19 hit and spread around the world, I think majority of the countries were not prepared. Some governments,
instead of relying in science, let politics and business influence their plans. I think there was also lack of cooperation among
the population. Some still have birthday parties, or not follow guidelines, or just choose to go to work. We can’t really
blame them because their work might be the only source of where they get their food, and other needs. In other countries,
while work was suspended, the government would provide stimulus checks. But unfortunately, in our case, it is not enough
to sustain millions of Filipinos.

With the vaccine, I hope the government makes the right choice without having to do with profits.

Situations:
1. COVID-19 PANDEMIC: A lot of people are affected, and it deeply affected our economy. People who are working in
Manila or Cebu for example, are stranded for a long time. They are also unemployed for some time.
2. RACISM across the world: Even in this modern world, people cannot still accept the difference the color of the skin. Most
white people brand black people as dangerous. When COVID started, people were quick to generalize all Asian looking people to
have spread the pandemic.
3. ANTI-TERROR LAW in the Philippines: I think freedom of speech should not be curtailed. Upon my reaseach, it would
seem that there are few safeguards of the law. And some officials can abuse it.
4. LGBTQA acceptance in the society: There are problems some people since not all are accepting. 1 out of 1000 people will
have to accept. That is why, the members of the LGBT tone it down. But in countries where LGBT is celebrated, they tend to
make noise and be proud of it. However, in our country where the lGBT is not widely accepted, they tend to not make so much
noise.
5. WEST PHILIPPINE territory disputes: I think China is being greedy once again.
