Duties:
Supports the command's family readiness goals.
Provides overall leadership for the FRG.
Serves as the commander’s primary family member representative and point of contact.
Establishes and maintains communication with the chain of command to ensure
pertinent information is exchanged.
Serves as a member of the Unit Family Readiness Steering Committee.
Keeps unit informed of FRG activities or meetings.
Communicates with each contact family member regularly and as needed during periods
of deployment and sustainment.
Distributes accurate and timely information to family members.
Provides important family readiness information to the unit family readiness newsletter.
Recruits other volunteers to serve on FRG committees.
Provides opportunities for social interaction among unit families.
Identifies needs or unique problems of unit families.
Outlines the assistance offered by community agencies.
Acts as unit FRG spokesperson for communicating family members’ concerns and ideas
to the unit.
Maintains monthly volunteer hours and reports to the chain of command and the ACS.
The use of a motor vehicle, personal or government, is not required.
All FRG volunteers working with children require “line of sight” supervision at all activities
and programs with children in attendance. At no time will a volunteer who has not had
a completed background check be allowed to supervise children without a volunteer or
employee that has a completed background check.
Report any safety issues that may render you or clients susceptible to injuries.
