GET CLOSER TO VIBRANT,
URBAN CULTURE
Nestled on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, Halifax offers the best of two worlds: a rich history with close
connections to the sea, and a vibrant, young culture. As Nova Scotia’s capital, our cosmopolitan port city
is a major centre of the Maritimes and the largest city east of Quebec City and north of Boston.

The historic, tree-lined streets and unique architecture that

surround Saint Mary’s University make South End Halifax
a centre for urban diversity. From campus, you have easy
access to all amenities – everything is a walk, bike, bus or
ferry ride away.

Halifax has something for everyone: an explosive music scene,

more than 450 amazing restaurants, and a variety of museums
and galleries for any taste. Experience hundreds of kilometres
of beaches and coastline and enjoy surfing, rock climbing,
kayaking, skiing, hiking and more.

GET CLOSER TO PROFESSORS WHO WILL

CHANGE YOUR LIFE

One of the reasons Saint Mary’s students and graduates find such a high rate of success is the
valuable relationships they build on campus with faculty and staff. Our professors take the time to
get to know students and make an investment in their futures. It’s just one way that Saint Mary’s
can help you get closer to what you’re meant to be doing.

“At Saint Mary’s, most of the professors ensure that they know you by name,
remain committed to meeting your needs to the best of their ability, offer
flexibility outside of their arranged office hours, and, most importantly, they
are approachable and welcoming.” - Globe and Mail student ‘sound off’

Class sizes at Saint Mary’s are smaller than the national average for a reason. We believe in allowing
you more time to interact with professors who care about your success. Whether you know what you
want to do with your life, or are starting to explore your options, there are mentors at Saint Mary’s
who want to help you achieve your goals.

ON YOUR OWN,
YET COMPLETELY CONNECTED

For many of you, attending university is your first real chance to

spread your wings and experience independent living. In our
residences, you’ll join approximately 1,000 other students on our
close-knit campus – many of whom will become life-long friends. Single Dorm Room

By living in Loyola, Rice or Vanier residences, you won’t miss any

opportunity to take part in on-campus events, especially since all
university buildings are connected. In your dorm, you’ll enjoy social
events like movie nights, bowling, varsity events, intramural sports,
holiday parties and much more while getting to know new friends
from all over the world.
Double Dorm Room
Each residence has all-you-care-to-eat healthy meal plans with special
dietary considerations available. Residence Assistants on every floor
and a residence coordinator in each building are available to help if
needs arise. We provide phones and local phone service, as well as
cable and access to unlimited Internet on the university network.
