Healing

Does God want us to be healed?

Psa 103:1-3 Of David. Praise the Lord, O my soul;

all my inmost being, praise his holy name
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits--
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases

(Heal “rapha” To cure, heal, repair, and mend, to restore health.)

Yahweh-Rapha “the Lord who heals”

Is this only for the Old Testament? What did Isaiah say about Jesus?

Isa 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought
us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and
live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

But he was pierced for our transgressions (Transgression “pasha”) violation of a law, command, rebel; sin

he was crushed for our iniquities (iniquities “avon”) Gross immorality or injustice; wickedness,
perversity.

the punishment that brought us peace was upon him (peace “shalowm”) completeness, soundness,
welfare, health, prosperity, safty, with God especially in covenant relationship.
and by his wounds we are healed (Heal “rapha”)to heal, make healthful, of God, Healer Physician,of
personal distress, deflect hurts.

This is Jesus! If salvation is for all, healing is for all, it was paid for all on the cross.

It is funny, that we will tell people to go to church and give their life to Jesus be saved and your sins are
forgiven. But it is much harder to tell them to go to church and be healed. We have made it a bad thing
“be careful of the church over there they believe in healings”
What go to church and be healed , free from addictions ,curses broken, chains of bondages broken off.
No we better stay away from there.

In the following Scriptures (healed, saved, made whole, be whole) the Greek word is (Sozo)

MK 5:23 and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put
your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." -healed “sozo” Mk 16:16 Whoever
believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. -
saved “sozo” Lk 8:36- Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed man
had been cured. Cured ”sozo”; Act 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved.' [fn] -saved; Act 14:9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him,
saw that he had faith to be healed -healed; Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-saved; Lk 18:42-saved; James
5:15-save; Mk 5:34-made whole; Mk 5:28 because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will
be healed." -healed; Lk 17:19 Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."
-well; Act 4:9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple
and are asked how he was healed,-healed; Act 4:12-saved; Mk 6:56-made whole;

John 3:16
John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world
through him.

This save is the same (sozo)

How many would be saved if they heard a message of salvation like this;

Maybe it isn’t God’s will to save you.

Perhaps your sin is for God’s glory.
Perhaps God is using this sin to refine you.
Be patient in your sin until God wills to save you.
The day of miracles (conversion) is past.

We think this is silly why would we ever say that, however, this is how we approach healing. If it is
God’s will. We have His will that is what the New Testament is. Testament is what? You have a last will
and Testament. Tells everyone as heirs what you will receive. So if we study Gods Word, His will is to
heal. In my Bible about half of the NT is about healing, if we don’t want to believe in healing we should
just cross it out or better rip it out of our Bible so we don’t get confused.

Jesus tells us many times through scripture to go out and heal the sick, past tense.

Mat 10:1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal
every disease and sickness.

Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have
received, freely give.

Lk 9:2 and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Lk 10:9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'

Acts 4:30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your
holy servant Jesus."

James 1:2-6 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must
finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you
lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will
be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is
like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Trials; not sickness the word is temptation to sin.

But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt This is the hardest for us.
If we accept physical evidence instead of the Word of God, we will void the word of God and allow the
enemy has free rain. Stand on the word and clam the word until we see the physical change.

Acts 4:10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands
before you healed.

Jesus has given us the power and authority of His name to heal all. We need to have that faith of a child
with no reservations. Have this on our lips “with His strips we are healed”. Confess this instead of your
pains, coughs, headache, stress and sickness. The power of our Words, Jesus healed with Words; we need to
speak healing with our words.

Matt 8:8 The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But
just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Matt 8:13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would."
And his servant was healed at that very hour.

Religious leaders were threaded and tried to figure out what it was all about. Don’t try and
figure it all out, or we will miss the gift. We need to accept it just as freely as we receive
salvation.
