SENIOR ADULT XYZ MINISTRY ~ TUES., MARCH 1
The Senior Adult XYZ monthly program and luncheon
will meet Tuesday at 11:00 am. Tom Barrett will lead
group singing at 11:00 am followed by a “Memory
Makers” announcement about (a new service for
caretakers) by DianneArnold, co-founder. Mrs. Shirley
Berry, songwriter and singer from Water Valley, will
be the program including her inspiring testimony. A free lunch will be
served near the noon hour. Join us for a great time of fellowship and
ministry.

The Art of Marriage

This will be an incredible marriage video
conference that can both encourage and
strengthen your marriage. Weaving instruction from respected
pastors and Bible teachers together with compelling stories, hu-
morous vignettes, man-on-the-street interviews and more, this
conference will help couples apply what the Bible teaches about
marriage in a powerful way. It is practical, funny and straight
to the heart. Registration is underway and the cost per couple is
$55. Childcare will be provided, but the children must be regis-
tered.

March is FBC’s Month at the Pantry

For many years, First Baptist has supported the Pantry, the Oxford-Lafayette
Co. food bank. This year is no exception. In March, we will staff the Pantry by
helping to unload supplies and stocking shelves with food on Tuesdays. On
Wednesdays & Thursdays, we will restock the shelves. If you are able to help
on any of those days, please join us at the Pantry. For more information, or March 2011

Be in prayer as we
begin “The Call” this
month. In partnership
with North Oxford
Baptist Church, begin-
ning on March 6th,
groups of volunteers
will start the process
of calling every fam-
ily in Oxford in order to invite them to
church for a special service on April the
10th and to see if there is any prayer
need in their lives. Prayer teams will
gather as phone calls are being made in
order to pray for each need discovered
and to write a note of encouragement to
each person prayed for. An additional
group of intercessors will be praying for
these needs during the week. At FBC,
we anticipate being able to have 2000
conversations, 900 of which will be with
un-churched families. It is very likely
that at least 130 of these un-churched
families will respond positively to an
invitation to worship with us and that
20 of these families will come on April
10th. What a privilege and a thrill it
will be to have the opportunity on a
single Sunday to love and encourage 20
families in Oxford who have no church
family! In addition, we are likely to
receive 500 prayer requests of people
both churched and un-churched. Along
with our brothers and sisters at North
Oxford, we will be embracing our en-
tire city with the arms of Christ in the
power of intercession. I cannot wait to
see how powerful praying at this level
of intensity, unity, and comprehensive-
ness will move the heart of God to work
mightily in this city we love. I believe
the Lord is stirring a spirit of unity for
revival in the churches that will result
in spiritual awakening in Oxford. “The
Call” is another step in the process. Ask
God to help you to be faithful to what-
ever assignment He has for you so that
it might be said of us in Oxford what
was said by the people of the city of
Thessalonica, “These who have turned
the world upside down have come here
also” (Acts 17:6).

Life University Spring 2011
Life University, our Sunday night
Discipleship Ministry, is comprised of
various Bible Studies for Adults. These
studies meet on Sunday nights at 5:00 p.m.
and anyone can join any Sunday night.
Sunday School Leader Meeting
Sunday Night, March 20, 4:00 pm
All SS Leaders, preschool through adult,
are encouraged to attend this meeting in the
Fellowship Hall. The meeting will last one
hour with childcare provided. Those need-
ing to attend include SS Teachers, Outreach
Coordinators, Administrative Coordinators,
Care Group Leaders and Mission Coordina-
tors.
Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study
All adults are invited to Bible Study at 6
p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Matt Moore is
leading Max Lucado’s Outlive Your Life. The
challenge of this study is to live our lives in
a way that the world will be glad we did.
Adult Celebration Choir Rehearsal
If you are interested in being a part of our
Music Ministry Adult Choir, we would love
for you to join us for rehearsal on Wednes-
days at 6 pm. No Audition required - just a
heart that loves to sing and praise the Lord.
