The Holocaust

Austin, Ben S. The HolocaustShoah Page. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Feb. 2011.

This article was written and is maintained by Ben S. Austin. Ben is an Associate Professor of
Sociology at Middle Tennessee State University. For seven years Ben Austin has been on the
Holocaust Education Committee at MTSU. This article has a lot of good information and has a
very good work cited page.

Bülow, Louis. THE HOLOCAUST Crimes, Heros and Villains. N.p., 2010. Web. 23 Feb. 2011.

This article is dedicated to the Holocaust. This article has several links, lots of information and a
plethora of pictures. The pictures are very graphic and help me get a good feeling for what really
happened during the Holocaust.

Holocaust Eduication and Archive Research Team. N.p., 2006. Web. 25 Feb. 2011.

This article is all about the ghettos of the Holocaust. ghettos were not invented by the Nazis.
ghettos date back to medieval times. When most people think of ghettos they think of a
secluded, restricted town, but sometimes entire countries could be considered ghettos.

Holocaust Encyclopedia. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 6 Jan. 2011. Web. `25

Feb. 2011

This is a great source because it is part of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The
“Night of Crystal” was the name given to the night of November 9th and 10th 1938 when the
wave of violent anti Jewish porgorms. Porgorms in Russian means “to wreak havoc.”

Jewish Virtual Library. American-israeli Cooperation Enterprise, 2011. Web. 25 Feb. 2011.

This article is all about the Nuremberg Laws. The first law was The Law for the Protection of
German Blood and German Honor. This law states Jews can not be married and were not
allowed to employ a “German” female under forty five. I never knew the Nuremberg Laws even
existed so this article is going to be very useful.

Meier, David A. Adolf Hitler's Rise to Power. N.p., 2000. Web. 23 Feb. 2011.
This article is all about Hitler and his rise to power. It explains a lot of his childhood life and his
parents. Hitler was actually ashamed of his family. They caused him embarrassment and where
a big concern to him. Hitler’s father was the illegitimate son of Maria Anna Schicklgruber and
an unknown father.

New World Encyclopedia. N.p., 9 Feb. 2009. Web. 23 Feb. 2011.

This is another online Encyclopedia that is filled with useful Information. I already knew Hitler
had written the book Mein Kampf but I wasn’t sure when he wrote it. I assumed he had wrote it
while he was in power but this source states it was written before he came to power. The book
was ignored at first and didn’t become a best seller until Hitler was in power.

Rosenberg, Jennifer. About.com. The New York Times Company, 2011. Web. 23 Feb. 2011.

This article is packed with information about the Holocaust. Aside from the information on the
main page there are various links that lead to different Holocaust topics. When I first opened the
page I learned that not all “concentration camps” were death camps. Aside from death camps
people used the term “concentration camp” to describe transit and forced-labor camps.

The "Final Solution". N.p., 1990. Web. 25 Feb. 2011.

This sources main point is the Final Solution. It is a online guide for teachers but its packs a
punch of information about the Holocaust. It explains the Ghettos and the concentration camps.
I feel it is a reliable source because it is part of a teacher’s guide.

The Wannsee Conference. N.p., 4 Feb. 2004. Web. 25 Feb. 2011.

This article is filled with information on the Wannsee Conference. I had no idea what the
Wannsee Conference was until after I read through this page. It was very useful and would be a
good asset to my essay.

Vogelsang, Peter, and Brian B. Larsen. The Danish Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.

N.p., 2002. Web. 25 Feb. 2011

This source is packed with information about the six extermination camps. Chelmno was the
first camp established that caused the death of 152,000 people in a period of two years. This

gas fumes from vehicles to suffocate the Jews.
