Primary Activity Days
Elder Wall
Michael is doing very
well in Chile. Every
week he comments on
how nice the people are
and how well they treat the
missionaries. He received a new
companion at the beginning of De-
cember. His name is Elder Cusick
and Michael went to Woods Cross
High with him. He said it is nice hav- of them. He

Once a week, the mis-
sionaries host an Eng-
lish class. Most weeks,
no one shows up, so Michael has
been practicing the piano and is get-
ting very good at it. He has also
learned a few chords on the guitar
and bought himself an ocarina
which is a type of flute made out of
clay. He has been able to use his art
skills in the mission field. Families
love to see him sketch a caricature

On Christmas, he was
able to “Skype” us.
Just in case
you don’t know
what that is (I didn’t),
it is where you can
talk for free over the
Internet. You need
a web cam and a
microphone with speak-
ers. So not only did we
get to talk to him, we got
to see him! It was awe-
some! Yeah for technolo-
gy!!
Before he skyped us, he
went down to the shore
(the same place he saw
the penguins). This time, he was
able to reach into the water and
catch two baby sharks with his
hands. He and his companion put
them in a five-gallon bucket and left
them at the church while they went
to the Internet shop to Skype us. I
haven’t heard from him since to find
out the end of that story.

Every week Michael sends
me his testimony of the week.
These are his testimonies for the
month: He is thankful for the persis-
tence and diligence that he has
been taught so that he never has to
give up. He is thankful that he has
the ability to love everyone no mat-
ter what and help them and accept
them for who they are. He has a tes-
timony of following the promptings
of the Spirit and being obedient. He
says he is super blessed to be
where he is right now and he knows
he is there for a reason. He has a
testimony of faith. He knows the
Lord places people in his path so
that he can help them along the way.
He knows that he can be ten min-
utes late to the bus stop, and the
Lord will still send a bus.
Michael has been very blessed on
his mission. He loves every minute
of it. He is working hard and learn-
ing and growing. The language
comes easier every day. He loves
the people he is serving!

Dec. 21 This week I caught a good
ol’ cold and was under the weather
for a couple of days. It started last
Wednesday when we had a flat tire
and no pump, so we decided that
we would be diligent and still go out,
walking instead. We walked about
four miles in the rain, trying to get to
an appointment and it started to get
even colder than it already was.
We stopped at a gas station to get a
drink and when we came outside,
the parking lot was completely iced
over. As I started walking across, I
took a drink and slipped/skated for
about 10 feet, trying to keep from
falling and, in the process, spilt my
drink all over me, right in front of a
car. I am sure they had a good
laugh.
Things were pretty bad at this point
with the freezing rain, so we decided
to head back home since there are
no sidewalks and we had to walk on
the roads. On the way home, there
were about 10 accidents and I heard
that some people were stranded for people really are still alive (haha).

the day after Christmas that we had
to stay inside because the weather
was too bad. I just had to laugh as I
sat back and enjoyed my time relax-
ing.
I am grateful for all the love that I
have received this year and it truly
was a Merry Christmas! I appreciate
everyone who has been supporting
me through my mission.
