AGFA-COMPUGRAPHIC INSTALLATION Rps2024 (3/3 installing the lamp_arms The lamps have been factory-set for a correct and even lighting. At the end of the lamp arms are screw bolts, with which the angle of in- clination can be changed. The screw bolts lean on the base frame and push the lamp arms up. At the back of the lamp housing there are adjusting screws, with which it can be levelled parallelly to the copy board. The measurements on the drawing are guidelines and may be slightly dif- ferent from camera to camera. They should be equal for the left and right arm after adjustment, how- AGFA > Installation RPS 2024 Setting the lamp reflectors The reflectors and halogen lamps are springy suspended and as such mounted in the lamp housing, so that adjustment for correct lighting is possible. Thanks to the three-point fixing, the reflectors can be turned up, down, left and right. Their basic position is straight and 2.5 om from the top of the lamp housing. The light equalizers are in front of the lamps and mounted on the lamp housing. They can be adjusted. Due to the factory-set lighting, an other position may be on hand. The light equalizers have to cause a shadow dot in the middle of the copy board, so that the light inten- sity ratio between the middle and the A2 corners is approximately 1 to 1.6. The measured values in the separate corners should be equal, with a tolerance of + 500 lux. The lighting should always be tested with large format masters and readjusted if necessary. The master has the following tasks: Computation of the exposure times. = Control of the light sources and the vacuum. = Control of the motors for the carrier and the lens board. - Registration of the read signals of both motors. - Storage of the user and master data in the statistic memory V 14, - Data transmission of the lens data to the slave-CPU. ~ Reading and processing the densitometer data. ~ Communication with the display and keyboard con~ troller on the display board (V1-8279). The modules V3, V4 and V5 also belong directly to the master. These modules of type 74 LS 245 are bus drivers for the data and address bus. All bus signals are connected with pull-up resistors. 1.2 Clock Generator The heart of the generator is the quartz (CRYSTAL). The generator generates a clock signal of 4.9152 Miz and supplies the time basis for all CPU functions. The square signal termed "clock", is passed to the clock inputs of both CPU's and to the keyboard con- troller. 1.3 Reset Circuit The reset module V10 (TL 7702) ensures a defined reset pulse after the supply voltage is switched on. The functions of the various signals are: RESIN - comes from the reset switch beneath the penel, is used for manual resetting. RESSTAT - passes to the auto-check board to dis- play the reset status. Error code 1 implies reset is active. RESM ~ reset signal for the master-CPU, active low. RESHM - inverted RESM signal for the keyboard controller 8279 on the display board. The circuit generates a reset pulse when the voltage at the sensor input falls below 3 V. ‘e 1.4 Address Decoding This section of the circuit generates the /CS signals for the memory sector, for the in/outputs and the key- board controller. The data exchange takes place via 8-bit wide ports of which 2 are presently being used. The D flip-flops 7418374 V34 and V36 are used, V35 and V76 are intended for subsequent applications. Via V34 data is given to the slave-CPU, via V36 the slave reports its latest status. 1.9 Slave-CPU The slave-CPU V37 is a type Z80A module like the mas~ ter, which is also operated on the clock of the master. Via V16 and Tl, the master can reset the slave-CPU, when it runs out of control. The modules V40/V58 are responsible for address de- coding on the slave-CPU. The slave program is stored in module V42, whilst the computed data is stored in V43. The IC V38 of type 74LS245 operates as a bus driver. The modules V62 and V41 are used as input resp. output ports to the lens board. 2. Keyboard and display pe-board HC 5.1 43 413 - 1021 The pe-board controls the inputs via the keypad and the outputs via the display. The inputs are made with various function and command keys and via the 10 block numerical keypad. The display is made through 28 7-segment display and by 18 LED's. The circuit of the keyboard and display boards is di- vided into several function groups: Group Designation Drawing 2.1 Controller Module Page 07.03 2.2 7-segment displays LED displays Page 07.03 2.3 Decimal Points Page 07.03 2.4 Panchromatic Page 07.03 2.1 Controller Module The heart of the complete pc-board is the keyboard and display controller, type 8279 (V 1). The module controls the scanning of the displays and memorizes the values to be displayed in an internal RAM. The data is written by the CPU directly into the RAM sector at the address at which it is to appear in the display. The other task is administration of the keys. When a key is actuated, the 8279 issues an interrupt to the CPU. The CPU can then enquire the value from the key The decoder 7442 addresses the key gaps and the 8279 queries the key lines via return lines RLO - RL7 2.2 7-segment displays and LED's The displays are scanned by the 8279, with the module issuing the BCD data vie Out AQ-A3 and BO-B3 to the IC's V4/V5 of type MC 14547, which operate as BCD-to-7- segment decoder. On the cables SLO-3 the 8279 gives the address of the displays and LED's which are then decoded by IC V8 (ue 4514). The LED's have the following function HL o- Stop 11 H2 0 - Stop 16 H3- Stop 22 H& ~~ Exposure time correction HS - Vacuum H6 - 3-dimensional H7 ~~ Defocus Heoo- Test HQ - Lens 135/150 am H10 - Lens 210/213 om H1l - Lens 270/305 om H12 - Original H13. - Copy H14 - Bump H15 - Incident light H16 = Backlight HI? - —- Dialight HI8 - Pause/Standby The displays have the following functions: H30/31 = ~— Program No. line work W32/34 = - Basic exposure time H57 + H35 - Program No. screen work 136 - Filter number 37/39 - Factor H40/42 = ~~ Screen extent W43/45 9 - Density minimum H46/48 9 - ~~ Density maximum H49/52 = — Input sector 453/56 - — Exposure time 2.3 Decimal Points The decimal points in the input sector are controlled by the D-£1ip-flop V10 (7475). The transistors T9 - T12 are used as power drivers. 2.4 Panchromatic The IC V16 type CA 356 is an operation amplifier which amplifies the input signal from the sensor and thus blanks the display. The panchromatic signal can be switched off with the external switch. Power Board 5.1 43 413 - 0207 The power board is mainly the interface between the CPU board HC 6.1 and the camera periphery. The circuit is documented in the following circuit diagrams: Title Drawing No. POWER BOARD 5.1 COMPLETE WIRING DIAGRAM E202 page 11.03 POWER BOARD 5.1 MOTION CONTROL CHANNEL "A" E202 page 12.03 POWER BOARD 5.1 SPEEDRAMP GENERATOR CHANNEL "A" E202 page 13.03 POWER BOARD 5.1 DIGITAL VOLTAGE METER E202 page 14.03 POWER BOARD 5.1 MOTION CONTROL CHANNEL "AB" E202 page 15.03 POWER BOARD $.1 SPEEDRAMP GENERATOR CHANNEL "AB" E202 page 16.03 The pe-board consists of various blocks and function groups: Group Name Drawings 3.1 Power supply page 11.03 3.2 DC/DC transducer for - 5 V page 11.03 3.3 Reference voltage generation page 11.03 3.4 Relay switch stages page 11.03 3.5 MOSFET switches for pre-exposure page 11.03 3.6 Oscillator 1 page 11.03 aa) Oscillator 2 page 11.03 3.8 Optocoupler interface page 11.03 3.9 Speed control of the drive motors page 12.03 page 15.03 3.10 Position control for the carrier page 13.03 positions page 16.03 3.11 Digital voltmeter (DVM) page 14.03 3.12 Auto-check page 11.03 3.1 Power supply An external switched-mode power supply (primary switched mode) supplies the power board with the volt- ages U3 = +5 V and U4 = + 12 V. Two LED's (D5 and D6) indicate the presence of the voltages. D6 expires when the necessary voltage level U3 for safe TTL operation drops below + 4.75 V. 3.2 DC/DC transducer for - 5 V From the positive operating voltage U3 - 5 V, the negat- ive operating voltage US - - 5 V is generated using the integrated special circuit ICL 7660 (V7). 3.3 Reference voltage generation The basis for generating all reference voltages is the internal reference voltage source of IC V108. This is available with 2.5 V at Pin 16, and is known as UREF 1. The other reference voltages are derived from this using IC V5: UREF 2: +5 Vat MP 4 UREF A: variable (about + 2... +3 .V) at MP 5 UREF AB : variable (about +2... +3 V) at MP 6 UREF 2: serves as a reference for the nominal speed values: - MAN SPEED (manual movement) - MIN SPEED (minimum speed at the end point of a positioning movement) In addition, UREF 2 serves as a reference for the F/U transducer (IC V115), which generates the analog actual speed values from the di- gital tachometer signals of the drive motors. UREF A: Reference voltage for the D/A transducer IC V108, which generates the speed profile for the "A" motor from the digital input data. By changing UREF A with P2 (MAX SPEED) or P3 (SPEED BALANCE), the maximum speed resp. the speed balance is set between "A"- and “AB"~ drive. UREF AB: Reference voltage for the D/A transducer IC ¥208, which generates the speed profile for the "AB"-motor from the digital input data. The maximum speed is set by changing UREF AB with P2 (MAX SPEED). P3 (SPEED BALANCE) has no effect on UREF AB. 3.4 Relay switch stages The light sources "Backlight" and "Dialight" as well as the vacuum pump for the negative carrier are supplied with line voltage from the relays Kl, K2 and K3. RC elements on the relay contacts prevent switch dis- turbances and reduce contact erosion. 3.5 MOSFET switch The pre-exposure light sources are supplied through the MOSFET Tl with 12 V d.c. 3.6 Oscillator 1 This oscillator generates an unsymmetrical, low-fre- quency rectangular-pulse signal (about 25 Hz), which can be measured at MP 9. Its frequency determines the pitch of the start ramp of the speed profile. 3.7 Oscillator 2 This oscillator supplies a symmetrical delta signal, which is required for the pulse width moduletors (IC V117), The signel has an amplitude of 8 V resp. a frequency of 13 kHz and can be measured at MP 10. 3.8 Optocoupler interface The IC's V17 .. V24 are optocoupler modules, which ensure galvanic decoupling of all signal lines to the output stage board 5.1 (MOSFET bridge output stages). This ensures that interference voltage which can occur in the drivers is kept away from the power board. 3.9 Speed control of the drive motors These are P-Tl controllers, which receive their set- points (RAMP A (AB)) from the higher ranking position controllers. Their output signals (MP100, MP200) con- trol the pulse/pause ratio of the pulse width modu~ ators (IC V117). The tachometer signals are differentiated in-phase and subsequently supplied to the F/U transducer, This en- sures evaluation of all flanks of the tachometer sig- nals, which keeps the ripple of the actual speed volt- age as low as possible. The speed control circuits have secondary current con- trollers, whose analog output signals CA and CAB are transmitted linear from the output stage board and also have an effect on the pulse width modulators. 3.10 Position control of the carrier positions According to the actual and setpoint positions, the relative maximum speed values, resp. the distance to the target position is recorded prior to every posi- tioning process as a tachometer pulse number, serial via the DATA lines in the reference meters V103, V104 or V203, V204, The setpoint meters V101, Vi102 and V201, V202 supply the speed setpoint profile in conjunction with the D/A transducers V108 and V208, The digital comparators V105, V106 and V205, V206 compare the read- ings of the setpoint meter and reference meter, whose output signals are processed further by the control logic. Following the start command, the setpoint meter is incremented until the value stored in the reference meter is reached. This results in a linear speed increase up to the maxi-~ mum level. With the BRAKE signal, the brake process is initiated by the computer. The setpoint meter is now decremented by the tachometer signal of the associated motor until the meter reaches "0", The speed is thus reduced in relation to the target distance and reaches its minimum in the target (MIN SPEED). As a matter of principle, the time of the BRAKE signal from the target point is calculated by the CPU from the maximum speed for a brake sequence. With a smaller target distance, where the maximum speed is not reached prior to the arrival of the BRAKE signal, the reference meter is then decremented by the tachometer signal. The setpoint meter continues to be incremented, until uni- formity is achieved between the setpoint and reference meters. Only then is the setpoint meter reduced by the tachometer signal to "0". Where the distance to the target at the start is less than the brake path required for positioning from maxi- mum speed, the START and BRAKE signal are set jointly. Prior to this, the distance from the target is set in the reference meter, instead of the maximum speed. Straight after the start this is immediately decre~ mented from the tachometer signal. The setpoint meter is incremented until uniformity is again achieved with the reference meter, following which it is also reduced to Zero by the tachometer signal. The change-over to manual operation and resetting of the meter modules (reset) is controlled by the MAN/AUTO signal. 3.11 Digital voltmeter (DVM) The DVM is used to register the line voltage. This permits line voltage dependent adjustment of the exposure times. With the 125 test the current voltage level can be shown on the display. NOTE ! This circuit section is directly connected with the mains (LINE AREA), galvanic separation from the other circuits only takes place in optocoupler V4, The U/F transducer V3 converts the line voltage propor- tional input direct current into an equivalent fre- quency (fo * 5 kHz). This digital signal is transmitted via optocoupler V4 to the CPU where it is evaluated. The circuit is adjusted with Pl. 3.12 Auto-Check For rapid defect diagnosis, numerous functions of the power board and the periphery are monitored. In the event of a defect, a defect code is transmitted by the priority encoder VIS to the Auto-Check board, where it appears as a digit in the display. 4. Output Stage Board 5.1 43 413 - 0208 The power electronics for driving the carrier position~ ing motors is located on the output stage board. The circuit can be split into the following function groups: Group Name Drawing 4 MOSFET bridge output stages page 17.03 4.2 Current control and overcurrent protection page 17.03 4.3 Power supply page 18.03 4.4 Voltage monitoring page 18.03 4.1 MOSFET bridge output stages The MOSFET bridge output stages permit a metered supply of energy and rotational reversal of the motors, with- out actuating mechanical contacts. Energization of the transistors is achieved by applying a gate voltage. In this, the control circuits are interlocked in such a manner that according to the selected direction, only one bridge diagonal can be conductive at any one time. The pulse width modulated signals, coming from the power board, control one of the lower transistors, whilst the associated upper transistor is permanently energized via the optocoupler. A thermostatic switch on the underside of the heat sink protects the MOSFET transistors and voltage regulator IC's against overheating. 4.2 Current control and overcurrent protection The voltage decreasing at the "CURRENT SENSE” resistor is a dimension for the flowing motor current. This is compared by the comparator V3 with a maximum level adjustable via R130 (R230), Where the motor cur— rent exceeds the set value, an immediate shutdown of the lower transistors is achieved through the "SHUT DOWN" circuits. The downstream circuit shows whether current continues to flow despite the interrupted activation. If this occurs, e.g. due to a defective MOSFET, the main power circuit is interrupted by Kl or K2 for about 40 seconds (SHORT-CIRCUIT BREAK). If there continues to be a short- circuit, there is an immediate disconnection for an additional 40 seconds, etc, From the pulse shaped output signals of the comparator V3, an analog control voltage (CA resp. CAB) is ob~ tained, which in conjunction with the power board pro- duces a motor current dependent pulse width effect (secondary power control). 4.3 Power supply The output stage board is supplied with two galvanic~ ally isolated alternating currents ACL = 16 V/1 A and AC2 = 16 V/O.5 A, From this, the operating voltage UI + 15 V and an auxiliary voltage +U2/-U2 = + 15 V is obtained. Two direct currents 40 V/8 A (UMOT A, UMOT AB) are required to supply the motors. The presence of the operating and auxiliary voltage is indicated by the two LED's LD1 and LD2. AC] and AC2 are fuse protected on the board with Fl and F2. The motor voltages UMOT A and UMOT B are externally protected with 8 A. 4.4 Voltage monitoring All operating and motor voltages are permanently mon~ itored by a control circuit (Voltage Control Circuit). Where one of the voltages drops below a permitted mini- mum, the main power circuits are separated by Kl and K2, 80 as to avoid endangering the MOSFET's. Where the control circuit actuates, LED LD3 expires. On the Auto~ Check display defect code digit 5 appears. 5. Lens Board The lens board is responsible for acknowledging the lens and stop settings. In addition, this board also controls the motors for the lens, stop and shutter and the position of the switches for the manual shutter and filter load to the CPU. In addition to these tasks, the lens board 43 413-0753 is responsible for controlling the filter motor and acknowledging the filter position on the board. The board is split into various function groups: Group Nane Drawing 5.1 Light Barrier Signals Page 25.03/29.03 5.2 Data Input from CPU (2226) Page 26.03 5.3 Data Input from CPU (2024) Page 30.03 5.4 Power Section (2226) Page 26.03 5.5 Power Section (2024) Page 30.03 5.6 Filter (2226) Page 25.03 5.7 Filter (2024) Page 29.03 5.1 Light Barrier Signals The signals of the light barriers are processed in the same manner in both board versions, that is for the 2226 and 2024. The light barriers type H21B1 from General Electric are operated on the input side with 11 mA via the power pack RN1 (330 Ohm), The collector of the output tran- sistor is connected to a comparator which has its switch point at 2.5 V (V 183). The reference voltage for the comparators is generated by V 3B. The outputs of the comparators are inverted by V 2 and transmitted to the parallel-serial transducer V 4 (7418165). V 4 is changed over via the inputs SH/LD between the modes push (high) or load (low). The data is then shifted bit by bit from the output /QH to the CPU. 5.2 Data Input from CPU (2226) The CLOCK, DATA DIR and DATA IN inputs are used for data input. DATA DIR - Data direction data input/data output CLOCK - Clock pulses data input/output DATA IN - Data input from the CPU The CLOCK signal is switched back and forth between CLOCK IN and CLOCK for V 4 using the DATA DIR signal. This change-over is made with V 5A and V 5D (NAND gate). The inverter V6 is used as a driver and to turn the phase of the incoming signals. The input data is placed in an intermediate memory in the flip-flop V 7 type 74LS109. Only one bit at a time is read into the board, so as to actuate drive movements. 5.3 Data Input from CPU (2024) The data input to the lens board 1378 functions like the input on the 0753 board. ‘oe ‘e 5.4 Power Section (2226) In the power sections, both the IC's V12 and V13 are responsible for controlling the motors for the filter, lens and stop. V2 and V13 are modules of the L298 type. These modules can switch a maximum current of 2.5 A. Each of the L298 outputs is equipped with 2 diodes, one connected to + 12 V and one against earth, to protect the motors against peak currents. V12 controls the lens and stop motor, V13 controls the shutter and the filter motor. The data from the CPU is inserted in the serial-paral- lel transducer V 8 of the 74LS164 type, always one bit at atime, and is passed on to the final stages via V9 and V10. The V9 and V10 modules are additionally responsible for ensuring final shutdown of the hardware. In this case, the signals to the final stage are blocked. Using the R/C combination RN8 and C20-23, the pulses to the final stage are screened. 5.5 Power Section (2024) In principle, the power section on board 1378 functions like the RPS 2226, except that the V13 is missing and control of the shutter is ensured by the V11 ULN 2003 5.6 Filter (2226) Processing the filter information, which arrives at the board via plug X82, takes place via V14 a type 74LS165 parallel-serial transducer. The function of this module is like that of the V4 for the lens and stop information. 5.7 Filter (2024) The 2024 does not have automatic filter adjustment, only the switch for the filter loading BW filter 6. Motor Connector Board (MCB) (Page 31.03) The motor connector board, known as MCB, collects the read signals of both carriers and the signals of the busbar. The signals of the readings are coded and amplified via the 75153. The module 75153 is a 50 Ohm power driver with double outlets, that is the read signals are issued once with the correct phase and once with the phase reversed. This type of date transmission ensures considerable data safety. The power supply for the board is obtained via plug X 22 (5 V). The read signals from the A-motor come via plug X 23 to X 24 of the AB motor. The signals from the busbar arrive at X 25 in the board. The collected data pass via X 22 to the power board where they are processed still further. 7. Auto~Check Board 43 413 - 0176 (Page 33.03) The auto-check board displays problems within the cam- era through an error code. BCD data is supplied to the board at plug X70, which is then decoded by the BCD to the 7-segment decoder IC3 (741847) and is then sent to the display through V10. Both the LED's, V7 for AB and V8 for A, have priority over the 7-segment display, i.e. with an error report on the LED's, the display is blanked. ‘The error codes are: Error number Description 1 Reset status, reset actuated at HC 6.1 2 Vacuum error 3 Pre-exposure not okay 4 12 V missing 5 Safety disconnect at OSB activated 6 Error in sector A ~ downwards 7 Error in sector A ~ upwards 8 Error in sector AB - downwards 9 Error in sector AB - upwards LED A No voltage for A-motors (e.g. fuse) LED AB No voltage for AB-motors (e.g. fuse) 2a os fe, Hl ree PIMS 2024/1191 Page 1/1 MACHINE RPS 2024 TEMPS ESTIMEIA) 3 heures. With this new sealing the distance between original and upper glas platte is reduced and the vacuum time is shorter. rubber seal ing—_.X With this modification the maximum format of originals changed which necessitates also new line projection screens. The new vacuum inserts can be mounted into older cameras without any problems. The spare part order numbers of the new parts are: vacuum insert 43327-0172 line projection sreen DIN 43927-0173 line projection screen Inch 43927-0174 If the vacuum time is still too long, please remove the two rubber stoppers from the pump housing of the vacuum pump. The noise of the pump will change a little but the air can pass off much easier. rubber stopper —e-| RPS 2024 Serviceinformation 99/91 12.11.91] 10.08.00 Intercop Information FETS Ref From FN 821 onwards we are using a new master software with the version number 5.2 and the identifcation date 06.6.91 and a new slave software with the version number 4.1. With this software the interrogation of the light barriers for the sizing system is changed. In some cameras it can give problems in size setting when film holder or lens carrier passing the reference 1:1 light barrier. Due to vibrations the light barrier is sending a few sig- nals to the CPU and film holder or lens carrier moving into a wrong position by up to 10 mm We also changed the communication between master and slave which eliminates a shutter problem occuring from time to time. This shutter problem vas "not opening for the exposu- re" but the exposure runs down with the choosen light. source. ‘The order numbers of the software chips are as follows: Master 5.2 43327-0540 Slave 4.1 43327-0541 We recommend a change of the software in field cameras when customers complaining about above mentionend problems. Both, master and slave software must be changed. Please check also during new installations that the cameras are equipped with the new software (252 TEST). Uf this new softwares should also be installed in cameras with FN num- bers lower than 711 (Without answer-back signal for extern flash) the following modification must be done on the lens board at Ic V 14 (7418165): connect pins 3, 4, 5, 6 and 14 to pin 15 With this the software is able to check the status of the lens board functioning for extern flash. Another shutter problem (immediate closing after start of the exposure} was already eliminated by installing the 10 Q resistor and a 2200 pF capacitor at the shutter motor, Please see therefore the Intercop Infor- mation 10.07.00 dated 07.03.91 We also like to announce the spare part order number of the memory chip (NovRan), position V 14 of the CPU: 43413-1032. The spare part order number of the cable isi 43413-3040. It is available fron stock Intercop. Orders given under the old number are automatically changed to the new number The cable is mounted in the left side of the film holder. Through a hole in the middle of the film holder the cable is guided together with other cables and the vacuum hose to the power board. For dismantling, respectively mounting of the cable proceed as described below: 1. Move film holder with 210 mm lens into 100% position and remove the glass plate 2. Loosen the bellows bars and put the bellows down to lens carrier (see enclosed picture} (For suction back cameras remove the side covers of the film holder and the rear bellows plate) 3. Remove the front cover and open the front panel 4. The cable can be removed now from the CPU and from the cable clamps 5. Open rear covers and remove the cable from the power board and from the cable clamps 6. Remove the front covers from the column (see enclosed picture} 7, The cables and the vacuum hose are guided through a little metal canal, this is fixed by two screws to the back side of the film holder and must be removed with the cable 8. The opening in the film holder is very small. We recom- mend to remove also the other cables and the vacuum hose to the back of the camera. It is easier than to pull the 64 polar cable through the opening. 7. The mounting of the cable takes place in the opposite sequence. Please note, that after mounting the bellows bars and the glass plate a leveling and synchronization of the film holder is necessary.
