Pastor’s Notes

REVIVAL, revival, revival, revival,

revival…….. I know some of you
think that is all we talk about here lately. Well, the
truth is that has been our focus these first two months
of this year. All our efforts, attention, teaching,
preaching, FASTING….. all have been geared
towards what will help us have revival. But here is
something that I’ve been pondering since Sunday.
How many people REALLY want a renewing of
their relationship with God? How many want a fresh presence of God manifested in their
lives and in their church? How many want to experience something that will so
revolutionize them that it impacts sinners and brings growth and expansion?
Many people signed up to fast this year, but was the #1 thing you fasted for really
REVIVAL or was it something else on your list? Did you long for revival so much that
you’ve stayed true to the commitment to fast? Are you committed to attend all the revival
services?

Today is Tuesday, March 1st….. It was 14 years ago today that an explosion happened in
the sanctuary of our church. It was an explosion of God’s presence as 50 or so HUNGRY
people gathered in the sanctuary to pray after a trip to Florida. We simply wanted to
gather and ask the Lord to move in us during the worship on Sunday, but we kept praying
and crying out to God. HE SHOWED UP!!!!! I don’t think I will ever forget that night.
When we came in on Sunday, HE WAS STILL THERE!!!!! WOW….what an awesome
outpouring of God. BUT GOD HASN’T CHANGED!!!! His promise is that He still
longs to meet with us that way, but as Pastor Jason reminded us Sunday night, “He is
waiting on us”. So how do we see God do what He wants us to do. These are my notes
from Pastor Jason’s message on Sunday night: 1) Consecration…. Wash our hands,
purify our hearts and have Godly sorrow. 2) Must have a desire and yearning for God. 3)
Lay down everything. 4) Worship

Can I count on you to practice these things this last week before Revival starts? Will you
consecrate yourself? Will you fast and pray until there is a genuine desire and
yearning for God and His presence? Will you lay everything down and not let
anything keep you from being in God’s house? I’ve already heard of people that aren’t
going to be here Sunday, the first official Revival Meetings. Would you lay it down if it
meant the salvation of your lost loved ones? Would you lay it down if it meant physical
healing? Would you lay it down if it meant a job offer? Will you make up your mind to
become a ‘crazed worshipper”?
THIS SATURDAY NIGHT at 7:00 PM, we will be
having a PRAISE CELEBRATION to thank God for
being with us through the fast and also declaring an end
to the 40 days of fasting. We had an awesome time last
year. I don’t expect this year to be any different.
PLEASE…..don’t let anything keep you from joining
with us. We will have some video, praise & worship,
testimonies and MORE PRAISE to celebrate. We’ll
also spend some time in prayer, ushering in the presence of God as we start revival the
following day!

Just wanted to say how great our youth did this past Friday night at the Saluda Church of
God. They led in praise & worship, did drama and Pastor Jason brought the Word of
God. WHAT A GREAT TIME OF WORSHIP IS WAS!!!!! I’m so proud to be the
Pastor of the Woodruff Church of God and was so proud of ACTS STUDENT
MINISTRIES and Pastor Jason. We are blessed!!!!! Special thanks to all the youth staff
that was there and for all their hard work. You guys are the best!!!!!!

March 23-25, The Teens for Christ and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be
having “Team Impact” as a community evangelistic effort. Churches are joining
together to support this effort. Our church has been asked to team together with these
organizations and area churches. What an opportunity for us to reach untold numbers of
people with the gospel of Christ. As you can imagine, many volunteers are needed to
make this happen. There are several areas that you can sign up: 1) Prayer team, 2) Set-
up/clean up (this is actually setting up the cement blocks and other items that they will be
breaking up…clean up and disposal following), 3) feeding the guests, 4) Follow-up team,
5) Altar Response Team, 6) Parking area team.
The sign up sheet is in the hallway leading to the bathroom. Please sign your name under
the area you wish to serve along with the best contact phone number. When the deadline
for signing up has arrived, someone will be contacting you about the area in which you
signed to serve. Thank you in advance for showing the Woodruff Community how much
Woodruff Church of God cares for them and wants to see them change for CHRIST!!!!!
Please don’t forget to pray for Israel and the world situations. I received this letter from
Michael Utterback, Executive Director of Ministry to Israel…..

“Warmest greetings from Jerusalem!

I’m sure you are very aware of the upheaval across the Middle East. It seems that every
country around us is in turmoil. Everyone from the political leaders of the world to the
man pushing a broom on the street wants to know what the outcome of all this will be.

Here in Israel, all eyes are on Egypt. The most fearful part of the events in that nation is
the seemingly dormant Islamic organization called the Muslim Brotherhood.. Though
they consider themselves to not be violent, they support and encourage Jihad. Yet,
according to recent polls taken of Egyptian citizens, they are not popular and most people
living there do not want them to have a leading role in the government. Fact is there is no
charismatic leader to be found for the protesters, which gives rise to the concerns that
someone will fill the void.

My take….I see this as a transition time. God said He would shake the nations and that is
just what He’s doing right now. From the weather patterns, economic struggles, nuclear
threats and so on, we are seeing God’s hand at work….”
