Showcase your personal taste

Food-service professionals dish
on planning the perfect reception
BY LORYLL NICOLAISEN
I DO MAGAZINE

Food is a part of any good celebration,

so make your big day a delicious one.
Friends and family are sure to work up
an appetite attending your wedding, and
there are plenty of ways to incorporate
taste into the day’s events.
“The food is a large part of the recep-
tion,” said Janet Moranda, owner of Lin-
coln Oaks Catering. “I think it always has
been.”
Not sure where to start in the reception-
planning process?
When considering the appetizers, the
meal, the cake and all the other edibles,
the biggest thing to keep in mind is what
you like — this is your day, after all.
“I always try to focus on the couple and
their families — what kind of people are
you? Where do you like to eat? It’s really
about paying attention to their likes,” said
Melissa McCullough, senior event coordi-
nator with Randy Peters Catering.
Moranda of Lincoln Oaks Catering, said

Going

wonderful stories it could tell. Maybe
there’d be some delicate lace, too, or
exquisite siren-worthy satin.
Reality, though, isn’t always so pretty.
Some vintage dresses are those perfect
