JOB TITLE: Cloud IT Technician

REPORTS TO: IT Operations Manager
LOCATION: Strood Academy and Trust Offices

MAIN DUTIES

● Must have skill sets are ​Google Admin experience, Active Directory/Group Policy, ​MFD’s, Papercut,
Sophos antivirus.
● Likes are VOIP, ​Veeam, VMware, SCCM, Silverpeaks.
● Provide support, maintenance and installation services for the local IT hardware and services
● Assist with the design, specification, installation, configuration and on-going maintenance of client
desktops, mobile computer systems and servers.
● Responsible for a wide range of technical duties associated with the computer network and
desktop services.
● Liaise with 3​rd​ party suppliers in relation to fault diagnostics and rectification of IT systems. To
monitor the performance of suppliers and contractors who provide hardware or services to the
organisation
● Monitor the performance of hardware and software both to evaluate their on-going suitability
along with identifying any recurring problems, and provide appropriate feedback/reports to
Management, senior staff .
● Monitor the use of software to ensure all usage adheres to license policies and the software is
appropriately supported and GDPR Compliant.
● Assist the IT Services Helpdesk by completing tickets assigned within a certain SLA.
● Maintain documentation of all systems, Update SOP’s for services and operating environments
● Ensure all local IT infrastructure is well maintained and organized
● Maintain asset registers for all hardware

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

● Expertise of current IT best practice, products and statutory requirements

● Knowledge of modern network infrastructure devices including routers, switches, firewalls and
cable management
● Expertise in maintaining Google based infrastructure and knowing how to administer the systems ,
Windows desktop systems, software and services, Mac desktops and laptops, Chromebooks, Ipads.
● Expertise in supporting user services such as G​ oogle Admin, ​ VOIP, V
​ eeam, VMware, SCCM,
BioStore, Active Directory/Group Policy, ​MFD’s, Papercut, Sophos, SilverPeaks.
● VOIP, network printing, photocopying services and user requirements including web access, data
storage and retrieval, email services and various software packages
● Expertise in Microsoft technologies i.e AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO

DESIRABLE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

● Knowledge of Google based systems, gmail,drive,vault,Google Classroom.

● Developing and maintaining IP telephony, Video conferencing hardware and software
● Knowledge of networking concepts including IPv4 and VLANS
● Knowledge of WIFI technology systems and services
● Knowledge of MS Server OS’s in a domain environment
● Knowledge of LDAP and VPN services
● Knowledge of both physical and virtual server environments

 ● Knowledge of Microsoft server platforms including SQL Server and System Centre Configuration
Manager
● Knowledge of Adobe cloud .

● Willingness to perform above and beyond normal expectations when necessary
● Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, identify new approaches and question traditional
approaches and assumptions
● Ability to identify and meet the needs of internal customers .
● Own transport required due to the requirement to attend multiple sites. Clean driving License.
● An awareness of ITIL best practise guidelines

The key tasks outlined above are generic to the role of Senior IT Technician. In addition, you will be
expected to undertake the specific tasks as outlined by the Line Manager.
