GENERAL PLAN OF ACTION

Vision for the committee:

A committee that
O – Optimizes results
P – Personifies brand
S – Sustains purpose

I envision an Operations committee that is diverse and goal-driven, always carrying the
name of the organization in its activities and united as one to create a stable and
healthy working environment within the committee and the whole organization.

Specific Plans

⇒ OPTIMIZE.
Maximize potential, minimize costs

Heading a committee that initiates, organizes and conducts all the entrepreneurial
activities of the Circle, every step of implementing a project is essential. A specific
planning period will be established at the beginning of the semester to ensure an ample
amount of time for the carrying out of the project. This will aid the chairpersons to
minimize costs (financial- and opportunity-wise) given the tools that each has. Also,
evaluation of each project will be performance-based along with the introduction of a
Goal Achievement Scale (GAS) to be completed by the chairpersons of each project.
This will include a self-assessment test to see if their project is in line with its
objectives. This will also serve as a tool that can maximize their potential for the next
committee projects to come.
⇒ PERSONIFY.
Improve visibility, build relationships

The Operations committee spearheads most of the organization’s projects, putting it in

a position of higher recognition than the other committees. To avoid having this gap,
members of the committee shall be asked to staff in at least one of the other
committee’s projects. This will also improve the visibility of the Ops members as
followers, not just as heads of the organization’s external projects.

Part of the duties of the Operations committee is to establish a good relationship with
other organizations inside the campus as well as other school organizations. This will be
achieved by scouting for projects which share the same thrust of the Circle and properly
screen each one. Existing relationships with other organizational bodies will be
maintained (i.e. UP-ISSI, DTI) and developed. Partnership with other student-run
organizations will allow the Circle to build relationships outside the campus and foster
camaraderie between different schools.

⇒ SUSTAIN.
Motivate individuals, unite the group

In a committee with over a dozen members, a solid support system will be created to
enhance the performance of each member especially in his/her own project. This will
not only motivate the chairpersons as individuals, but will also unite the group; building
a stronger character and developing an environment conducive for learning and sharing
experiences.
