My past problems when writing mining research projects at ISPT

Previously, it was very difficult to carry out the research project from the topic to
completion. The delimitation of the theme is the starting point of the research, knowing
the real objective of the theme, the resources used to develop the suggested theme, the
target group is the beginning of a successful research, because with the deficiency of
these resources the research may not bring ideas exact or results that the scientific
community or the company can take advantage of, in this term were some challenges
that I encountered when defining the realization of the research project before sheltering
in this institution. When the topic is not well defined, the researcher loses focus because
he does not have clear and easy ideas about the research, this happens in the scope of
information gathering, it is possible to find other information about the topic and this
loses its objective and the project automatically becomes no interest, so there is a
limited need to clearly define, choose the target group, define the limitations of the
theme and follow without fail the activity diagram suggested in the research.

A very important point found in the past is to carry out the schedule of activities and
follow it. Chronogram is like the researcher's clock, knowing every detail of your
project, days and activity that will be carried out and the beginning of a research that
aims for success. My previous research was not planned so it was difficult to follow
with the defined theme, it took longer for a tremendous failure, a lot of information was
found from books, the internet and studies already done with some scholars but I had no
real idea when to do it the comparison, or rather, when the researcher can go to the field
to collect data in order to enrich the research.

I had difficulty in presenting and analyzing the data to obtain faithful results, in
addition, the lack of knowledge of the techniques of the tools used to collect data such
as observation, interview and questionnaires, especially when it comes to qualitative
research, had a negative influence on my results. With the absence of data collection
tools, there was no way to develop the methodology, as this chapter is defined exactly
with the collection tools and the forms of analysis suggested according to the theme.
They were examples of some difficulties found in the context of conducting research in
my past.

Currently, in the mining area, it requires resources that will be used to analyze the data
collected the lack of a laboratory to develop some topics such as analysis of the amount
of ash, amount of water in the coal, equipment to analyze the level of noise and the level
of contamination. Through washing and processing coal. The extraction of coal is
anticipated by a detailed study of the amount of ash according to market demand, when
the researcher does not have his own equipment for data collection, it can contribute to a
failure with regard to the development of a research project.

The big problem I find is the lack of equipment like the decibel meter to control the
level of noise pollution. Many studies carried out so far mainly in my mining area, the
results found are based on empirical analysis from the point of view of the researcher
and the questionnaires made, this can be misleading in the research, because some
personnel contribute negatively in the delivery of data, this helps in definition of the
results found in the field of the research. Certainly, with the lack of data collection and
analysis resources, the research is merely the discussion of bibliographic theories and
clearly provided with spell results because it is based on studies already done in other
institutions, as the result found in this research is evident that it does not it is
generalized only to the company that carried out the research.

In the field of mining, great challenges are encountered: water pollution that causes
diseases in the community and the decrease in water resources. In this case, the
researcher needs to have his / her own information not only about the company and the
community, but also with his / her own equipment to ascertain the veracity of the facts
found; in this case the research can be concluded hastily if the researcher looks at the
level of negative or positive comments as a reference. Collected through questionnaires,
observations and interviews, as the selected sample can be misleading.

Now the institution has works for reading and comparing ideas from different authors,
but it does not have its own equipment for data collection and detailed analysis of the
samples found in the research field. These are some of the challenges encountered in my
journey of carrying out a research project at this institution.
