The first step in finding the concrete cost estimate is to first find the volumes of the structural members.

In order to do so, we need to refer to the drawing plan and specifications of these members to compute
the area and multiply it by the depth and quantity. So first, for the roof beam, the lengths of the beam
were calculated and summed up, then multiplied with the corresponding width and thickness as based on
the schedule for the roof beam. Thus the resulting roof beam volume is 38.5425-meter cube.

For the footing, we need to refer again to the plan and look for the schedules of the column and footings.
The dimensions as were then multiplied in order to get the volume and the resulting volume is again
multiplied to the number of footings specified on the plan. The resulting total volume of the footings is 10
cubic meter.

For the column, the same process was done, referring to the schedule of the columns and multiplying the
dimensions and the quantity of columns to get the total volume. The result is 15.39 cubic meters.

For the wall footing, referring to the schedule on the plan for the wall footing, getting the volume, the
resulting is 0.02475 cubic meter.

For the Ramp pavement as shown on the plan, the dimensions were measured and after finding total
volume, the resulting volume is multiplied to the quantity of ramp pavements specified on the drawing.

Since flower boxes are included in the drawing plan, it is part of the cost estimate. There are 2 flower
boxes of the same dimensions and another with a bigger dimension. Calculating the volume of the flower
boxes. The resulting volume for flower box 1 is 1.764 m3 and for the flower box 2 is 5.5419 m3. The floor
slabs were calculated separately for the ground floor, the second floor and the entrance area. The total
area of the slabs was calculated and measured in accordance to the drawing plan minus the width of the
walls. The resulting area is then multiplied to the standard thickness of the slabs which is 0.1 for the slab
on fill or the slab for the ground floor AND 0.125 for the hanging slab. The volume for the floor slab of the
ground floor is 50.807 m3, for the second floor which is 71.223 m3 and for the entrance which is 3.612
m3.

In order to find the bill of materials and the concrete cost estimate, we need to follow the standard or
default class which is class A with a cement, sand and gravel ratio of 1:2:4. Multiplying the total volume
to 9 bags of cement, we get the quantity for cement. For the Sand, we need to multiply the total volume
to 0.5 and for the gravel, multiply the total volume to 1. Before proceeding, we need to make
consideration of the possible waste, so we need to multiply the quantities to 1.05 to get the 5% allowance.
Resulting to the quantities for the cement, sand and gravel which are 1868.231 bags, 103.791 cubic meters
of sand and 207.581 cubic meters of gravel, respectively. The quantity of the particulars is then multiplied
to the corresponding unit costs. Summing the resulting amount for Portland cement, which is 364305.1
pesos, for the gravel which is 44629.96 pesos and for the sand 145306.86 pesos, gaining the sum of
554241.885 pesos or simply 554242 pesos.
