TEACHING EXPERIENCE

2009

Instructor of RecordCeramics 13 Semesters, Summer School. Instruction in basic hand building and wheel throwing. Basic bisque and glaze firing, as well as cone 6 gas kiln reduction firing. Students are required to do artist research and creative research, a research project/paper, and keep a sketchbook of ideas and processes.

2007 - Instructor of Record- Ceramics II Hand building- 1 Semester. Instruction in more 2008 advanced sculptural techniques and creative processes. Projects include both wheel thrown and hand built elements. Students are encouraged to undertake various styles of sculptural work such as: installation, tromp l-oeil, wheel thrown and altered, and slip cast. Students

are required to do artist research and look at contemporary and historical trends within the medium. Instructor of Record--3 Dimensional Design2 Semesters. Instruction in Fundamentals of Design including Principles and Elements, creative problem solving for 3-D artworks, and basic color theory. Students were required to do artist research and keep sketchbooks for problem solving and process. 2006 Instructor of RecordArt for Elementary Education Majors2 Semesters. Instruction in myriad art techniques such as: portrait drawing, perspective, proportion/ figure painting, watercolor, color wheel, coil built clay, relief printing, gadget prints, and paper maiche sculpture. Students were responsible for writing lesson plans based on the Discipline Based Art Education model.
