The Walk for the Children is on Children's Day (El Día Del Niño) in
Mexico; April 30
Dear friends
Witness at the Border, with our many local and national partners,
including Border Network for Human Rights, Hope Border Institute, and
Families Belong Together (current partner list here), are hosting a Walk
for the Children/Caminata por la Niñez on April 30 in El Paso to call
attention to immigrant children confined in US custody who have
exercised their right to migrate and seek asylum.
The Walk for the Children is on Children's Day (El Día Del Niño) in
Mexico; April 30 also marks the 100th day of the Biden
Administration. Current policies have led to almost 23,000
children in CBP/HHS custody. While some facilities are much
better than others, they still all confine children, keeping them
from family members, who are ready in most cases to
immediately provide homes for them.
Thank you!
Best,
Margaret
