As a microfinance organization active in the Philippines, MicroFinance Transparency (MFTransparency) and the
Microfinance Council of the Philippines (MCPI) cordially invite you to a half-day morning workshop on transparent
pricing in the Philippines. Details of the workshops are as follows:
The workshop in Davao City will mark the official launch of the Transparent Pricing Initiative in the Philippines,
sponsored by Luxembourg Cooperation. Through this Initiative we will offer training on transparent pricing and collect
and publish data on the prices of microloans offered in the Philippines. At this workshop we will share the new industry
standards for calculating interest rates for microcredit products and explain how your institution can actively participate
in the Transparent Pricing Initiative in the Philippines. This workshop is a valuable opportunity to network with peer
institutions as well as learn from the experiences of institutions in countries around the world.
MFTransparency works with MFIs, Central Banks, and funders to bring pricing transparency to the microfinance industry.
MFTransparency enables transparent communication between suppliers and consumers of microcredit products. We
have conducted similar workshops and data collection efforts in 22 countries throughout Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin
America and Sub-Saharan Africa, including Bangladesh, Cambodia and India. Nearly 700 industry professionals and
organizations have committed to transparent pricing by endorsing MFTransparency.
This complimentary workshop is open to senior management and junior staff alike, but we suggest that at least one
person from the management level and one from the operational level, with detailed knowledge of your
organization’s credit portfolio and products, attend the full workshop.
Please send the names, titles and email addresses of the individuals that will represent your organization, as well as
indication of which workshop they plan to attend, to philippines@mftransparency.org. Ms. Jessica Haeussler, Technical
Specialist, can also be contacted with questions at jessica@mftransparency.org. Following your RSVP we will confirm
your attendance and send you additional information.
Attached you will find a short description of MFTransparency and our work. We encourage you to attend this exciting
event and learn how you can be a leader in transparency for microfinance in the Philippines. Please save the date for
22nd March in Mindanao (Davao City), 24th March in Luzon (Manila) and 28th March in Visayas (Iloilo City). We look
forward to meeting you.
