Where Does the Future of Civilization Lie?

Interview David Gelber
WHAT: Much of what people do today is “for the good of society”: health care for everyone, resources
and programs to help those in need, and world peace. But what would this utopia look like exactly?
What are the hidden dangers of a such a peaceful, giving society?

Future Hope by David Gelber presents a world without modern day dilemmas such as war, suffering,
and limited resources. Yet, the circumstance is not as perfect as it seems to be. With Earth’s population
bursting at over 60 billion, hope lies in one man to find a suitable planet to call our new home.

WHO: Houston-based surgeon David Gelber is the author of the book, Future Hope (Emerald Book
Company, ISBN 978-1-934572-34-4, $23.95, January 2010). This novel offers a captivating outlook for
the future of Earth and society.

WHEN: David Gelber is available for interviews upon request. His book is available for review.

SHOW SEGMENT IDEAS:

• America’s government is growing rapidly. Will the changes we see now lead to utopia or
demise?
• One world currency: The recent economic crisis has shown us the world’s economies are vastly
interconnected. China and other countries are pushing a one world currency. How will this
affect the world’s governing bodies as a whole?
• A Global Democracy—Gelber envisions a peaceful, tolerant world with far less prejudices and
disagreements. What would this look like?
• Call-ins: What would the implications be of a world comprised of peaceful nations that
employed common laws and practices on such topics as legal rights, abortion and privacy?
• If the human race had to move, who would decide the new pioneers from those left behind on
Earth? Would there be integration with other civilizations, if present?
• Call-ins: If moving to another planet were a religious obligation, how would you address it in
your own life? What if this entailed separating you from your family and friends?
