OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (I) Under normal conditions you will find that on going over the
ground the first time you can reach a depth of 5", but by going
(A) To start Engine, first make sure clutch is disengaged and

Mount the side rails to the center rails, They may be
mounted in either the inside or outside set of holes,
depending on the work to be done. Now mount the
adjusting plates on the center rail. Fasten the ad­
justing arms to the side rail and the adjusting plates
as shown. Now mount the shovel and standard
assemblies and gage wheels.

ADJU STMENTS AND O PE R A T ION

The width of the cultivator is adjusted by loosen­


ing the center bolt in the adjusting plates and sliding
the plates forward or backward. Additional width
may be obtained by using the outer set of holes.

OPERATION
Rate settings prescribed for various materia l s a re
based on normal tractor mowing speed. If tractor is
operated in low gear, then spreader should be set
leaner (toward a smal ler n u m ber) as more material
is appl ied at a slower speed.

Plan to operate the spreader i n the d i rection of the


longer d i me nsion of lawn.

First apply two spreader widths across the shorter


sides. These "headers" provide room for turning
around at end of each of the long strips.

Then go back and forth from one header strip to the


other u ntil the entire a rea is treated. When a p p roach­
ing these end zones shut off the spreader to avoid
double a p p l ication. Keep it closed w h i le backing or
tu rning a round to avoid extra dosage.
