Unit 2- How we communicate - Their environment should reflect the topic and hypothesis
Lesson 1- Development of language Assessment
- Understanding the brain (Chomsky, Pavlov, Skinner) Have a rubric for each product and have a checklist of must have’s for when students
- Cognitive Charades are completing observations.
- Verbal/non verbal ways of communicating
Lesson 2- Language and society (men and women) Due Monday November 8, 2010
- Reflection and analysis homework: Give students a choice of three Presentations Wednesday November 10, 2010
cultures and their way of communication. Students complete reflection
on similarities and differences.

Objective: Students will observe, examine and draw conclusions from the different Lesson 5-
ways people communicate in the school. In pairs, students will analyze gender
differences in communication focusing on the three main elements of human Unit 4- Social Institutions (block) chapter 5 and 6
communication: vocalizations, gesturing and facial expressions, body language. Lesson 1
Students will pair up to design and collect data of member of the opposite gender. Lesson 2

- Each student must submit their own report. Students can choose to Lesson 4
present their observations in one of three ways: a power point Lesson 5
presentation, poster (11x17) minimum, or 1 page written summary. Lesson 6
- Students will be completing this work individually. Lesson 7-

- Observations based on forms of communication (verbal and non
