Physical
Includes pushing, shoving, slapping, hitting
with fist, kicking, choking, grabbing, pinching,
pulling hair, threatening with weapons, misuse
of medication, restraint and inappropriate
sanctions.
Sexual
Includes forced sex with threat of violence, sex
after violence has occurred, pressure consent,
use of objects or damaging acts without
consent.
Emotional
Includes ‘brain washing’, control of freedom,
threats of harm or abandonment, humiliation,
blame, intimidation, harassment, verbal abuse
and isolation.

Help

Physical
Series of unexplained falls or major injuries,
injuries/bruises at different stages of healing,
bruising in unusual places (inner arms and
thighs), abrasions, jaw and teeth misalignment,
injuries to head or face, victim or person very
passive and withdrawn.
Sexual
Change in behaviour, overt sexual behaviour or
language, difficulty walking or sitting, injuries to
genital and/or anal area, inexplicable behaviour
