Continuing Education Programme On
PROJECT RISK ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT
IN ASSOCIATION WITH
THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, USA
2201 G. ST., NW, SUITE 550 WASHINGTON, DC 20052

Duration: 3 Days – Residential Programme

Venue: MDC, Lonavala
Date: 21st to 23rd June 2010

GENESIS OF THE PROGRAMME

No project is risk free otherwise it is not worth doing. All project stakeholders face
risk of different types, impact and probability. Risks are the main determining factor
for success and failure of projects and each stakeholder must have a plan to manage
these risks before and after commitment to the project. Limiting the negative or
adverse impacts and maximizing the opportunities must be a best practice for
managing projects. Project Risk Analysis and Management will help you assess and
manage risks and opportunities at all the stages of the project from project
selection, initiation, design and development to implementation and closing.

The program has been conceived to bring in currently relevant international

practices in risk assessment and mitigation techniques for projects.

PROGRAMME DELIVERY PROCESS

The program’s delivery is a powerful and learning rich mixture of lecture (based on
current research and project risk analysis and management experience), relevant
case study analysis with challenging individual/group exercises and interactive
debriefing sessions that draw out powerful insights from participants.

FOR WHOM

This programme would be of immense use to SBU Heads, Project Directors, Project
Managers, Procurement Heads, Estimation Heads, Construction Managers,

REQUIREMENTS FROM PARTICIPANTS

The participants - individually and in teams – will be required to work through

stimulating, thought-provoking calculations of project risk.
Apart from inputs from the resource persons, we also expect the participants
to make presentations and to carry out extensive group discussions on their
experience and learning. Hence participants are requested to bring their
Laptop to facilitate various activities like presentation, case study etc .
The programme involvement is intensive and hence is designed as a
