In Proverbs 22:6 (New Living Translation), the Word says
(and we are personalizing it)…
6
“Direct Michael onto the right path, and when he is are older,
he will not leave it…”

Today Leeann has brought Michael whose name means, “Who is

like God?,” to publicly display her intention to direct Michael onto
the right path just as Hannah did her son Samuel.

As you stand here today Leeann, we charge you as ministers of

the Gospel to riase Michael in the way of the Lord. As we ask each
question, please answer your vow to do so by answering, “I
will…”

• Do you today recognize Michael as a gift of God and give

heartfelt thanks for God’s blessing?
• Do you now dedicate Michael to the Lord who gave him to
you, surrendering all worldly claims upon his life in the hope
that he will belong wholly to God?
• Do you pledge as his mother that, with God’s fatherly help,
you will bring up Michael in the discipline and instruction of
the Lord, making every reasonable effort, with patience and
love, to build the Word of God, the character of Christ and
the joy of the Lord into his life?
• Do you promise to provide, through God’s blessing, for the
physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of
Michael, looking to your own heavenly Father for the
wisdom, love and strength?
• Do you promise, God helping you, to make it your regular
prayer that, by God’s grace, Michael will come to trust in
Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of his sins and for the
fulfillment of all his promises to him, even eternal life; and in
this faith follow Jesus as Lord and obey his teachings?

(Turn to the family represented) As Michael’s family, his bloodline,

do you vow to assist Leeann in the keeping of her vow to the Lord
to raise this child in the ways of the Lord? If so, please answer by
saying “I will.”
Christ Central Church Family, do you vow to support this young
mother in her vow to raise this child in the ways of the Lord, doing
whatever you can to see him grow in Christ and become the man
of God he was crated to be? If so, please stand and say. “I will…”

Please join us in praying for Michael… (PC hold Michael and have
pastoral staff and elders gather around Michael)

Michael, together with your mother and loved ones, who love you
dearly, and this people who care about the outcome of your faith,
we dedicate you to God, surrendering together with them all
worldly claims upon your life, in the hope that you will belong
wholly to God for ever.
