RAMAKRISHNA MISSION VIDYALAYA

Coimbatore - 641 020

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, now a vast complex of 19 educational wings, commenced its activities in the year 1930 to actualize the educational philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. The father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, laid the foundation stone of its first institution, a school. Dr. T.S. Avinashilingam, the Founder-Secretary, nurtured the Vidyalaya with his visionary and devoted service. Though it began humbly as a school with a single student under a thatched roof in Coimbatore, as it grew, it was affiliated to the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah, W.B., in January 1935. As envisaged by the great Swami Vivekananda, the Vidyalaya strives hard to impart manmaking and character-building education to the youth, and to inculcate in them self-reliance, self-control, selflessness and such allied qualities that go to develop leadership, sense of responsibility, and love for the country.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life--think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success. Swami Vivekananda
