Course Synopsis
The course examines the concept of benchmarking, the criteria for successful benchmarking and later
apply their understanding of the benchmarking strategy to the various organizations in which they work.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, learners will:
1. develop skills in benchmarking
2. increase knowledge and awareness of benchmarking
3. improve responsiveness to changing situations and circumstances
ensure students are able to successfully utilise the knowledge and skills in both private and
public management.
Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the subject, students should be able to:
differentiate benchmarking processes from other processes.
formulate the benchmarking exercise for an organization.
compare the benchmarking activities in the private and public management.
evaluate the benchmarking processes.

Mid Semester Test : 20%
Final Examination : 50%

Course Requirements & Policies
You are expected to fulfill the following requirements of the course to obtain a grade:
Attendance
You need to fulfill at least 75% of the attendance
Participation
You are expected to participate actively during class/lecture’s hours. 5% will be allotted for
participation
Assignments
Two individuals assignments will be given to you and you to submit according to the time given
to you.
Mid-Term Test
Mid semester test is a subjective question. 20% will be given to you through assignments
Final Examination
Final examination will be in essay format and it is worth 50% out of the total marks
Examination Format
Final exam paper is divided into two sections. Section A worth 40% consist of four questions. Each
of the questions worth 10%.Whereas
section B worth 60% consist of three questions and each questions worth 20%. The duration of
the exam paper is three hours.
