In terms of (1) G.O.Ms.No.26, Higher Education (U.E.II(2)) Department, dated 24-3-2004 and its amendments,
issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and 2) the Proceedings No.APSCHE/CETs/LAWCET-2010/Jan, dated
18-01-2010. issued by A.P. State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad, Sri Venkateswara University,Tirupati,
Andhra Pradesh will conduct the Law Common Entrance Test–2010 (LAWCET-2010) for entry into those seats of 1st
year of Five Year/Three year LL.B./B.L. Degree courses for which the Government is competent.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
The Law Common Entrance Test – 2010 and its ADMISSIONS will be made in strict compliance of the Rules
and Regulations of the University Concerned , BCI, APSCHE and relevant G.O.s of A.P that are in force and
also amendments that may come into force from time to time.
1. Duly filled in application form for Entrance Test may be sent by Speed post/Registered Post or any mode or
delivered in person at the Office of the Convener, LAWCET-2010, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati – 517
502, as per the schedule.
2. If a candidate applies for 3 year Law Course on the application form of 5 year Law Course, or vice versa, the
application will be rejected.
3. Candidate should refer the application number for reference in all future correspondence with the Convener.
4. The list of recognized/approved Law Colleges along with the sanctioned strength and the courses that are permitted
by the Bar Council of India/University concerned/APSCHE and the seats for which the Government is competent
to make admissions for the academic year 2010-2011 will be informed after publication of the results.
5. The admission process will be notified separately by the APSCHE, Hyderabad
Specific instructions to fill in the Intelligent Character Reading (ICR) form of the application are given on the
reverse of the ICR form which should be followed carefully.

I. INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING ENTRANCE TEST


ELIGIBILITY FOR LAWCET-2010 3 year LL.B./B.L. Course: The Candidates for 3 year LL.B./B.L. should
have passed any Graduate Degree(10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or
any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned.
5 Year LL.B./B.L. Course: The Candidates for 5 year LL.B./B.L. should have passed two year Intermediate
Examination (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by
the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.

Note : There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying examinations for 3year/5year Law
course in favour of the Candidates belonging to SCs/STs.
1. A candidate appearing for the above qualifying examinations may also take the LAWCET in anticipation
of results. In case of such students, their entry shall be subject to their securing eligible marks in the said
qualifying examinations.

2. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post graduation through open Universities system
directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in
the law courses.
3. Age on admission : (a) Subject to the condition stipulated by the Govt. of A.P., on this behalf, the maximum
age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 3year and 5year LL.B/B.L Course shall be Thirty
years(relaxable by five years in case of SCs/STs) and twenty years (relaxable by two years in case of SCs/
STs) respectively as on 31st December of the year of seeking admission.
Note: Mere appearance in LAWCET will not give any right of admission. The candidate should satisfy all
the eligibility criteria and should satisfy rules governing admission as are applicable.

made there to from time to time.

Note: If the total number of candidates in any centre is less than100, the Convener reserves the right to
cancel the centre and in such case the candidates will be allotted to the other nearest centre.
3. The CONVENER, LAWCET-2010 reserves the right to reject the application of any candidate at any stage,
and there will not be any correspondence if:
a) the application is incomplete, or
b) the application is not signed or attested, or
c) the candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility conditions, or other rules of admissions or
d) the entries in the application form are illegible or not filled or marked as required or
e) the application is received after the due date and time with or without fine.
No correspondence will be entertained with regard to rejection of application on any one or more of the
above grounds.
4. Any change whatsoever including that of Caste/Community/State/Category will not be permitted to be
made in the application after its receipt by the Convener.
5. Medium of Entrance Test: The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.
6. The Original Hall Ticket will be sent by Post and will not be issued to the candidate in person. The Convener
will not be responsible for non-receipt or postal delay or loss in transit of the Hall Ticket.
7. In case of non-receipt of Original Hall Ticket, a Duplicate Hall Ticket will be issued to the candidate by the

Chief Superintendent of the Test Centre concerned to which the candidate is allotted, one day before the
entrance test, during office hours on production of:
i) Acknowledgement card ii)Attested passport size photo similar to the one affixed to ICR Form, and iii)
Payment of Rs.30/- (Rupees Thirty only) by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Secretary, APSCHE
payable at HYDERABAD
8. Qualifying marks in LAWCET-2010: The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35%
(i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). There will be no minimum qualifying marks for S.Cs and S.Ts for
ranking.
9. LAWCET-2010 Results:
a) Evaluation: Every care will be taken to avoid errors in evaluation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and
ranking. Hence, request for retotalling or revaluation or personal identification of scripts will not be
entertained.
b) Ranking: Candidates will be ranked in the order of merit in the LAWCET-2010. In case of a tie in the
marks obtained in the Entrance Test, the candidates will be bracketed for purpose of awarding rank and
the relative rank will be decided as per A.P. Law Common Entrance Test Rules in force.
c) Rank obtained in LAWCET-2010 is valid for admission into 3 year/ 5 year Law Courses, as the case
may be, for the academic year 2010-2011 only.
d) Rank cards will be sent by post to the candidates as per the address entered by them in the ICR form
e) In case of non-receipt of Rank Card, a duplicate Rank Card will be issued to the candidate by the Convener,
LAWCET-2010 on payment of Rs.30/- (Rupees Thirty only) by a D.D drawn in favour of The Secretary, APSCHE
payable at HYDERABAD .

10. The answer scripts of candidates taking the LAWCET-2010 examination will be preserved for 6 months
from date of announcement of LAWCET-2010 results.
11. The conduct of LAWCET-2010 is subject to orders and instructions issued by the Government of Andhra
Pradesh from time to time.
12. All disputes arising out of any matter concerning LAWCET-2010 shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the
A.P. High Court only. In such disputes, only Convener,
LAWCET-2010 S.V.University Tirupati and Secretary, APSCHE can be impleaded as respondents.
13. Test Paper Information: The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the
study of Law. The Test consists of three parts, Total number of questions will be 120 and the duration of test
is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.
Part-A : Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General Knowledge and Mental Ability
Part -B : Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 Marks : Current Affairs
Part-C : Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 Marks :Aptitude for the Study of Law.
For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course, the
standard expected is of Degree Level.
The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the Study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the
Law and Constitution of India on the part of the student is assumed.

The questions will be of objective type including multiple choice questions, matching items.
Each question contains four alternative answers numbered as 1,2,3 and 4. Candidates have to exercise their
choice in answering the question ( See Annexure-I)
14. Hall Ticket is not transferable. Any tampering of Hall Ticket will automatically lead to the disqualification
of the candidate from appearing at the test and liable for prosecution.
15. Candidates are directed to carry Hall Ticket to the examination hall along with the following:
(a) A Ball Point Pen (Blue or Black) (b) One or Two H.B. Pencils (c) An Eraser (d) A Sharpener.

The candidate will not be allowed into the examination hall after 10.00 a.m i.e after the commencement of
the examination.
16. Candidates must remain seated in their allotted places till the completion of the Examination. In no case
they will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the end of the examination. Before leaving the
examination hall the candidates must return the OMR response sheet to the invigilator.
17. Every candidate appearing for LAWCET-2010 shall be provided with a specially designed OMR response
sheet (Annexure-II) on which the candidate shall have to mark the answer. The method of marking the
answers is illustrated below. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given for marking the
answers and other entries on the OMR response sheet thoroughly and observe the same, which should make
it easy for them to answer in the examination hall.
18. The OMR response sheet should be handled carefully by the candidates. They are advised not to fold,
wrinkle, or tear it. Further, the candidates are advised not to scribble or make any marks on the OMR
response sheet except marking the answers at the appropriate place and filling the required information in
the appropriate boxes. Any violation of these instructions will automatically lead to the invalidation of the
OMR response sheet.
19. Candidate shall note that they will not be given under any circumstances a second OMR response sheet.
Hence they are advised to be careful while handling it.
20. Candidate shall read carefully the instructions contained on the question paper booklet and OMR response
sheet before starting to answer the questions.
21. The question paper booklet given to the candidate shall consist of 120 multiple choice type questions in
THREE different parts with four responses given to each question, out of which only one response is
correct. Candidates shall mark the correct answer in the OMR response sheet by shading or darkening the
appropriate circle with HB Pencil. They should not use under any circumstances Ball Point Pen for this
purpose.
22. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

II. INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL UP OMR RESPONSE SHEET
1. Follow the Instructions given on the OMR Response Sheet. Fill up information and darken all the Relevant
Circles on the OMR response sheet carefully. Otherwise your OMR Response Sheet will be invalid.
2. Use HB Pencil only for darkening the circles as per the instructions contained in OMR response sheet. Use
Ball Point Pen to fill up other information as per the instructions contained in OMR response sheet.

If the correct answer to question No. 1 is ‘3’, in your opinion, please darken the circle as shown above. Please darken
completely one circle only for each question as shown above. If you darken more than one circle against a question,
the response to that question will be invalidated and no mark will be assigned.

3. Please darken the most appropriate response chosen by you, only in the corresponding circle against the
number corresponding to the question, you are attempting.
4. If you wish to change an Answer, please ERASE COMPLETELY the already darkened Circle and then
darken a new circle.
5. The candidate should carefully fill all the columns in the application and enter correct address. Further
the candidate shall submit the copies of the certificates in the prescribed format of Annexure III, IV, V
and VI issued by the appropriate authorities as applicable along with other relevant certificates at the
time of admission.
