Welcome to EXCEL REVIEW CENTER!
This Reviewee’s Handbook is intended as a guide for all
reviewees of Excel Review Center. It contains information
about the review center, its policies, rules and regulations.
It also contains information about the policies and
guidelines of the Professional Regulation Commission
(PRC).

I – DEFINITION OF TERMS – As used in this Manual, the
following terms shall mean:

III - HISTORY

In 2001, it repeated its feat achieved in 1997 by sweeping
again the Top 10 places in the ECE board exams. In the
November examinations, it set another milestone, this
time by becoming the first and only review center to sweep
the Top 20 places. This unparalleled achievement was
repeated in 2002 ECE board exams.

As of the writing of this handbook, it has produced 28 FIRST
PLACERS, 490 BOARD TOPNOTCHERS, 20,481 BOARD PASSERS
and has published over 20 review books. It is also the only
engineering review center to have SWEPT THE TOP 10 PLACES
FOR 7 TIMES and TOP 20 PLACES FOR 2 TIMES.
b. ATTENDANCE
7
Habitual latecomers (late for seven times) will be required
to explain in writing addressed to the management before
being admitted to class again.
c. REVIEW MATERIALS
PAMPHLETS:
All review handouts, notes and test papers during regular
review and refresher/coaching classes are free of charge.
However, they will be given only during classes.
BOOKS:
Those who have availed of the free books are advised to
claim them within fifteen (15) days from the start of
classes. Failure to claim the books within the specified
period would mean forfeiture of the privilege. The free
books will be given only upon full payment of the tuition
fee. The books are also available for sale at Excel Review
Center office / business center.
d. REVIEW FEES

TUITION FEE:
The total tuition fee must be paid within seven (7) days
from the start of classes otherwise discounts, if any, will be
forfeited.
INSTALLMENT FEE:
Reviewee may opt for installment basis for the payment of
his/her tuition fee. Installment is based on the regular
tuition fee and will be paid as follows:

Objective:
To teach the ideals of justice and respect for law and
authority.
Due Process:
The reviewer or staff concern submits an incident report to
the review head stating the name, section, the nature and
description of the offense, the date, time and place of
commission.
The review head calls and informs the reviewee about the
nature and gravity of his offense. The review head
conducts a formal investigation of the case and submits a
report to the review director/president.

The review director/president renders final decision
regarding the matter and duly informs the reviewee and
his parents or guardians of the decision.
Offenses:
1. Drug abuse such as possession and/or using or pushing
prohibited substance.
2. Assault (physical or verbal) to fellow reviewee, Excel
staff and reviewer.
3. Stealing, copying, audio/video recording of program
files, documents and presentations of the review
center not intended for distribution.
4. Bringing or carrying of dangerous or deadly weapons or
explosives banned by police authority.
5. Extortion.
6. Vandalism.
7. Sexual misconduct.
Sanctions:
The sanction is to be determined by the review
director/president depending on the gravity and the
number of times the offense is committed.

VIII. EVALUATION SYSTEMS
i. DIAGNOSTIC EXAMS
Every after the orientation program at the start of the
review classes, diagnostic tests in all board subjects are
to be administered for the reviewees’ test of residual
knowledge and for the review center to know strong and
weak areas of the reviewees. This is one factor which
contributes the basis of focus of concentration of the
review course.

simultaneously in Excel Cebu and Manila branches to
provide a nationwide ranking of its reviewees. Examinees
are required to wear the prescribed PRC dress code. They
will be using similar answer sheet used by PRC and the
answer sheets are corrected using an OMR machine. This
is intended for reviewees to be acquainted with the
actual board exam.
iv. e-REVIEW
This program is a multiple choice type examination
conducted through the use of a computer program. A
total of 50 computers (Excel Manila) and 33 computers
(Excel Cebu) all with flat-screen LCD monitors are readily
available for this value-added service.
v. ONLINE REVIEW
This program enables the reviewee to practice answering
frequently-asked multiple choice questions through our
website, www.excelreviewcenter.com.

Akin to e-Review, reviewee is rated instantly. The
database for online review is different from e-Review
database.
IX - OTHER SERVICES/PROGRAMS
i. EVALUATION
For purposes of evaluation, the school may, upon formal
request, ask from the review center a copy of the
performance in the weekly and pre-board examinations
and/or attendance record of their graduates. Likewise,
parents/guardians of a reviewee may request for their
son’s/daughter’s performance/attendance in the review
classes.
ii. GUIDANCE
Guidance counselling regarding professional and even
personal life is available when sought.
iii. SEMINARS/SYMPOSIA
The review center organizes and conducts free seminars
and symposia related to board examinations and all other
engineering fields of specialization.

2. Submit the application form for processing and
evaluation together with the following documents:
a. Original and photocopies of Transcript of Records
with Special Order and Date of Graduation with
scanned pictures and with remarks “For BOARD
EXAMINATION purposes only”
b. Original and photocopies of NSO-issued of Birth
Certificate (in NSO security paper)
c. 4 passport size colored picture in white
background with complete name tag
d. Current Community Tax Certificate (Cedula)
e. Original and photocopies of NSO-issued Marriage
Contract in NSO security paper (for married
women only)
f. Other specific requirements as required by the
Commission and/or the Professional Regulatory
Board
3. Pay the examination fee (PHP 600 for non-
baccalaureate degree, PHP 900 for baccalaureate
degree). Secure Official Receipt.
4. Pay for metered documentary stamps and mailing
envelope with metered documentary stamps.
5. Accomplish the PERRC and Notice of Admission.
Indicate the Application Number, Official Receipt
number, data and amount on the Notice of Admission.
6. Proceed to the Issuance Windows for final review of
qualifications and documents and issuance of Notice of
Admission.
7. Keep the Notice of Admission and Official Receipt.
Bring these with you on the first day of the
examination. Read the general instructions at the back
page of the NOA and the Program of Examination.

8. Go back to PRC 1 or 2 days before the examination to
get the school, room and seat number assignment.

5. Always put your answer sheet on top of the armchair
while taking the examination.
6. Stop answering the test questions at the end of the
time allotted for the subject. Arrange your test papers
as follows:
a. Notice of Admission (on top)
b. Answer sheet
c. Test question set
7. Do not leave the room until:
a. your test papers are received by the Room
Watchers
b. you have signed, indicated the time and set on the
examinees record of attendance and
c. Notice of Admission is signed by the Room
Watchers
8. To preserve the rule of anonymity in the correction and
rating of test papers, do not write or place in any part
of your answer sheet your name, seat number,
unnecessary words or phrases, strokes, dots, or any
other marks not called for in the test question.
9. No examinee shall copy or refer to any solution,
answer or work of another or allow anyone to copy or
refer to his work, nor in any manner help or ask the
help of any person or communicate with any person by
means of words, signs, gestures, codes and other
similar acts which may enable him to exchange, impart
or acquire relevant information while the examination
is in progress.
10. The possession or use by an examinee in examination
rooms during licensure examination of books, notes,

review materials, and other printed written materials
containing principles or excerpts thereof, coded
data/information/formula which are relevant,
pertinent, relative to, or connected with the subject
under examination, including programmable
calculators, cellular phones, beepers, portable
personal computers or other similar gadgets and
devices shall be considered cheating and/or act of
dishonesty. Any examinee found guilty thereof shall be
suspended or debarred from taking future licensure
examinations and his/her examination papers shall be
cancelled.
11. Do not take out of the examination room any
examination question which were used in the licensure
examination or copy, reproduce and/or divulge or
make known the nature or content of any examination
question or answer to any individual or entity. Any use
and unused answer sheet or any other test materials
furnished by you by the Room Watchers must be
submitted after you are through with the examination.
12. Examinees shall not accept or receive anything,
including food or whatever kind from any person while
the examination is in progress.
13. Examinees are prohibited from giving money, food or
any favor and material considerations to the Room
Watchers and other examination personnel.
14. Examinees who have already submitted their test
papers shall leave the building immediately. They are
prohibited from loitering, talking or discussing their
answers inside the room or along the corridors while
the examination is still in progress.

15. Maintain discipline at all times. Any misconduct or
irregularity on your part or any violation of the
examination rules and regulations and instructions will
be sufficient cause for the cancellation of your
examination papers and your debarment from taking
any future licensure examinations.

8. Always check your questionnaire if it has the correct
number of pages and if there are no misprints. If there
is any problem, inform the Room Watcher and ask for a
new set of questionnaires.
9. Always remember to mark your set (A or B) on the
Answer Sheet as indicated on the questionnaire given
to you.
10. The questionnaire can be used as scratch.
11. Do not detach any of the pages of the questionnaires.
