1. The main office is like the nucleus of a cell.

The nucleus acts as the control center; it

commands all the other organelles. The main office is where all the major decisions
occur, Mr. Giusti, the principal of the school, decides what takes place within its
boundaries.
2. The gates are similar to a cell wall. A cell wall sets the cell apart from its surroundings
and acts as a protective barrier. The gates keeps the school closed off from the rest of the
public, it keeps all of the students inside.
3. The school police’s role is similar to the cell membrane’s duty. The cell membrane is a
thin layer of lipids and proteins that provides support and protection. The security at
school supports the students’ in desperate measures, they also supply protection when a
student feels insecure and threatened.
4. Students are like the chloroplast of a cell. The chloroplast absorbs sunlight and uses its to
perform photosynthesis. Students absorb the knowledge that teachers place upon them;
they take that knowledge with them to obtain a job.
5. The trashcans are similar to lysosomes. Lysosomes dispose of waste within a cell.
Trashcans are where students throw away their waste if they choose not to litter.
6. Office Assistances can also be related to a nuclear membrane. The nuclear membrane
controls the movement of materials in and out of the nucleus. They are the ones who
deliver papers to and from teachers.
7. The school bell system is like the flagellum. The flagellum moves fluids across surfaces.
The school bell system lets the students know when a class is over, telling them to
transport from their current class to the next.
8. Teachers are like the microtubules inside of a cell. Microtubules are an internal support
structure that guides nutrients and molecules from the body of a cell to the end of its
axon. Teachers give students necessary skills needed for them to survive in the outside
world.
9. The school gym is similar to the mitochondrion. The mitochondrion is the organelle
responsible for burning food molecules (glucose and fatty acids) to produce energy. The
gym is where students exercise and burn of their own glucose and fatty acids in their
systems.
10. The student store is comparable to the peroxisome in a cell. A peroxisome is responsible
for the oxidation of long-fatty acids. The student store sells many unhealthy items which
can contribute to an unhealthy lifestyle for the consumer
11. The school parking lots are like a centriole. A centriole can be found at either pole of a
cell during cell division. Spindle fibers attach to the centrioles as well as the
chromosomes. The school parking lot is located on both ends; cars are parked here
throughout the school day.
12. The school library is like a central vacuole. A central vacuole is a membrane-enclosed
sac; it plays diverse roles in reproduction, growth, and development. The school library
gives students a chance to read a variety of books that can assist them in their future.
