script-based automation, scheduling and
alert notifications for 24x7 unattended
operations. A key component of the
IBM® Sterling Managed File Transfer
solution, Sterling Connect:Direct allows
organizations to automate the data
exchange between mission-critical
applications regardless of platform.
With highly reliable data exchange
from IBM® Sterling Connect:Direct for
Microsoft Windows, users can take full
advantage of its easy-to-use multitasking
and multithreaded capabilities. Sterling
Connect:Direct enables simultaneous
file transfer and flexible automation.
Operating as a Windows service,
Sterling Connect:Direct can be started
automatically, enabling unattended
operations.

Connect:Direct installation
• SQL Server 2005 – This software is not
provided with Sterling Connect:Direct.
You have the option to configure
SQL Server for use with Sterling
Connect:Direct during the Sterling
Connect:Direct installation. For
more information on selecting and
configuring this option, see the Sterling
Connect:Direct Getting Started Guide
Note: SQL Server ODBC driver must be
installed on the same system where Sterling
Connect:Direct is running, and there must
be local-domain access to the SQL Server.
